The Robed Figure walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
The Robed Figure has arrived.

Chiew walks in, two women with painted white faces step lightly behind
him. He places his hands at his side, his posture making his hips lean
forward slightly. He looks about the room and grins.

The groom comes into the area, leading a horse by its reins, his face
  completely impassive.

The Robed Figure moves silently to the back of the room, remaining
  unnoticed.

Chiew moves towards the aquarium.

Alethia stands near the aquarium with Iason and Demothenes.

Majestic Stallion nickers softly, held by the groom in a quiet area at
the back of the vast chamber.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head as he approaches the Atreides
group. He pulls his feet together in a snap and nods his head, "Hai."

Iason looks around silently.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia turns to Chiew and regards him for a
  moment.

Ivanova walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Ivanova has arrived.

Ivanova walks into the room, a servant following close behind her with a
potted plant held between the servant's hands.

and then back to Chiew, "Good evening."

The Robed Figure remains out of sight.

Steffan moves out through the glass windows to the balcony.

Demosthenes moves towards the aquarium.

Boris gives Govinda a frank, disbelieving expression, lips quirking in
  amusement.

Valentina walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Valentina has arrived.

Anthony walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Anthony has arrived.

The groom is standing at the back, face impassive, as he holds the
  reigns to a horse.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head again in a snappy motion, a
smile plays on his face. He bows forward, "I am Siridar Chiew of House
Yen. You?" He asks but his eyes seem to indicate he already knows that
  answer.

Iohannes bows deeply to Valentina, and less formally to Anthony.

Majestic Stallion is out of sight of the general crowds interspersed
  about the Ballroom.

Filarion follows closely behind the Baron, bowing to nearby superiors,
nodding to those equal or lesser upon passing him.

Iohannes bows deeply to the Siridar Yen.

Anthony walks in. He is dressed elegantly in a uniform of a House Minor
Noble, following to the letter the tastes of the day.

Steffan moves towards the aquarium.

Govindha enters the room silently, followed by four guards in dark
cowls. He drops to one knee in acknowledgment of the assembled
nobles, and stands quietly by the door for a moment.

Demosthenes bows to Steffan. "Ah, my lord! A pleasure to see you again."

Anthony moves towards the aquarium.
Anthony smiles at Steffan.

Boris calls out as he passes through the crowd, "Ambassador Merx! Good
to see you, eh? How are Helga and Inga?" A little further, and "And
Lady Ivanova, not drinking already, are you?..." He chuckles. "Lady
Alethia, how pleasant. Where's that Duke who tried to kill me, eh?"

>From by the aquarium, Steffan smiles and offers a small bow, "Indeed it
is good to see you again..."

Iohannes makes his way toward the bar, carrying a beautifully designed
rebec. Four servants in the livery of House Alvstad, two carrying a
rolled up object between them, follow at a distance.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia blinks, "Oh my dear Siridar Yen, a
pleasure, Lady Alethia Iovine." She inclines her head to Chiew and
hears the familiar voice of Boris and turns to him.

Valentina walks in quietly, and unescorted. The Count is nowhere to be
seen. ... she slowly glances over those already in attendance.

Nestor walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Nestor has arrived.

Anthony looks at the Baron warily then turns to watch a fish

>From by the aquarium, Chiew looks about as more people join the area.
He widens his smile and holds up his arm, as if pushing the girls
behind him against the wall further.

Iohannes moves towards the bar.

Filarion follows the Baron, nodding to Iohannes upon passing, talking a
  few silent words to him.

Anthony notices Iason and nods respectfully at him.

*From the bar, Ivanova converses lightly with the servant behind the
  bar.

The Robed Figure continues to keep out of the sight of the crowds.

Nestor strides into the room, hands clasped lightly at abdomen level in
front of himself, a relatively disinterested look on his face as he
makes his way toward Baron Harkonnen.

Boris's trajectory has him heading towards the bar.

The groom is standing at the back, face impassive, as he holds the
  reigns to a horse.

Iason moves towards the aquarium.

Filarion moves towards the bar.

Govindha walks swiftly over to the Baron Harkonnen and matches his
stride. "Good evening, my dear Baron. I must offer my sincerest
apologize for missing our meeting last month, but..." He gestures
  aimlessly at the fish. "Business."

Alethia inclines her head, "Recovering from his surgery Siridar-Baron."
Her smile thins slightly, "The Suk says that he should walk again
without a cane, should he follow their directions explicitly. I see
that you have recovered from your wounds nicely." Alethia glances to
Chiew, "Siridar Yen, I am sure you have met Siridar-Baron Harkonnen
  yes?"

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes motions to Alethia, "Na-Marquis, this
is Lady Alethia Iovine." He then turns to Iason, and gestures, "Earl
Iason Merx. My lord and my lady, the Na-Marquis Ginaz." He deftly
turns, and the bows to Chiew, the man introduced as Siridar Yen. He
  patiently waits for introductions.

Iason merely bows deeply as the Baron passes, then offers similarly
respectful genuflections to the other nobles.

Anthony turns towards Iason and smiles "M'Lord"

Majestic Stallion is kept carefully out of sight.

From a small area off the dance floor, a small orchestra plays a
relaxing tune... melodies as old as time really.

Chiew snaps his feet together again and bows towards Boris, "Hai. Baron
it is good to see you again." His deep voice booms over the crowd.

*From the bar, Filarion nods to Iohannes' silently spoken words.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan bows to the Lady Alethia, "m'Lady it is a
  pleasure to meet you..."

Anthony walks towards Steffan

Boris flashes a toothy grin at the Yen. "Lord Chiew! Where /have/ you
  been hiding?"

*From the bar, Ivanova looks up at those by the bar with her. She
inclines her head slightly towards the people.

Anthony looks at the young lord quietly and says "M'lord"

Alethia turns to Steffan and inclines her head, "Na-Marquis." She
murmurs, "Good evening." She greets him.

*From the bar, Iohannes bows in return to Ivanova. "My Lady
  Rastanyev..."

Nestor licks his lips slightly as he takes a place behind and to one
  side of Boris and Filarion.

"May affairs of state." Chiew shakes his head sadly, "Aye... so sad
really. Wife well... she had died." His expression and eyes smile
  though his voice is sad.

Demosthenes smiles at Alethia, "I have petitioned His Lordship to allow
  me into the Ginaz school."

Anthony looks at the beautiful Atreides Lady who is talking to his lord
  and smiles.

Boris shakes his head, "Don't worry, Chiew, I'll send you some dark-
haired bit of fluff to take your mind right off her, eh?"

*From the bar, Filarion bows to the Rastanyev Siridar, exactly as far as
required, his face being polite, if nothing else.

Anthony snaps up at Demosthenes and smiles broadly, he moves a step
  towards him, motioning to speak

Alethia glances to Demosthenes, "A little education would do you well."
She glances to Steffan, "Should you need a character reference Na-
Marquis, I would be happy to give one for Demos."

Boris mutters to Govindha, "... I... understand you... for... bloody
  fish,... Master?"

Chiew puffs up his chest slightly, "What? Baron." He waves his hands to
the two ladies behind him, "Do you wish to insult me again?"

Demosthenes turns to Anthony, bowing, "My apologies, my lord, but I have
not met. I am Sirra Demosthenes Aleusis."

*From the bar, Ivanova lets out a low chuckles and begins to sip her
drink. She turns to watch the gathering crowd before her.

Boris dismisses the flustered Chiew with a wave and a laugh. "No, I'm
sure you get enough of that at home, eh?" He wanders off towards the
  bar.

Alethia glances to Chiew, "M'Lord Chiew," She smiles, "Who are the
lovely women with you?" She asks.

Anthony returns the bow "And I am Baronet Anthony Ma-Falkenheyn, last of
the House Falkenheyn and hopefully the new House Ginaz Master of Arms"

Nestor gives a quick bow to Chiew before following behind Boris.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew turns to look at Alethia. His eyes seem to
roam over the lady slowly as he answers, "They are my gift to the
  Emperor. Good no?"

The Robed Figure watches the assembled Siridari with some interest.

*From the bar, Iohannes orders a vodka from the barkeep. He turns to
watch the odd little hairless fellow with interest.

Govindha mutters to Boris, "Yes,... is... would... But... do..."

>From by the aquarium, Steffan smiles at Demosthenes as he speaks, "We
shall teach you of our ways of warfare...for we believe there is no
equal other than Emperor's Sarduakar of course..."

Govindha moves towards the bar.

Anthony nods to Steffan "You will not regret joining the Academy.....it
  is a life time experience

The groom remains completely impassive, unfazed by the chatter around
him. He keeps a firm grip on the horse's reins.

*From the bar, Filarion chuckles as he addresses Iohannes "They don't
serve your..what do you call it, Akva-something here Ambassador?

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles broadly at Alethia's remark.
He arches an eyebrow at Anthony's remark, "Really now? Are you also in
charge of the Ginaz school, or does Miyamoto Musashi still hold that
title?" He shrugs faintly at Steffan's remark, "To compare the two
ways of fighting would be like comparing the lion and the crane."

Boris moves towards the bar.

Majestic Stallion nickers softly and paws at the floor a bit with his
  forehoof.

Lakshmi walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Lakshmi has arrived.

*From the bar, Ivanova steps a bit off the bar and smiles as Boris
approaches. She inclines her head and curtsies, "Baron Harkonnen."

*From the bar, Iohannes says, "Saguavids, my Lord Ambassador..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia regards the two women for a moment, "I
am sure that His Majesty shall enjoy their company." She steps to
Chiew and murmurs, "Allow me to extend our condolences at the loss of
  your wife."

Lakshmi moves towards the bar.

Juseppe walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Juseppe has arrived.
Juseppe moves towards the bar.

Fredhrick walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Fredhrick has arrived.
Fredhrick enters, surrounded by 10 Sardaukar soldiers. Apparent is the
tell-tale shimmer of a shield at its maximum setting surrounding the
  Emperor.

*From the bar, Boris bows curtly to the Lady Ivanova. "Ah, Lady, you're
looking radiant as ever. Have you drunk all the wine, or is there
enough for us too?" His tone is jovial.

Anthony looks at Alethia and then towards Demosthenes "I was trained
there. I thought gymnastics and handcombat there before I left for
  Kaitain"

*From the bar, Iohannes bows deeply to Boris and Lakshmi, less formally
  to Nestor.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head and then reaches down to take
Alethia's hand. He places a kiss upon it, "I am sure she would have
liked you. Hai." He then releases the hand and turns to bow at the
  Emperor.

Chiew bows towards the Emperor.

Steffan bows deeply as the Emperor enters.

The Robed Figure immediately prostrates itself upon the ground.

Anthony snaps up and bows very deeply to the Emperor.

Iohannes bows deeply as the Emperor arrives.

Juseppe bows gracefully to the Emperor.

Ivanova curtsies low as the Emperor enters.

Alethia lowers herself to a deep curtsy.

Filarion bows and kneels on his right knee, head lowered.

The groom kneels as best he can, prostrating himself while keeping a
  firm grip on the horse.

Nestor bows in the direction of the Emperor.

Boris bows stiffly to his Majesty.

Demosthenes prostrates himself before the Emperor. After all, he is a
mere gentleman in the presence of the Emperor.

Govindha quickly spins and drops to a full kowtow. The four robed guards
  behind him do likewise.

Iason looks up, then drops to one knee to bow deeply, his gaze
  respectfully lowered.

Lakshmi also curtsies to the Emperor.

The two Alvst porters genuflect to the Emperor.

The music in the room dies for a moment as the Emperor enters and all
the musicians stand up in unison and bows towards the Emperor.

The three Atreides servants in the far corner of the room genuflect
  before the emperor as well.

Anthony gets down on his one knee in the tradition of the forms

Nestor moves towards the bar.

Alethia eyes follows the Emperor.

A double-file of noukkers moves through the Archway on the southeastern
wall of the Ball Room. They stop, face center and take a few steps
backwards to open an aisle down the center of the room. A middle aged
seneschal in black garb steps forward, "Announcing his Imperial
Majesty, Fredhrick XIX Corrino." For his part, the Emperor strides
confidently down the aisle created for him and quickly moves towards
  the throne.

The Robed Figure remains prostrated upon the ground.

Juseppe bows deeply while using his cane as support.

*From the bar, Juseppe turns to look at the bar.

Once Fredhrick reaches the Lion Throne, he turns and sits upon it,
letting his arms find their accustomed places upon it. "You may all
rise," the Emperor announces, his strong voice carrying throughout the
room. "We are pleased to see such a large number of friends turn out
  for Our birthday."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia rises and turns to listen to the Emperor.

Demosthenes waits for the nobles to rise first, and then the minor
nobles. Once the least of the titled characters in the room finishes
  rising, he rises.

A slight smile comes twitches on Anthony's lips

The Robed Figure rises inconspicuously and retakes his silent place
against the back wall, semi-hidden by the throngs of onlookers.

*From the bar, Boris lifts a glass in mock-salute to the Venhei
  warmaster.

Chiew raises from his bowed position.

Iason straightens.

*From the bar, Juseppe stands up with the aid of his cane. And bows
  towards the Baron Harkonnen.

Iohannes rises slowly. The two servants standing off to the side do
  likewise.

Govindha rises from his kowtow, brushing the blue carpet lint from his
  flowing robes.

Anthony follows Demosthenes's lead

*From the bar, Lakshmi stands up and orders herself a drink from the
  bar.

The groom rises beside the robed figure, restrengthening his grip on the
  reins.

Filarion rises again, eyeing others as they do so as well.

*From the bar, Ivanova straightens and then turns towards Boris, "I'm
afraid I could not fathom to finish the wine because I knew you were
coming good Baron." Ivanova continues the conversation from but
  moments before.

*From the bar, Juseppe orders a drink from the Bar.

Steffan rises slowly.

Majestic Stallion nickers softly, then shakes his mane.

*From the bar, Juseppe walks over towards the Baron and bows, "Good Day
  Lord Harkonnen."

*From the bar, Boris says, "Good day, Warmaster...Juseppe, is it?"

*From the bar, Juseppe nods, "Yes it is... your lordship"

>From by the aquarium, Chiew turns to the two ladies behind him and
whispers something. They both nod their heads.

Fredhrick moves up onto the Imperial platform.

*From the bar, Ivanova turns to look at Juseppe. She smiles and nods to
  the Warmaster.

Anthony gives the Emperor a side look.....one of enchantment.

The seneschal steps forward holds out his scroll. "Ladies and Gentleman.
As respect to the Emperor... each house has petitioned to step forth
this day and present their gifts. In the order you are called...
  please approach the throne."

*From the bar, Juseppe sees the lady Ivanova and bows, "An Honor, Lady
  Rastanyev."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia glances to Iason, "Do you wish to do the
  presentation?" She asks.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes shrugs easily, and smiles. "If you
don't, my lord, I'll accept the honor."

>From by the aquarium, Iason shakes his head just a bit. "It seems
inappropriate, somehow, for me to do so."

Demosthenes glances back to Alethia.

*From the bar, Govindha approaches the bar and whispers a quiet order to
the barman. The barman fills a tall glass with portygul juice, and
then takes out a small chunk of reddish resin. Using a metal grater,
he grates several sheds into a sapho press and squeezes several drops
of the blood-red liquid into the juice. Govindha takes his portygul-
sapho drink, takes a seat next to Lakshmi, and nurses his drink
  quietly.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head, "Very well, I shall."
She glances to Demosthenes, "Some reason I don't precisely trust you
Demos." She smiles as she says teasingly.

The seneschal announces, "House Alvstad"

Iohannes leaves the bar.

With Fredhrick safely seen to the Throne, the noukkers who formed the
aisle for him neatly fall out of ranks and unobtrusively make their
way to their assigned positions along the walls of the room.

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles to Govindha as he sits next to her. She
says with a sparkle in her voice, "Come here often?"

Iohannes leaves the bar hurriedly, making his way toward the throne.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles, "... seems ...
  inappropriate ... ... ... like ... ... ... ... ... ..."

Anthony smiles broadly, as if in deep thought.

*From the bar, Ivanova nods her head to Juseppe, "I'm afraid it has been
far too long since I've heard from the Venhei. I hope your Siridar is
  fine?"

Iohannes makes his way toward the throne, bowing deeply on one knee.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks uneasy, "Our Siridar has been a little
under the weather as of late.. I am unsure when he'll be out and
  about."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew looks forward towards the throne. He seems
to fidget slightly as he waits for his turn.

Fredhrick says, "Rise Iohannes, please, show us what you have brought."

*From the bar, Govindha stretches his thin lips into a smile, or
something very much like one. "With our Majesty's...appetites? Nearly
every day, I'd say." He laughs without breath behind it. "How are
  things in the nunnery, Mother?"

*From the bar, Ivanova nods her head to Juseppe, "That is most...
unfortunately. Please convey the condolences of House Rastanyev."

*From the bar, Filarion eyes the scene with interest, his eyes dancing
  between the emperor and Iohannes.

Iohannes rises, keeping his eyes averted. "Your Sublime Majesty, in the
name of His Excellency Viscount Nils IV, I bring two gifts. The one is
this, a rebec of great antiquity, five hundred years, played by none
other than the great Alvst epic poet known only as "Scheopfer" - the
  Shaper..."

Alethia glances around the ball room, her eyes come to rest on Lakshmi
and then her attention returns to the throne.

Iohannes raises the beautifully constructed instrument so that it might
  be seen.
Iohannes continues, keeping his eyes downcast.

*From the bar, Juseppe bobs his head a little, "I will be honored to
pass your condolences to my Lord."

*From the bar, Nestor raises an eyebrow at the gift of the instrument.

The two workmen move closer, falling into genuflection.

Tatyana walks in from Reception Hall through the Low Arch.
Tatyana has arrived.

Boris mutters to Nestor, "... to... the lady Tatyana has..."

Fredhrick nods at the gift as the seneschal moves to take it, "We find
this to be pleasing, and resolve to learn to play it so that we may
honour the spirit with which it was given."

Iohannes says, "In addition, I bring in the name of His Excellency the
Viscount, this tapestry, the product of ten years of work by Alvst
women of noble family. It portrays the birth, coronation and reign of
  Your Sublime Majesty."

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles enigmatically, stirring her drink with its
straw. She returns to looking back to Govindha and says, "As ever it
has been for ten thousand years. The endless chatter of high-pitched
voices, petty scheming, and training the young. It's nice to spend a
few decades out in the mundane world." She sighs softly and then asks,
"How are things in the far away lands? Or away from them?"

Anthony looks quietly at Tatyana and nods.

*From the bar, Ivanova looks out across the room towards Alvstad as she
says lightly, "My my my. Alvstad is playing it up tonight are they
not." Her comment isn't necessarily directly to any particular person.

*From the bar, Boris chuckles at Ivanova's comment.

After finding a place for the first gift, the seneschal steps forward
again to accept the second one.

The two workmen unroll the tapestry they bear slightly, exposing a
brilliant mixture of colours and figurative images, cleverly tricked
  out in brightly coloured fabric.

*From the bar, Juseppe shakes his head a little.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes mutters to Anthony, "... not serious,
  ... ..."

Tatyana arrives, albeit belatedly, in the company of her usual two
companions...tall guards of the Harkonnen household. She musters up
some semblance of dignity, despite the firm hands on her elbows which
guide her towards Boris. She glances about, smiling as best she can,
but the high flush in her cheeks belie some sense of the anger which
  rages within her.
Tatyana moves towards the bar.

The tapestry is passed up to the Seneschal.

*From the bar, Filarion bows lightly to the approaching Tatyana.

Anthony looks at Steffan and smiles.

*From by the aquarium, Alethia glances about the Ball room and watches
  Tatyana.

*From the bar, Govindha sips his juice and sighs. "It is similar with
ourselves, mother. All astrolabes and beakers, lenses and greenhouses.
The tools of quiet scholarship." He turns on his barstool to watch the
  proceedings with disinterested interest.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia glances about the Ball room and watches
  Tatyana.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew begins to rock on his toes. He turns to his
side and whispers to Alethia, "You think pretty?"

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes looks a little scandalized by Chiew's
  question.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia turns back to Chiew, "Your pardon,
  M'Lord?" Alethia asks.

Fredhrick says, "A gift we shall display in the reception hall for all
to see. Relay our appreciation of his gifts to the Viscount."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head towards the tapestry again,
"You a Lady. You like such things?"

Anthony turns and looks at Chiew.

Iohannes nods gravely, then sinks into a deep genuflection.

Anthony sighs and realizes Chiew's question and sighs.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes noticeably calms slightly.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia ahs and regards the Tapestry, it is a
priceless object, the women are very skilled."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes moves over to where Anthony stands.

Iohannes says, "Your Majesty's graciousness will truly warm the heart of
the Lord Viscount. May Your Sublime Majesty prosper forever."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes leans over to whisper something to
  the younger man.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head, "Hmmm... " is all he says.

A small smile forms on Fredhrick's face at that. "We certainly hope so
  ourselves."

*From the bar, Ivanova lifts her hand covers her mouth slightly. She
turns back to the bar and orders another drink.

Anthony looks at Demosthenes and smiles.

Iohannes produces a small but expensively bound book.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks in his pocket, "I am unsure if the gift I
have... is good enough for the Emperor... Being that I am but a
  soldier."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes sighs, and then replies to Anthony in
  a quiet whisper.

Iohannes clears his throat, keeping his eyes averted. "And if I may,
Your Sublime Majesty, I would produce a small token from my own House
  Minor, Helmsgillar..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia glances over to the Harkonnen partya and
then back to the Imperial throne.

*From the bar, Ivanova leaning towards you to whisper, "be careful
Baron... it seems that you've attracted the attentions of the infamous
  Lady Iovine."

a cheeky grin comes to Anthony's face.

Fredhrick raises one eyebrow, then lowers it again just as quickly. "An
unexpected gift, but a most welcome one." Looking to the seneschal, he
motions for the gift to be brought directly to him instead of placed
  with the others.

*From the bar, Tatyana glances about, her gaze wandering curiously
about. She notices Alethia and nods her head, a tired smile forming
  upon her face.

Iohannes says, "This is a work of mine, a brief history of the planet
Alvsgaard and its antiquities. It is dedicated to Your Sublime
  Majesty...""

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes coughs.

The seneschal nods his head and steps forward to receive the gift. He
then turns and presents it with a bow towards the Emperor.

*From the bar, Lakshmi chuckles. "My, the Alvst are playing a lot of
  cards."

*From the bar, Boris blinks. "Eh? Lady Iovine? She hates my guts, eh?"

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes continues his whispered conversation
  with Anthony.

Anthony leans forward to Demosthenes.

*From the bar, Ivanova merely looks towards Boris and smiles lightly.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks toward the Baron Harkonnen, "There is
  always someone that hates another...."

*From the bar, Boris says, "Nothing like a good healthy hatred to get
the blood flowing, eh Warmaster Giovanni?"

*From the bar, Govindha grunts at Mother Sarasvathi's comment. "Not with
a full deck, from what I've heard about the Viscount."

*From the bar, Juseppe nods.

*From the bar, Tatyana looks at Ivanova, then at the Baron.
"Someone...dislike the Good Baron?" She laughs quietly to herself, an
innocent smile playing upon her lips. "Why...I'd not think it
possible." She bats her lashes dramatically, then turns her gaze once
  again towards the procession.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew sighs and shakes his head, "This man
showboats. No much honor having us House Majors wait for his House
Minor to present. No honor." His brow knits in anger.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles briefly, glancing to Alethia,
and then across the room to the Lady Harkonnen.

Anthony looks at Boris, giving him a strange look.

*From the bar, Nestor bows ever so slightly, a tight grin on his face.
"My Lord Warmaster is most insightful."

*From the bar, Ivanova tilts her head towards Tatyana, "Of course
  Lady... you would know best."

*From the bar, Juseppe looks towards Nestor, "A Warmaster must see as
much as possible... To stay in service."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia murmurs, "I am sure that they are simply
attempting to be expedient, and mean no slight to you M'Lord."

Iohannes bows gravely again, then awaits his dismissal.

Fredhrick takes the book from the seneschal and thumbs through a few
pages before returning it. "Your gift is noted, and appreciated. We
  are please to receive it."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles, shaking his head.

Iohannes bows deeply. "My thanks, Your Sublime Majesty."

*From the bar, Lakshmi mmm hmms back to the High Master. "That's true,
but if the partial deck contains a lot of honors, you'll still do
  well."

Chiew begins to fidget in his position. He brow is knit deeply as he
  watches the Alvstad representative.

Iohannes bows deeply, walking backward from the Throne, making way for
  the next gift bearer.

*From the bar, Tatyana keeps her attention on the display before them,
but...a quick, brief smile creeps to her lips. Only briefly does she
allow herself to glimpse at Boris, but thankfully...it would appear,
her sarcasm, and the ensuing response, went unheard.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan smiles thinly as he anxiously looks to
  see who's next.

The seneschal steps forward and announces, "House Harkonnen. Please
  approach the throne."

Iohannes moves towards the bar.

Boris leaves the bar.

*From the bar, Filarion is standing quietly, trying to follow as many
different threads of discussion as possible.

*From the bar, Ivanova sips lightly at her drink as she watches the
  Baron approach the throne.

Anthony watches Boris all the way.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew nods his head as he sees Boris walk to the
throne, "Good. We move on finally."

Nestor leaves the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Iason watches silently.

Nestor approaches the throne quietly behind and to one side of the
  Baron.

*From the bar, Juseppe downs the drink... and blinks his eyes.

Boris approaches the throne, Tatyana on his arm, with Nestor and
Filarion in a wedge behind him.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia watches the Harknonnen party move towards
the Imperial Throne, she smiles as Tatyana passes, her attention turns
  back to the throne.

Boris bows to the throne, holding the bow a long moment, then
straightens. With a smile, he rumbles, "Warmest congratulations on
another birthday, your Majesty. How glad we Harkonnens are you've
  survived 44 long years, eh?"

>From by the aquarium, Chiew looks to his side at Alethia and attempts
to follow where her gaze is directed.

Without a smile, or any acknowledgment to her escort, Tatyana remains
focused on the throne before her. Protocol ensues, and despite
whatever discomfort she has at the Baron's...gentle...grasp on her
elbow, she lowers herself deeply into a curtsey.

Filarion follows the Baron, keeping a respectful distance to him,
staying on his left. He carries a telescope with a tripod, which he
  carefully assembles before kneeling down.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles faintly.

Nestor follows suit, bowing toward the throne.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia watches with a pride as Tatyana presents
herself and simply watches as the Harknonnen presents their gift.

Fredhrick watches the Harkonnen Baron and his retinue approach, "Thank
you for you warm thoughts Siridar-Baron. We are pleased the
Harkonnen's are appreciative of our survival."

Boris grins. "It's in our thoughts constantly, Majesty. Now, allow me to
present our gift." He indicates Filarion and the telescope.

A sick, cheeky smile beams on Anthony's face.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes coughs faintly, choking on his
canapes. He quickly scoops up a glass of punch in order to wash it
  down.

Anthony takes a glass of sweet red wine from a nearby waiter.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks to Lady Rastanyev, "I am not sure how this
ordeal works, Can you graciously explain to Lady Rastanyev?"

*From the bar, Juseppe coughs a little... "I mean Please Lady Rastanyev
  please explain to me."

Fredhrick's eyes fall on the telescope. "And what is this you've brought
  us?"

Filarion gets onto his feet and takes the telescope, approaching the
throne as close as etiquette allows. He places the telescope onto the
floor again and nods for Nestor to adjust its settings. He retreats to
  his place, then.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan sways his head to one side to get a
  better look.

Fredhrick watches Filarion's activity with what seems to be genuine
  interest.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew lifts himself upon the balls of his feet
slightly as he looks over some people before him, "What this... what
is that Baron up to now?"

Nestor steps forward to the telescope, taking a deep breath as he sinks
into a Mentat semi-trance for a moment before manipulating the
controls on the telescope. With a bow to the throne, he strides back
to his place behind the Baron.

Boris says, "A telescope, your Majesty. If you will be so kind as to
  indulge us a brief moment..."

*From the bar, Ivanova barely turns her attention from the procession
before her as she addresses Juseppe, "Oh... it is quite simple
Warmaster." She smiles slightly, "Merely approach the throne and await
for the chance to present your gift."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles again, faintly amused. He
folds his arms as he watches the platform party, glancing briefly to
  Chiew and Alethia.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia watches with interest.

Tatyana watches the ensuing events curiously. She does not appear to
quite know what, in fact, her companion has in store for the Emperor.
Grandiose, perhaps, over the top, more than likely...her interest is
piqued, that much is certain. One thin brow arches, as she turns to
  look at the Mentat.

Boris gestures to the telescope on its tripod at the base of the throne,
pointed up through the metaglass dome above.

*From the bar, Juseppe smile oddly, "I mean is there any special I
should do upon presenting the gift?"

*From the bar, Ivanova finally turns her eyes towards Juseppe as she
gives him her full attention, "Special?" She furrows her brow
slightly, "I do not understand Warmaster. Surely you've been to Court
before and trained in the proper etiquette?"

Anthony sips the red wine gently, casting quick looks at the assembled
  Siridari before him.

Fredhrick stands and descends from the throne to the telescope. "And
what shall we behold by looking through this telescope, Harkonnen?"

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Dancing girls."

*From the bar, Iohannes turns to Juseppe. "Always keep your eyes
averted, and always refer to His Sublime Majesty as 'Your Majesty' or
  'Your Sublime Majesty.'

*From the bar, Juseppe blushes, "I have only been to court once and that
was many years ago. I am a Novice to these events."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes looks askance at Anthony.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia rubs her hand together and shakes her
head as a servant presents a tray for her to select of wine, she takes
a deep breath and glances over to Anthony, smiles and then turns her
  attention back to the throne.

Boris chuckles. "We hope your Majesty will enjoy the gift. I pray you,
  Majesty, observe."

*From the bar, Lakshmi leans over to Juseppe. "You'll do fine. Just bow
a lot, and say `your majesty' like it was `sir' to a superior
  officer."

*From the bar, Juseppe turns his attention to Iohannes, "That sounds
  like very sound advice."

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles and manages to barely stifle a laugh. She
nods her head towards the crowd before the throne, "Forgive me then
Warmaster. I had assumed House Venhei was more... well, anyway, the
forms are quite simple really." She nods towards the Reverend Mother
  and smiles.

*From the bar, Iohannes nods to Lakshmi. "Exactly. My Lord Wamrster, you
shall do perfectly well up there."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes continues to look askance at Anthony.

Anthony looks at Alethia and smiles shyly. He returns his attention to
  Demosthenes, his face very grave,

Boris looks about the room, grinning proudly, awaiting the Imperial
  reaction to what he sees.

Iason watches silently, as he has the whole ceremony, without moving.

Tatyana's attention flickers between the Emperor and Boris, her
  curiosity growing by the minute.

*From the bar, Juseppe Turns back to Ivanova, "Well House Venhei is
quite refined... But as My Lord is Ill and many members of our
Diplomatic Corp is in dispose... I was asked by our Baron to deliver
  this gift."

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles and says, "Many a career has been given a
  boost by an inopportune illness."

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles lightly and echoes, "Yes... many." She
turns her attention back to the Emperor.

*From the bar, Juseppe speaks towards Iohannes, "I thank you kind lord
  for the vote of confidence."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles, shaking his head. He
already has his suspicions about what the Emperor will see.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks around.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony says, "w Demosthenes=I don't even want to
  know."

>From by the aquarium, Steffan smiles at Demosthenes

Fredhrick positions himself at the eyepiece of the telescope and looks
through it. After a moment of viewing he turns to Boris. "An expensive
gift to be sure." Knowing the others cannot see it, the Emperor turns
to face the assemblage. "House Harkonnen has presented us with a
racing yacht, and we are pleased." Once again facing the Baron, "You
  have outdone yourself Siridar-Baron."

Boris says, "It's called the Needle, your Majesty. A little creation of
the artists on Basal Station. She can manage one hundred ninety
standard gees of acceleration...Isn't that so, Nestor?"

*From the bar, Juseppe says, "leans on his cane and turning to find
Lakshmi, "I am very unsure that this is a boost to my office but; a
  mere favor for my Baron."

*From the bar, Ivanova raises an eyebrow as the gift is pronounced.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks back towards the assemblage.

*From the bar, Iohannes smiles at Juseppe "Indeed, honoured
  Warmaster..."

*From the bar, Lakshmi mmms and nods to Juseppe and smiles. "And modest,
too. Good, good, you'll go far, Warmaster."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes continues to smile, shaking his head.
He leans over to Steffan and murmurs, "I'll wager that the Harkonnens
have a starship above..." And of course, Fredhrick says it.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony mutters to Alethia, "... ... a ..."

Nestor smiles broadly, and quite uncharacteristically. "It is so, My
  Lord Baron."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew leans back and shakes his head. His eyes
grow wide, "Harkonnens grow fat this year." He grunts slightly and
then turns back to look at the two women behind him.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes blinks, turns back to Anthony. He
seems a little surprised by the young man's bluntness. He replies
quietly, even as the Harkonnens are about to be dismissed.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan without reply nearly laughs out loud at
  Chiew's words.

Tatyana gasps, sharply and audibly. Her attention now is focused on
Boris, her whole body near trembling with rage. She minds her tongue,
however, although her steely eyes are narrowed to slits in the heat of
  her anger.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia watches the presentation and sighs,
  shaking her head slightly.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes frowns as he notices Tatyana's
  reaction.

*From the bar, Lakshmi clucks her tongue with disappointment and says to
no one, or maybe Govindha, "A racing yacht -- well, so much for the
  powers of witchcraft."

"One hundred and ninety standard Gees," Fredhrick repeats. "It is true
then," The Emperor jokes (and obviously so, from the tone of his
voice.) "You are trying to kill me. A most unique method, crushing me
against the inside of my own vessel." He chuckles just to reinforce
the intended humour of the statement as he re-ascends the Lion Throne.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks at Lakshmi in wonderment... and returns his
  gaze at the assemblage.

*From the bar, Iohannes smiles slightly. "Well, ships are often called
girls, and that one can doubtless dance a merry jig... The powers of
  witchcraft remain untarnished...

*From the bar, Lakshmi beams to Iohannes and coos appreciatively. "You
have a delightfully silver tongue, sir, and think well on your feet.
My compliments to your powers of rationalization."

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles at the passage of words between Iohannes
and the Reverend Mother but remains silent.

*From the bar, Iohannes grins broadly and bows.

>From by the aquarium, Iason Raises a brow.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks up at where the Emperor is looking,
  frowning.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia simply blinks and looks a bit startled at
the gift, "I can't believe he did that..." Alethia murmurs to herself.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan blinks and turn to others next to him
  looking for reactions.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes detaches himself from Anthony and
stumbles over to Alethia. "Excuse me, milady?" He looks surprised.
  Confused. Unsure.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew looks to his side at Alethia, "Did what
Lady Iovine?" He pronounces without hesitation in his thickly
  accented voice.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Iason, "... ... ... ... ...
  from Tatyana ... ... father...he gave it ... the ..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia leans close to Iason and speaks to him
quietly, missing anyone who might inquire after her statement.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes blinks, hearing Alethia's words. He
spins back to look at the Emperor on the Throne, and the Harkonnens
before him. He continues to frown.

Boris bellows his laughter before the throne. "Oh, no, Majesty, we hope
you have a long and happy life in her. My mentat has computed that
there are only six vessels who could compete with her in any race,
  eh?"

Tatyana yanks her elbow away from Boris' firm grasp, but does not move
or retreat. Instead, she remains fixed in place, looking now towards
some unseen spot in the heavens, where the aforementioned gift circles
out of sight, but surely not out of mind. Her face and neck are red,
her small hands wrenching and clasping at her skirts. She forgets her
place, so overwhelmed by the moment, and does not even offer the
Emperor a smile at his joke.

*From the bar, Juseppe turns toward the bar for another drink.

*From the bar, Ivanova shakes her head lightly as she says, "Poor Lady
Tatyana...." As she lifts the drink to her mouth, a small smile curls
  upon her face.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan smiles thinly as he listens to Anthony.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew turns his attentions back towards Tatyana
as he sighs, "Woman not treat herself good will soon find her beauty
  faded."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes shakes his head, "... suppose that
  yacht ... ... ... ... the ... ..."

Fredhrick says, "Then We shall have to remember not to compete her
against any of those vessels." His eyes move from boris to Tatyana,
though he says nothing to her. "Yes. We are pleased, but we hold the
line with our banter Siridar-Baron, and there are others behind you
  with gifts to present."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "I know, poor thing."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head to Demothenese, "No, it
was a gift from Tatyana to her father." She murmurs, "It was seized
during the Harkonnen...." She falls silent.

Boris bows and backs away from the throne, still chuckling.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head and turns back to the
presentation with a sigh and steely silence.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes nods in reply. His stern gaze falls
upon the departing party once more. "I didn't realize her family was
  so wealthy..."

Nestor bows to the throne, then proceeding behind his Baron at a metered
  pace.

Filarion departs the area before the throne, too, bowing deeply as he
walks backwards, only rising as he is a fair distance away from it.

The seneschal steps forward again and announces, "House Rastanyev."

Boris moves towards the bar.

Filarion moves towards the bar.

Nestor moves towards the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks at Tatyana silently and then at
Alethia, and closes his eyes, as if the pain and grief of the two has
touched him too. He mutters a word "Ghanima"

*From the bar, Ivanova places her glass back down on the bar and
  proceeds towards the throne.

Ivanova leaves the bar.

Tatyana remains in place for a moment, only finally entering the bar by
a friendly 'gesture' from Boris. She too follows, seething noticeably.

Iohannes bows deeply to the arrivals.

>From by the aquarium, Iason remains impassive.

As Lady Rastanyev leaves the bar area, she signals to her servant who
follows close behind her. In the arms of the servant is a small potted
plant. She moves towards the throne and kneels into a low curtsy that
sends the folds of her dress fanning out about her.

Anthony looks at Iason.

*From the bar, Juseppe bows to the Baron.

*From the bar, Filarion gives the Baron an amused grin. "My Lord Baron
made an impression not to be forgotten soon, if I may say that." He
  addresses Boris.

*From the bar, Iohannes says, "A masterful gift, if I might say..."

*From the bar, Iohannes bows once more, to underscore his esteem for the
  Needle.

*From the bar, Juseppe says, "Indeed a gift that makes the one I have
  look poor."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "That remains to be seen. Simple gifts are
  often the best."

*From the bar, Boris accepts the compliments with a gurgle of laughter.
"Let them try and top that, eh?"

*From the bar, Boris favors the Bene Gesserit with a scowl.

*From the bar, Juseppe says, "I just that the Emperor feels the same
  way..."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Baron -- may I ask a question?"

*From the bar, Tatyana spins about in rage and places herself directly
before Boris, small hands fixed firmly upon her hips. "There is no
level you will not stoop to, is there?" she hisses angrily. She does
not lower her voice, or try to hide the rage which boils within her.
"You .are. evil, 'good' Baron. You define it." Her initial escorts,
seemingly to expect a reaction like this, circle in behind her, as if
to ward off an even louder..or physical...outburst.

*From the bar, Juseppe coughs a little, "I meant that I hope the Emperor
  feels the same way."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia clears her throat and glances to the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes looks faintly interested. A plant;
how quaint. His attention wanders back to Alethia, and he murmurs, "I
believe we will have some time before we are called on..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia glances to Demosthenes, "Hmm?"

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes gestures in the direction the Lady
  Tatyana.

Fredhrick motions for her to rise. "Lady Rastanyev, your presence if a
gift to our eyes. What have you brought for our person?"

Anthony steps slightly closer to Alethia

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Demosthenes, "... ... ...
  myself ..."

*From the bar, Iohannes nods to Juseppe, sipping his vodka meditatively.
He politely ignores the Lady Lermentov's outburst.

*From the bar, Boris dismisses Tatyana's outburst with an indulgent
wave of his hand. He waits for the question from Lakshmi.

*From the bar, Juseppe appears to still look uneasy.

*From the bar, Filarion regards Tatyana with a short gaze, frowning ever
so lightly, then observing the Reverend Mother and the Baron, always
trying to overhear parts of the dialogue.

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles puckishly as she leans over to the Baron
and asks, "Is there a second part of the gift -- perhaps in the hold
  of that lovely ship?"

Ivanova raise slowly and then steps to one side to wave the servant
forward, "Your Majesty...." Her voice sings lightly, "House Rastanyev
comes from a long lineage of growers and builders. Under your reign we
have prospered and are thankful for that." She pauses as the servant
finally comes to her side, "Do not look upon this plant with its
simplicity... for it is but one of many in the Conservatory that House
Rastanyev would like to petition His Grace for permission to build
upon Kaitain." She ends with another curtsy as she bows her head
  forward.

*From the bar, Juseppe raises an eyebrow to Lakshmi's question;
appearing to move the words back and forth through his head.

*From the bar, Boris returns the Bene Gesserit's puckish smile with his
own, wolfish one. "You have a cunning mind, Reverend Mother. That's
for His Majesty to discover, wouldn't you say, eh?"

*From the bar, Tatyana's hands are grasped by the two guards beside her,
as if they know full well her response to such a dismissal would
provoke a strike. "You may be Baron, good Boris," she says, her voice
trembling with rage. "But I swear...by my brother's grave, and my
  sister's...that I .will. not forget this...this...insult!"

>From by the aquarium, Chiew snorts lightly, "A plant... figures."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes nods to Alethia. His gaze wanders
across to the bar, and his expression hardens.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony smiles at the plant, and looks down at
  his own silver flower.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Demosthenes, "... however,"
  ... ... to ... "You could charm her to visit ... ..."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles lightly at Chiew's comment.
"Ah," he say, "I suppose it well-matches the other plants they have in
  the imperial household."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew turns to look at Demosthenes and grins,
"Indeed." He manages to get out before snorting again.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes looks at Alethia, and then nods.
"I'll bring you a drink, my lady."

Demosthenes leaves the area by the aquarium.

*From the bar, Lakshmi grins to the Baron. "Ah, then maybe I am right
  after all."

*From the bar, Juseppe sighs from the words just tossed through the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks at Alethia and smiles.

Demosthenes moves towards the bar.

Demosthenes glides over to the bar.

*From the bar, Juseppe nods to Demosthenes.

*From the bar, Boris frowns at Tatyana, "Oh, Tatyana, do shut up, eh?
It's a grand gift Harkonnen makes to the Emperor. You should be
grateful I didn't scrap the bloody thing after what your father did to
  my house."

Fredhrick says, "We are certain that space can be found for such a gift.
We have always felt Kaitain should be a place of beauty."

*From the bar, Nestor smiles slightly at Lakshmi. "Perhaps the Reverend
Mother thinks herself into a corner. It is unwise to think House
Harkonnen as predictable...for that is just when they will surprise
  you."

*From the bar, Iohannes bows briefly to Demosthenes.

*From the bar, Filarion nods to the approaching Demosthenes, then turns
to Iohannes, gesturing the bartender to pour him a vodka, too.

*From the bar, Juseppe nods to the Bartender to bring himself a Vodka.

*From the bar, Demosthenes smiles, nodding to Juseppe. He walks over to
the bar and obtains himself a drink. He nods to Iohannes as well, "The
Earl Merx conveys you his regards, my lord." To Juseppe as well, "As
to you. My regards, along with that of House Atreides."

>From by the aquarium, Anthony almost drips with sarcasm.

"Thank you Your Grace." Ivanova smiles and awaits to be dismissed.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia glances to Anthony and smiles again, her
eyes goes back to the Throne.

*From the bar, Demosthenes glides over to the Harkonnen party, walking
stick under one arm. He bows low before the Baron.

Fredhrick motions for the Regent to take her place back amongst the
crowd as he awaits the calling of the next house.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks at Demosthenes, "The regards are extended
as well from myself and House Venhei."

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles to Nestor and laughs musically. "Dear
Master Alexi, not a week goes by when your house doesn't surprise me."

*From the bar, Iohannes smiles to Demosthenes. "I thank yourself and the
Lord Earl. Should you head back to the aquarium, tell him that Lord
  Iohannes gives his."

Ivanova nods and moves back towards the bar area, again signaling the
  servant to follow.
Ivanova moves towards the bar.

The seneschal calls, "House Ginaz."

*From the bar, Boris nods to Demosthenes.

Steffan nods in acknowledgment and motions Anthony to accompany him.

*From the bar, Tatyana blinks. "What .he. did to YOUR house?" she
protests, struggling against the grasp of the much larger guards. "You
gouged him, for everything we had...and took everything, right down to
his dignity." Despite the anger and hostility which rages within her,
she keeps her voice audible to only those near the bar...angry,
perhaps, she is...but not stupid enough to bring down ill will from
the Emperor, no matter what the circumstances are which provoke her.
"Tis no wonder your...ilk are like you. And I will .not. shut up. I am
your 'blushing bride', am I not?" She smiles, a sick and sallow grin
which makes her look altogether feverish. "Can you not bear to hear
what words I have to say?'

*From the bar, Iohannes continues. "And of course House Alvstad gives
its regards to the noble House Atreides..."

Anthony looks at Steffan and smiles

Steffan approaches the Throne. He then bends to one knee with a rather
large thick book in hand, with his hands folded and his head
lowered. "Your Majesty, my father the Marquis sends his regrets that
he cannot attend because of his health but wished to send his regards
  on this glorious day. "

>From by the aquarium, Chiew grumbles lightly, "What is this... we are
after House Ginaz?" He places his hand upon the hilt of his sword.

*From the bar, Demosthenes turns, and then thanks the diplomat and the
warmaster. "And your regards are equally well received." He pauses as
the next name is called, and then looks back to the Harkonnens. He
bows again, "Excuse me, my lord Baron Hark..." He takes a few steps
back as Tatyana tears into her husband. "Ah... my lady," he murmurs
lamely, "The... ah... Lady Iovine invites you to ah..." He takes
another step back, not wanting to be part of this quarrel.

Anthony stops a respectful distance from the throne and Steffan and
drops to his knee, head lowered.

Steffan pulls out the book and presents it, "We wish to present to your
Majesty a Guttenberg Bible, an original handwritten one that has been
passed down through the generations of House Ginaz. It is from my
father's private Library and he wished your Majesty to have it..."

>From by the aquarium, Iason raises a brow.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia twines her fingers together before her
and continues to watch the presentations.

*From the bar, Ivanova turns towards the bar and requests from the
  servant, "Vodka on the rocks."

*From the bar, Iohannes covers his mouth upon hearing of a handwritten
  Guttenberg Bible.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks towards Ivanova, "Lady Rastanyev are you
  well?"

*From the bar, Boris says, ""Oh, I can bear it, Tatyana my sweetling.
Your father owed my tribute, and he was slow about giving it. His
dignity was the least of his worries, eh? He's lucky I left him still
  wearing his skin!"

*From the bar, Filarion nods to Iohannes, a cynical grin on his face.

*From the bar, Ivanova looks towards Juseppe and presents him with a
smile, "I'm fine... should I be otherwise?" She blinks and then
accepts the drink from the servant.

*From the bar, Lakshmi bites her tongue and smiles.

*From the bar, Juseppe sighs, "It just appeared that you might have been
  a little stressed..."

*From the bar, Nestor nods slightly toward the Reverend Mother,
muttering an, "As it should be," before turning his attention back to
  his Baron.

*From the bar, Demosthenes has the good grace not to look /too/ amused
by the Ginaz gift. He bows again and clears his throat.

*From the bar, Filarion scans the scene before the throne over the rim
  of his glass, smiling faintly.

*From the bar, Lakshmi sits motionless, coloring, daring not to mouth
  off, or even move.

*From the bar, Tatyana cocks a brow, well beyond what common sense would
tell one in her position. "Slow in giving it, my ass, good Baron,"
she coos sweetly. "You...your greed, your insatiable desire to grind
.everything. until it is but a shattered image of its former self.
Slow in giving it, by what? So poor you are, are you not? What .I.
think, kind husband-to-be...is that you were .scared. of my father,
and his refusal. For what if others came to their right mind, eh?"

*From the bar, Ivanova furrows her brow slightly, "Stressed Lord...
hardly." Ivanova begins to sip lightly at her drink. as she turns to
watch the events unfold before her again.

*From the bar, Govindha turns to Lakshmi and murmurs, "Handwritten, is
  it? Will wonders never cease."

*From the bar, Lakshmi sits still, suppressing laughter.

"Your father sends a gift of enormous value, na-Marquis, and we are
pleased." Fredhrick stands, "And as your father honours us and our
House, so we shall honour his. When you return to your father tell him
that his book shall find a treasured place among our private
collection. And tell him also that I honour his love for our person.
We would be pleased to have you join us at our throne."

*From afar, Lakshmi mentally recites, "I will not laugh, laughter is the
  decorum-killer..."

*From the bar, Juseppe lowers his head toward his drink, "I apologies
for my concerns... I think I might be the one who is stressed."

*From the bar, Demosthenes looks at the rest of the people at the bar.
Even if the peanut gallery wasn't impressed, the Emperor was.

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles and lets out a light sigh, "Perhaps... you
should drink more Lord Warmaster.... it might help to settle your
  nerves."

*From the bar, Boris laughs, "Then I'd cudgel their heads until they
gave up what was mine. Like I did your father. I remember the soft
sounds he made when they brought him to me at the end of the war. Most
amusing, how he pled for your life." He chuckles. "You're most
  delectable when you're furious, Tatyana."

*From the bar, Demosthenes absently sips at his punch. He sidles away
from the Baron and his bride-to-be.

*From the bar, Juseppe becomes more uneasy when hearing the Emperor's
  compliments about the Ginaz gift.

*From the bar, Lakshmi inhales and exhales smoothly. "Oh, my."

Steffan nods "as you wish your Majesty, I also wish to introduce Anthony
Ma-Falkenhyn of the house Minor Ma-Falkenhyn and he wishes to present
  to you as well. "

*From the bar, Filarion slowly shakes his head, still he's picking up
the reactions of others with trained eyes.

*From the bar, Tatyana tugs again, but the guards show no sign of
letting loose their grip on her. "And you are repulsive. I cannot help
but wonder what you did to your mother, when she was nursing you...I
am quite surprised you did not bite the breast that feeds." She cocks
a brow, laughing angrily. "Or perhaps you did, one cannot help but
  wonder."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew grumbles lightly, "What... is the Emperor
blind!?!" Another rumble from the Siridar ensues.

Anthony moves up slightly, just a bit behind Steffan's side and bows in
low obsience before the Emperor, waiting to be allowed to speak.

*From the bar, Nestor licks his lips lightly at the request of the
Emperor, seemingly unflustered at all from Tatyana's outburst. Still,
  he stays near his Baron.

*From the bar, Ivanova turns her attention from the Emperor and his
gifts to the Baron and his wife-to-be. Her brow raises as she listens
to the words coming forth from the Lady.

*From the bar, Juseppe looks again in his coat pocket to re examine the
gift... Then returns to his drink.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia steps away from Chiew and to Iason and
rubs her hands together again, she seems to be impatient, she turns
  back towards the throne.

Fredhrick says, "We shall receive the gift of House Ma-Falkenhyn since
he chooses to honour us with it."

*From the bar, Boris hoots laughter, "Oh, you can wager that I tore her
womb from inside when I was born, and left my tooth marks in her teat
when I suckled!" He turns to Nestor. "The Lady Tatyana's clearly
tired, eh? Do see her to her Embassy." He steps forward and takes her
chin in his big hand. "And await me, my luscious one." he adds, with a
  lewd wink.

*From the bar, Nestor bows slightly, keeping his eyes on Tatyana now.
"As My Lord Baron wishes..." He gestures to the guards even as he
steps toward Tatyana and to her side.

*From the bar, Nestor mutters to Tatyana, "... allow me ... carry out my
  orders, My ..."

Anthony bows low again. "The House of Your Majesty's Servant has been
loyal to Your Majesty's Throne and Your Majesty's vassals the
Honorable House Ginaz for aeons. As proof of our dedication to the
Throne, Your Majesty's unworthy servant presents to His Majesty a gift
of wealth. Not from the future, but of the past".

*From the bar, Ivanova shakes her head lightly as she takes another sip
from her drink. She breaks her concentration to nod her head to the
Reverend Mother, "Reverend Mother... I do not believe I am familiar
with this person you have conversed with." Her eyes fall upon the BT
  with a steady stare.

Anthony puts a hand in the his tunic and removes a long, silvery case.
He holds it up before the Emperor.

*From the bar, Nestor takes a slight breath, his eyes observing Tatyana
for some physical reaction or another. He gestures toward the way out.
  "My Lady..."

*From the bar, Tatyana smiles. "... ... that ... is no ... ... ... the
good ..." She shrugs, as the guards release her to Nestor's care. "...
  ... it. ... ... ... much from ... as ... other Harkonnen ..." She
extends her arm expectantly, waiting for him to escort her out.

Anthony says, "This case Your Majesty comes from my patrimony in the
Planet of Marciako. It is a rare weapon from the Golden Age of
  Mankind"."

*From the bar, Nestor smiles at Tatyana's comment, holding the gesture
toward the exit. "We all have our place, My Lady..."

*To the by-aquarium, Demosthenes glances over, trying to catch the eye
  of the Lady Iovine.

*From the bar, Lakshmi looks over to Ivanova and says, "Ah, I suppose I
  should introduce you."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew grumbles again, "Bah... another House Minor
we wait on." He shakes his head, "Ridiculous. No honor. No."

>To the bar, Alethia glances about the room, she pauses to regard
  Demosthenes.

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "High Master, this is Ivanova, Lady
Rastanyev. Lady Rastanyev, this is High Master Govindha
  Kalanadhabhatla."

Anthony unlocks the case and brings out a strange looking, silver
dagger. Its' blade is twisted in a strange way and there is a symbol
of a white crocadile engraved on it. "This is the Tamring Sari, a
blade that once belong to a great knight. It was excavated on my fief
years ago and has remained in my family's possesion ever since. Local
legend has it that whosoever wears this blade shall never be defeated
in combat and live a heroric life. On behalf of my House, I present it
to Your Majesty with wishes of a long and prosperous reign".

*From the bar, Demosthenes glances over to the Lady Rastanyev, and the
High Master. He glides over to the bar to collect another drink.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia excuses herself from Iason's side and
  walks towards Tatyana.

Alethia leaves the area by the aquarium.

Nestor leaves the bar.

Tatyana walks to the southeast and passes through the Low Arch.
Tatyana has left.

The seneschal moves down to take the case and dagger from Anthony.
Fredhrick announces, "We accept the gift and hope that local legend is
  correct."

Nestor makes his way along the wall, Tatyana at his side as he moves
  subtly towards the arch.
Nestor walks to the southeast and passes through the Low Arch.
Nestor has left.

Alethia pauses with a sigh and turns around to walk back to the area
  near the aquarium

*From at the bar, Govindha bows and takes the lady's hand. He brings it
towards his mouth but, thankfully for all involved, does not kiss it.
His thin, stained lips form a smile. In a silky voice, he says only,
  "Charmed."

Alethia moves towards the aquarium.

Anthony smiles broadly and bows again to the Emperor before moving back,
not showing his back to Fredherick.

*From the bar, Boris has a full glass of whiskey handed to him, which he
  tosses back without hesitation.

*From the bar, Ivanova tilts her head and bows it slightly forward. She
manages a tight smile upon her face as she says, "High Master?" Her
brow furrows slightly, "I'm afraid I have not seen you in court
  before... are you newly arrived?"

*From the bar, Boris says, ""Now Master Govindha, what's all this about
  you standing me up, eh?"

Anthony suddenly stops half way and says in a low voice "I apologize
Your Majesty....the blade has to be worn around Your Majesty's waist
to have effect. My sincerest apologies for not divulging this. It has
  sliped from Your servant's mind".

The seneschal announces, "House Atreides."

Steffan stands and moves backward again towards the aquarium.
Steffan moves towards the aquarium.

*From the bar, Demosthenes walks over to the short, preternaturally thin
man. He bows low to the Lady Rastanyev, "Lady Regent, it is always
pleasing to see you." He rises, and bows to Lakshmi, "And you too,
Mother..." He pauses, and takes a step back, "Excuse me. I have an
  affair to attend to."

Demosthenes leaves the bar.

Anthony follows Steffan.
Anthony moves towards the aquarium.

*From the bar, Govindha shakes his head. A twinkle forms in his eye,
although it cannot be determined whether from Ivanova or the sapho
juice. "Ahh, no. I have held my post since..." He scratches his chin.
"10,021, I believe. But so rarely does your illustrious House have
contact with us that I am afraid we have never met." He turns at
Boris's comment. "As I said before..." He gestures at the aquarium
  once again.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks at Steffan with a tired, almost
  melancholy smile.

Demosthenes moves away from the bar, and advances to the red carpet. He
hands his walking stick to a servant, and strides towards the throne.

*From the bar, Boris says, "Fish? Yes...Fish. These are yours?"

*From the bar, Ivanova retracts her hand from the grasp of the High
Master with the utmost delicacy. "Of course High Master." Again, she
  manages a thin smile.

>From by the aquarium, Anthony looks around at the assembled Siridari.

Alethia leaves the area by the aquarium.

Iason leaves the area by the aquarium.

Demosthenes turns when he's halfway down the carpet, waiting for his
lady to take her place in front of him.

Alethia walks towards the Throne, three Atreides servants approach with
  her carrying three objects.

*From the bar, Govindha shakes his head once more. "Not these fish, of
course. More important fish. Not the water kind." He touches the side
of his nose in a charmingly archaic gesture.

Alethia nods to Demothenes and continues til she is before the throne,
she then gracefully dips into a deep curtsy before the throne, "First
I must apologize Your Majesty that the Duke Atreides himself is not
here to present his gift to you."

Fredhrick watches the Atreides approach, his eyes on the objects carried
  by the servants.

*From the bar, Boris scratches his gleaming bald head. "Hm. These fish
of yours, are they edible, at least?"

Demosthenes prostrates himself behind the Lady Iovine. He holds his
position for a few moments, before asked to rise again.

Iason genuflects as Alethia does her curtsy

Fredhrick nods to Alethia. "We are sure that the Duke would rather be
here than where he is." A motion of his hand indicates that the
  Atreides may rise.

Demosthenes rises at the Emperor's command.

Iason straightens slowly.

*From the bar, Govindha bites a sapho-stained lip. "Er, no." He pauses,
and sits down at his stool. "Would you like a drink, dear friend? The
barman here makes a rollicking L'Orange Triste."

Alethia rises and then gestures to the servant, "Please accept our
finest vintage of ouzo, our best year was 10010 and may we present two
cases. Since we are unable to actually bring our gift to you. Caladan
is gifted with the sea and so House Atreides wishes to present His
Imperial Majesty with 'The Lioness'" Another Atreides servant presents
a picture of a yacht decked out in Imperial colors, "At the Imperial
docks she awaits your pleasure Your Majesty."

*From the bar, Govindha finishes his drink and orders two more. The
barman gets out the portygul juice and the sapho press, and once again
goes through the laborious process of making the drink. As he
finishes, he places one before the High Master and one before the
  Baron.

*From the bar, Boris lifts the drink and tosses it back. His eyes widen.

Fredhrick takes in the picture for a few moments before responding.
"Speed in space, and speed in the water. Indeed." The Emperor smiles.
"We look forward to our first ride with eager anticipation.

*From the bar, Boris claps the little Tleilaxu on the back, forcefully.
"That will clean you out, eh Master?" He gestures to the barman. "Make
one of those for Count Filarion, here, eh?"

Alethia inclines her head regally, "We look forward to a Regatta perhaps
in the near future, Your Majesty." She smiles charmingly.

*From the bar, Filarion raises an eyebrow and manages a smile. "If My
Lord Baron speaks in favour of it, it has to be formidable at least."
He inclines his head respectfully to Govindha

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles, watching the show at the bar.

"Perhaps," Fredhrick returns the smile, dismissing the Atreides with a
wave of the hand and waiting for the next house to be called.

Demosthenes prostrates himself once more, and then departs. Lowest in
  rank, he leaves first.

*From the bar, Govindha orders another. The barman sighs, gets out the
sapho press, and gets to work once again. The bar of reddish resin is
beginning to deplete. The barman finishes, and sets a tall glass
  before Filarion.

*From the bar, Juseppe sighs.

Finally a large golden figurine of a rampant Lion with a timepeice it
its paws, "If it pleases your Imperial Majesty HOuse Iovine presents
you with this symbol of your Imperial Standard." Alethia dips to a
  curtsy.

Demosthenes quickly vanishes into the small party by the Aquarium.
Demosthenes moves towards the aquarium.

Iason steps back a bit, but does not withdraw, not quite yet.

*From the bar, Filarion takes the glass and studies its content for a
seconds, then takes a sip, savouring the taste.

Fredhrick says, "It does please us. We shall have it placed in our
  personal office."

*From the bar, Boris scowls and shouts at Filarion, "Don't sip it! Drink
  fully!"

*From the bar, Ivanova covers her mouth and lightly chuckles at the
  Baron's demands.

Alethia rises and steps backwards three paces, "Thank you Your Majesty."
She then turns and steps away from the Lion Throne.
Alethia moves towards the aquarium.

*From the bar, Filarion sighs inaudibly, downing the glass as his Baron
  commands.

Iason pauses, then practically prostrates himself as he steps forward.
"My Lord, House Merx wishes to thank you for its genesis and your
graciousness in granting the title of Earl to myself for what little
service I could offer. As a gift to you, an opera has been composed to
be played by the Imperial Opera at a later date, exalting your reign."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes sighs, looking visibly relieved. He
moves over to Alethia, and murmurs something to her.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes mutters to Alethia, "... that ... ...
  I ..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Demosthenes, "... but the
  Harknonnen gift ... the ..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia sighs.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles grimly, "At least our gift was
hand-made. Their gift was a spoil of war. Perhaps someone could see
fit to mention that to His Imperial Majesty."

Fredhrick says, "We shall, of course, be in attendance for the opening
  performance then Earl of Merx."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia says, "It matters little Demosthenes how
  it was obtained."

The seneschal announces, "House Yen."

Iason steps back.
Iason moves towards the aquarium.

*From the bar, Boris says, "Master Govindha, make an appointment to call
on us at the Embassy, eh? I've some ideas we must discuss. And make
sure all of your..fish are seen to before you come, eh?"

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes nods, frowning. "No, I suppose not."

Chiew steps forward, making each turn a sharp pivot. He approaches the
throne and snaps his heels together, ending it with a quick snap of
his body forward into a bow. Two women with white painted faces
proceed behind him at several paces.

*From the bar, Govindha bobs his head slightly. "Yes, I shall with all
haste. We have developed a new Product since last time we talked; you
  may be interested."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Demosthenes, "... I think ...
... ... poor taste of Boris ... do what he ... as he did it. ...
  honestly ... Tatyana's ..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head slightly and sighs.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes mutters to Alethia, "... ... ... say
  ... ... ... ..."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia mutters to Demosthenes, "... would
  welcome it, but the ... ... ..."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes frowns, "Is it just me, of is House
Moritani conspicuously absent?" At Alethia's comment, he smiles
  briefly, and replies.

Fredhrick watches the entourage from House Yen move forward to the
throne as he leans over and speaks softly to the seneschal beside him.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes mutters to Alethia, "... ... my ...
  Plausible ..."

*From the bar, Boris says, "Oh? A Product? Not like the last one, eh?"

Chiew nods his head, "Hai. Honorable Emperor Fredhrick-son. We of House
Yen believe that the body is a temple and must be treated correctly."
He nods again, "These two are bathing girls. No better way to care for
the body than with them." He turns to nod his head forward and signal
for the girls to leave his side and join their new master.

Chiew makes another bow towards the throne and then retakes his place
  among the other people.

"House Venhei" is next announced.

Fredhrick smiles to the two girls, as the Seneschal shows them to a
place with the rest of the gifts.

*From the bar, Iohannes pats Juseppe on the back. "The Honourable
  Warmaster will do perfectly well..."

*From the bar, Govindha turns towards the Lady Rastanyev. "It is a shame
that relations are not so close between our societies, Lady Rastanyev.
Perhaps we, too, should schedule a meeting to remedy this. There is
not a House in the Landsraad that could not make use of our unique
  goods and services."

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles lightly towards the High Master, her eyes
dart for a moment to Lakshmi as she answers, "Perhaps... contact my
assistants to arrange for a time."

*From the bar, Juseppe says, "thank you..."

*From the bar, Iohannes clenches his glass with his hand slightly.

Juseppe leaves the bar.

Juseppe walks away from the bar with each step being compensated by his
cane. Upon entering the center near the throne he bows deeply to the
ground with the assistance of the before mentioned cane. "Your Sublime
Majesty I am but a lonely deliverer from the House Venhei."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes says, "You know, there's some
fascinating individuals by the bar. There's that fellow, Govindha, for
instance. High Master. Of what, I'm not sure."

Juseppe coughs a little, "The Baron Venhei wishes you happiness on this
day of your birth; with this modest gift." Juseppe reaches in his
pocket. He brings out a simple glass cube with a yellow fish. "This
fish is called a Sabi. A Sabi has very interesting responses when you
whistle. Juseppe whistles and the fish glows brightly making the cube
appear to be a solid light source. And hands the cube to the Seneschal
with his head tucked down and his arm extended straight out in front
  from his body..

*From the bar, Boris watches the Warmaster, mouth agape. "More...fish?"

*From the bar, Ivanova chuckles lightly, "It seems you can't escape them
  today Baron."

*From the bar, Boris says, "We gave the Emperor a spaceship, and Venhei
  gives them a...fish."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew looks to Demosthenes, "Master Govindha
there aye?" He answers though he's probably not the one being spoken
to. He strains his neck slightly to look at the people in the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes nods to the Siridar. "Yes, Master
Govindha. At last note, the Lady Rastanyev was ensconced in
conversation with him, and Mother Lakshmi."

>To the bar, Alethia glances to the Bar she regards Ivanova and Lakshmi
  then back to Demothenes.

*From the bar, Lakshmi smiles.

*From the bar, Ivanova tilts her head, "So it would seem Baron... so it
would seem." She concludes with another sip of her drink.

>From by the aquarium, Iason listens silently.

A glowing fish. How quaint. "A very interesting response indeed."
Fredhrick offers up a short whistle himself watching the cube glow
again. "The gift lacks the opulence of many the others we have
received, but we find it acceptable and pleasing for we know that it
is a gift given out of true affection for our person."

The seneschal announces, "The Bene Gesserit School."

Lakshmi leaves the bar.
Lakshmi walks up to the Emperor and curtsies, bowing low. She reaches
into her robes and pulls out a book.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes gives the Reverend Mother an
  interested glance.

Juseppe nods, "Thank you Your Majesty." Stands up with his cane and
  walks away.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes folds his arms, looking moderately
  entertained.

Lakshmi holds the book up and says, "Your majesty, I have a little
something for you to enjoy on your happy day. It is a history of the
Imperial musical theatre. I find that I don't agree with a lot of the
author's opinions, but so far as I knew while reading it, the facts
were exquisitely researched, and he should be praised for not trying
to pass his opinions off as facts. If you enjoy it half as much as I
did, it will give you many pleasant hours."

Lakshmi curtsies again, and hands the book to the seneschal. She glides
back to the bar and retakes her seat.

*From the bar, Ivanova tilts her head, "interesting." She responds to
  the Reverend Mother's words.

Lakshmi moves towards the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles faintly, "They certainly are
allowed a few liberties, the Bene Gesserit."

Fredhrick says, "We shall endeavor to draw as much enjoyment from it as
  you did."

*From the bar, Boris goggles again. "A fish...and a book. How...frugal."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Oh, like you spent anything for the ship."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Nicely done, by the bye, Boris."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia says, "What do you mean?"

"The Bene Tleilax Contingency." is announced.

*From the bar, Boris says, "Eminently practical, Reverend Mother. The
Emperor will spend countless minutes leafing through it. Perhaps he'll
read it on the throne, eh?"

Govindha leaves the bar.

Juseppe walks to the southeast and passes through the Low Arch.
Juseppe has left.

*From the bar, Ivanova covers her mouth and stifles a light chuckle at
  the Reverend Mother's words.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes says, "She left before she was
  dismissed."

Govindha approaches the throne, followed by the four other Tleilaxu. All
five drop simultaneously into full kowtows. As they lay prostrate
before the emperor, four figures in brightly-colored checkered tunics
carry in a large cage covered with similarly-checkered cloth.

Govindha and his entourage rise slowly. "Your Inimitable and Omnipresent
Majesty, in order that Your Majesty may greater enjoy this felicitous
occasion, we gift a small troupe of Face Dancers for Your Majesty's
personal entertainment. All four masters of their art, all four
beholden to Your Majesty's every will."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes arches an eyebrow.

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "No, dear Baron, in bed before he sleeps."

The High Master turns to the four brightly-dressed figures and, with an
outstretched hand, makes an intricate gesture. The four, identical in
build and feature, set down the covered cage and prostrate themselves
before the Emperor. Upon rising, each wears a different face than
before: one an old man, one a young boy, one a beautiful young woman,
  and one an old crone.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew rocks on his toes again, "Oh my... nice
  gift."

*From the bar, Iohannes , whose present was also a book, blushes
  slightly but remains silent.

Govindha faces the Emperor once more, and adds, "These, the best of
their kind, are perfect for Performances, Dances, Improvisational
Playing of Roles, and..." --he licks his lips-- "Personal Audiences.
But these are not the only gifts we have for Your Undying and
Incandescent Majesty." He gestures once more to the Dancers. "In
addition, we have for Your Majesty a Beast, a new and heretofore
never-seen Biological Product, designed for entertainment and
  wonderment..."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles, "Well, few can compete with
  the Tleilaxu for novelty."

The Face Dancers remove the cover from the cage. Inside, an odd little
creature sits quietly. Looking like a cross between an owl and a
marmoset, the little beast, seeing the light, coos in a gibberish
  tongue.

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Is that the sort of product you're buying,
  Baron?"

Using Beast, the Talking Beast says, "... ... ..."

Govindha smiles thinly, and continues. "Before Your Majesty sits a
Talking Beast, the newest addition to the incomparable Tleilaxu
menagerie. At the moment, he can only blink his eyes, wiggle his ears,
and mumble things in a gibberish language. But he learns! You can
teach him tricks, and as he listens to speech, he picks up Galach,
phrase by phrase..." The creature continues to coo to himself.
"Understand it, he doesn't, but speak it, he does..."

*From the bar, Ivanova lowers her drink as she speaks, "Four face
dancers, two geisha girls, a boat, and a frigate... many more gifts
and the Emperor will be able to open his own pleasure cruise." Her
voice is low and under her breath.

*From the bar, Boris grins. "That depends, Reverend Mother, if we can
eat it or fornicate with it, or use it as a weapon. Ideally, all
  three."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "But one would hope, in a different order."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "If it were me, I'd pick weapon, sex toy,
  and Then food."

The High Master continues to face the Emperor, but speaks as if to
address the rest of the Landsraad nobles. "This is the first of these
miraculous beast to be produced, but many more are on their way.
Reasonable priced and perfect playmates for children of high birth,
they can be obtained by contacting one's local representative of the
  Bene Tleilax."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "It's very cute, you have to give it that."

Fredhrick's curiosity is peaked by the covered cage and he leans forward
in his throne as though it could give him a better view of what's
beyond the bars. "A truly amazing gift. It learns and it parrots. We
are again pleased by the uniqueness of the Bene Tleilaxu's gift." His
eyes narrow a bit at the sales pitch however, "And the Face Dancers as
well. They will make a marvelous addition to our entertainment
  company."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia says, "Nice how he throws in a bit of
  advertisement for himself."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes nods, looking annoyed. "Now every
noble will have to buy one to stay in fashion. How insidious."

>From by the aquarium, Iason lets a look of distaste cross his features.
"I'm going to eat any one of those things that enters the Embassy."

*From the bar, Ivanova raises her eyebrow, "Cute... but what could you
  use such a thing for?"

*From the bar, Boris says, "I'd use it for bait."

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "To catch?"

*From the bar, Ivanova smiles and turns towards the Baron, "More fish
  perhaps?"

*From the bar, Lakshmi wiggles her eyebrows and suggests, "Ten-year-old
  girls?"

*From the bar, Boris says to Lakshmi, "Little Atreides children."

*From the bar, Lakshmi laughs softly. "Excellent."

The seneschal announces, "The Imperium would like to thank all those
that presented their gifts this evening...."

The Robed Figure moves forward in a swirl of black robes, cutting a
swath through the throngs of onlookers The figure then prostrates
himself before the Lion Throne and extols in a loud hearty voice, "O
most mighty and Sublime Padishah Emperor, May His Majesty live 10,000
  years!"

Govindha prostrates himself once again and departs.
Govindha moves towards the bar.

>From by the aquarium, Chiew turns to look towards the direction of the
  Robed figure.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia tsk tsk tsk, "No no no, Ambassador, you
can't eat them much to small."

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes chuckles faintly, "And what do we
have here? A barbarian from Arrakis?"

The Robed Figure takes in a deep breath, preparing himself to speak, the
figure however does not rise from its prostrated place before the
throne. "O most Glorious and Sublime Padishah Emperor, May His Majesty
live 10,000 years, my Master, my he live 1,000 years, has commanded
me, his most humble and unworthy servant to present unto His glorious
and Sublime Majesty, may His Sublime Majesty live 10,000 years, this
humble token of my master's esteem, may he live 1,000 years, in
celebration of His Sublime Majesty's, may he live 10,000 years,
birthday!" Again the figure takes a deep breath. Amazing that it got
all of that out in one breath.

The seneschal looks back towards the Emperor and shakes his head,
raising his shoulders in a shrugging motion.

>From by the aquarium, Iason says, "It means I can eat more of them."

The Robed Figure snaps it's fingers without rising, summoning the groom
  forward with his prize.

The groom slowly makes his way towards the throne, leading a magnificent
horse by the reigns. He pauses a short distance away, bowing down, but
holding the reins out for the seneschal to take.

Majestic Stallion clatters forward in a rhythmic tattoo of hooves, tail
and neck arched proudly. His gait is high and airy, as if his front
hooves rarely touch the ground, instead hovering just above the
  surface underfoot.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes arches an eyebrow for a moment. "It's
curious," he admits, "Now where did he hide that stallion before?"

Well not this is an interesting turn of events. Fredhrick rises from his
throne for the second time tonight. "A magnificent specimen. Rise,
cloaked one, and reveal yourself and your master to us. We would know
who sends us such a gift."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia chuckles, "Didn't you smell it?"

Majestic Stallion shakes his mane, his nostrils flaring indicating the
depths of his spirit. With a soft snort, he begins to prance
nervously, skittering a bit to one side.

The groom keeps a steady hand on the reins, not allowing the horse to
  get away from him.

*From the bar, Filarion glances to the stallion and the cloaked figure,
  not hiding his curiosity whatsoever.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes shrugs faintly, "My apologies. I
thought it was the Baron Harkonnen."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia laughs out loud, it comes to an abrupt
end as fast as it began.

The Robed Figure maintains his prostrate position and murmurs. "It is
my Master's wish that this gift be given to his mist Sublime Majesty
anonymously, so that it is shown to be truly from the heart."

Boris eyes the stallion with interest.

Chiew lets out a loud sudden burst of laughter.

Demosthenes leans over and murmurs an aside to his lady.

The Robed Figure rises suddenly and disappears into the crowds as
quickly and mysteriously as he arrived.

*From the bar, Govindha shrugs and leans over to Boris. He murmurs,
"Meh. We could have done better. Ours would have had six legs and a
  head at both ends."

*From the bar, Iohannes finishes his vodka, ordering yet another.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes mutters to Alethia, "... ... admit,
  ... a remark ... ... ... ... ... a magnificent ..."

The Robed Figure walks to the southeast and passes through the Low Arch.
The Robed Figure has left.

The groom obediently follows the robed one, saying not a word the entire
  time.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia covers her mouth to smother her chuckle.

>From by the aquarium, Steffan says, "mutter Demosthenes, "yea it sure
  sounds like him doesn't it..."

The groom walks to the southeast and passes through the Low Arch.
The groom has left.

Majestic Stallion nickers softly, his forehoof pawing lightly at the
  ground.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes glances at the archway, frowning, "I
wonder how he got past the Noukkers and the Sardaukar. He must be
  someone quite important."

>From by the aquarium, Chiew shakes his head and turns to the company at
his side, "You are most entertaining." He seems to phrase it as the
many but only looks towards Alethia. "I must be off. Return to home.
But I would like very much to call upon such a beautiful Lady again."
  He bows forward towards Alethia.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes smiles at the Siridar, and bows low.

Fredhrick motions to the guard closest to him, "Find him." Then he
descends from the throne towards the stallion and places a hand on
it's muzzle. "Yes, you are a magnificent beast indeed."

*From the bar, Boris chuckles. "And a bigger endowment, no doubt."

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head, "I doubt it, no one gets
past the Noukkers even if they could make it beyond the Saraukar.
Interesting though." She inclines her head to Chiew, "Good evening to
  you Lord Chiew."

Majestic Stallion snorts softly and cranes his neck forward to nuzzle
  the Emperor unceremoniously.

>From by the aquarium, Iason also bows to the Siridar.

>From by the aquarium, Demosthenes starts to chuckle as he rises. "Well,
it would appear as if he did come unannounced, and unknown to his
Majesty after all. Perhaps he /is/ one of those mythical barbarians of
  Dune?"

Majestic Stallion allows himself to be led away by the seneschal.

>From by the aquarium, Alethia shakes her head, "I've heard they never
bathe, their smell is legendary..." She regards the stallion, "He
would not have been able to get in here if he were possibly
  dangerous."

The seneschal steps forward, a bit weary this time as he announces,
"Er... the Emperor would like to thank you for all your gifts and
invites you all to stay and enjoy the wines and music." He turns and
  bows towards the throne.

*From the bar, Ivanova nods her head to those about the bar, "I believe
my task is done for the evening. I shall be retiring. Good night." She
inclines her head to each, making the deepest towards the Reverend
  Mother.

*From the bar, Lakshmi says, "Good night, Lady Rastanyev. I'll see you
  soon."

Demosthenes leaves the area by the aquarium.
Demosthenes moves towards the bar.

The presentation of gifts complete, Fredhrick speaks softly with the
