House Character:
House Ginaz has long been known for two things: The Academy of Warfare and its shrewd use of political power and connections. The Ginaz have long been a major player in the Landsraad, and have clashed often with House Corrino over political matters. As strongly pro-democracy as any House Major, Ginaz members tend to be fiercely individual but place enormous value on personal honor. In addition to having a good feel for diplomacy, many House members have received at least some training at the Academy of Warfare, controlled by the House. The Academy is widely regarded as the finest swordschool in the Imperium, though many other pursuits can also be learned there. Although of course the highest levels of training are pursued only by those who plan to make a career out of it, most nobles and even diplomats will have a couple years of training under their belts; enough to hold their own against most.

History:
A small but highly trained Ginaz army aided House Corrino in the Battle of Corrin, and played a large role in the armies of the Butlerian Jihad. In fact, the House's original home planet (Planet Ginaz, for which the House is named) was decimated during one of the final battles of the Jihad. Despite many thousands of years on Marcinko, the lost planet is still looked upon wistfully by the populace. Originally a very poor House, the Ginaz have managed to build a very stable economic base around the highly successful Academy of Warfare, which was originally founded to train the House's young nobles and army. In the past year or two, the House has enjoyed a political renaissance of sorts, led by the Marquis. An end to the bitterly contested, 5000-year-old kanly with House Moritani has been brokered, and the House has also recently used its political influence to secure a seat on the Landsraad High Council.
