Outline of changes

Hey folks. I'm finally back from my short vacation so
I can finally post this. This is the outline of the
changes as discussed at the last player meeting. To
preface this prior to beginning, the changes are a
compilation of discussions from the current admin and
faction heads over the course of the last two months.

If there are specific question, I shall be available
(oneline tonight and tomorrow night for a few hours).
I am also available throughout most of the day via
email.

--------------

1) ALTERNATES (already in effect)
Each player is allowed alternate characters as long as
it is not of the same occupation or the same house on
any given planet. (IE, You can not be the mentat or
suck of two houses. You can not have two characters
within the same house if they are both on Kaitain.)

2) NEWBIES (going into effect tonight)
We will be opening a section of the IC realm to allow
for newer players who have not been grouped yet to
interact on an IC level with our current players.
This area is located off of the Guild Spaceport.
Exits from this area have been locked from players who
are not grouped. This will help to serve as grounds
for letting new players RP. There will be a list of
Archtypes that are acceptable for the new players so
that there is some quality control still gonig into
the IC realm.

3) OOC and IC Info files (within the next couple of
weeks)
We will be updating and changing the OOC and IC Info
files to reflect all of the changes that are upcoming.

4) WEBPAGES (already done)
We have updated the webpages and will continue to do
so on a monthly or near monthly term to assure it
remains current. Any additions folks would like to
add, please email them directly to wahye@yahoo.com.

5) STAFFING CHANGES (slowly being ramped online)
New Staffing Structure for Dune III

Four groups will maintain the running of Dune III.
Each of the groups will be composed of bitted and
non-bitted members. The groups will hold regular
meetings of which all players of the game are
invited to join in. Those with official seats on the
groups are the only ones who will get to vote if
issues
deem it necessary during the meeting. Thus the
running
of Dune III will become a total game effort and not
reliant upon one or two people for things to occur.

The groups are: PLAYER, THEME, DOCUMENTATION,
SYSTEM.
Each group will have a well defined region of
influence.

Member in the groups:
- COORDINATORS: 2 bitted members, so things can get
put into motion immediately and to coordinate the
  meetings themselves
- MEMBERS: 10 players of all types (Faction Heads,
  Players, other bitted members)
- OBSERVERS: Unlimited number of players who which
to come to the meetings but are not voting members.

Meeting norms:
-Group meetings will be arranged and coordinated by
 the COORDINATORS
-An agenda will be put out at least 24 hours prior
 to the meeting
-The meetings are a place to get out information on
what is needed to be done and get groups together to
work on the various projects outside of the meeting.
-The meetings are a place to give updates on how the
 various projects are coming along.
-The meetings are a place to bring up issues about
 the game WITH suggested solutions.
-The meetings are a place to ask for help on various
ideas (ie, plots) that players wish to run.

Membership:
-To become a member on a group, you will need to
approach the COORDINATOR to add you to the list.
-If the list is full, you will need to wait until
 someone drops off the list.
-As a member, you are required to attend at least
60% of the online meetings and participate in any
votes or @mail discussions. Failure to do so will
result in removal from the list.
-If anyone on the group (member or COORDINATOR) goes
on a LOA for more than 2 weeks without warning,
their names will be removed from the position.
-All members have equal voting rights (1 vote per
 member regardless of position).

Group responsibilities:
PLAYER
-Acclimation of New Players and Assisting existing
 players with personal character storylines
-maintaining and updating the OOCInfo files
-developing and conducting OOC seminars
-recommending and deciding upon changes to the
 CharGen system
-oversee Independent characters (recruiting and
 approval)

THEME
-Game-wide TPs shared and coordinated by subsets of
 this group
-All TPs run in the game, regardless of if the
person running it is on the team or not, are
discussed
 here
-resource for NPCs and further help on TPs across
 the game
-decisions on building new areas triggered by the
 needs of plots
-oversee the management of current factions
-making the call to bring on new factions and
oversee their development onto the game

DOCUMENTATION
