Alvstad Coat of Arms Siridar: Cordelia Sigrun Ingaborg-Alvstad, Siridar-Viscountess Alvstad
Homeworld: Thanatos Quartus, known colloquially as Alvsgaard
Other Fiefs/CHOAM Holdings: None of particular note.

Crest/Heraldry: Azure a fess wavy argent, fish terce vert roundeled dexter. In reality, the Alvst primary color of 'teal' is used rather than the heraldic 'vert'. House colors are thus teal and gray rather than green and silver.

House Character:
The members of House Alvstad are, as a rule, cold, analytical, and professional despite having a culture which many members of the Landsraad deem 'unique' when being polite and 'bizarre' when being frank. Throughout its tenure as a House Major, House Alvstad has established itself as a bastion of economic growth and power despite tendencies towards moderation and frugality. Discretion is considered the better part of success, and slow growth is preferred to high-risk in any situation. The House aims to present an original culture to the game, occasionally drawing upon Chinese and Swedish culture for motivation.

History:
House Alvstad is a 'young' House in that it did not exist during the famed Battle of Corrin. Instead, the Alvstad Mercantile existed as a cartel of bankers whose wealth accorded them first House Minor and later House Major status in the Landsraad. The Viscounts of Alvstad have always aimed for constancy above all else, although they have been no stranger to the power-games that riddle the Landsraad. On many an occasion, they have been fortunate enough to come out on top. In recent years, the assassination of the Viscount Jans II and the death of his comatose father, Nils IV, has seen the Viscounty fall into the hands of one-time Warmaster Pers Eskilsen. While this change might have been radically felt in any other House, the Alvst have moved on as professionally as ever. Save for alterations in stationary, few ripples have been felt.

Major Exports:
Alvsgaard has traditionally exported raw materials from its rich aquaculture and seafloor mining facilities, ranging from crude oil to radioactive ores to brinesquid ink. In recent years, on-planet development has allowed for the export of processed products such as refined petroleum products and functional nuclear reactors. Many Alvst Houses Minor make their money through consulting, and the design firms based on Alvsgaard are widely sought after for neo-modernist architectural work.
