After some research, we've determined that the cause of the MUSH being down today seems to be due to a sitelocked player, Rathix, repeatedly attempting to connect to the game with an automated client. Logs from fremen.org support this conclusion.

We believe that this constitutes a Denial of Service attack. By e-mail, we asked Rathix to stop trying to connect, and he refused, so we had no choice but to contact his ISP's Abuse department and have them deal with it. Lovely folks.:)

I apologize to DuneIII players for any inconvenience this person has caused. The game is back up now and we will do our best to keep it here for you. Thanks to Broncalo for his prompt actions in diagnosing and dealing with the situation.
