Ginaz Council Hall -- Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)
As you look upon the darkened chamber, you notice at the southwest is a
high rostrum that bears the symbol of House Ginaz. It has three seats on
its platform. On the north side of the hall are seven rows of tiered seats
each colored green in deference to the conservative party of House Ginaz,
while on the south the seven tiered benches are colored red in deference to
the liberals. An even greater seal sits upon a small table in the center of
the chamber, which has a smaller throne at its southwest head.

Gardens -- Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)
The gardens look as if a chunk of the Ginaz Homeworld Marcinko. The room
itself is circular and fills the center of the Ginaz embassy all the way to
the rotating colors of the crystal roof, and dimmed point of light that is
the Marquis' sitting room. The walls are for the most part covered with the
distinctive white Marcinko ivy, and at intermittent levels one can see
balconies as well s windows the look directly into this area. The gardens
are lush and green but the temperature is below normal. The room is a
series of hills the culminates in one large hill that spawns a waterfall.
The waterfall pools in a pond that must be fully one fourth the entire
room. All different kinds of plant life populate these gardens, but all of
them are native to Marcinko. The grass is thick and a dark green. The trees
are mostly pines and a deep green, with the exception of the snow white
Ginaz pine that dots the landscape. Atop the waterfall is a white marble
island with a walkway of differing color marble that lead to it.

The dark blue marble exterior of the embassy has seemingly desolved into a
gleaming white marble with gray veins in a circular room. There are high
arches and sweeping buttresses meeting the ground with Ionic style pillars
made of black marble with gold veins. A ceiling extends to the very roof of
the building. There is a kind of circle within a circle within a circle.
The flying buttresses sweep out and come down in the exact center of the
room ending in fourteen pillars. Between each of these pillars is a desk
with an attendant seated. The second circle is considered the inner circle.
This is made by a series of twenty-eight archways, which leave twenty feet
between the arches and the real wall, at each of these pillars stands a
Ginaz Out-world Guardsman in full-dress.

Courtyard -- Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)
Behind a wrought iron fence, with the seal of House Ginaz in the center of
the gate and two one man guardhouses, lies the open courtyard of the Ginaz
embassy. A road leads straight to the main entrance of the embassy,
encircling a four story fountain. The lawn around the building is a dark
green and groomed to perfection, with many pines and shrubs dotting the
area, in tastefully arranged randomness. The embassy itself is at least
thirty story structure designed like a giant six pointed Star of David. The
building itself is made of a dark blue granite that is native only to the
home-planet of the Ginaz. The embassy uses what would be considered a
Gothic style with flying buttresses and windows all coming to a point. A
'thopter pad can be seen atop the building as well as the rotating colors
of the crystal dome over the center of this gargantuan star.

Gil walks in from Foyer.
Gil has arrived.
Even in these supposedly hostile environments the young diplomat finds time
to take in the surroundings. He slowly steps into the Gardens.
Steffan strides in, heading for a table and chairs. "Please be seated. I
shall act hospitable today...Ah, such efficency....the staff have already
brought refreshments." On the table are several goblets. He sits down and
pours a yellow liquid into each of two goblets. "Its made from a fruit I
had never heard of.....until I came to Kaitain....I believe its
called....ummm...Lemonade. Please try some. Also....Im sure you are not
here to socialize....what can I do for you?"
Gil is wearing a knee-long yellowish buckskin coat over his dark suit - he
closes it around him as he notices the lowered temperature. Entering
without any escort into the stronghold of a traditional enemy the young man
is obviously tense.
Gil steps forward to table, finds his seat and instantly reaches for the
goblet but does not yet drink. As you will know by now the Na-Countes has
acquired all the privileges and responsibilities of ruling in the absence
of our beloved Siridar-Count."
Dominic walks in from Foyer through the Carved Glass Doors (E). has arrived.
Gil turns in his seat at the noise.
Dominic sees the two men there."Am I interrupting, My Lord?"
He then nods an amiable greeting.
Steffan hrms, "I had not heard....Im not involved I would say immediately
in such matters...." Steffan then turns to the new arrival, "Ah
Staatkanzler, please join us.....I wish to introduce you...This is our
StaatKanzler, our Secretary of State.....and sitting here with me is the
Diplomat Guillermo Moncasetti dEletto of House Moritani...."
Dominic extends his hand "Yes, I think we met outside the Harkonnen
Embassy for a brief moment. A pleasure to see you once again."
Gil confirms this, "Yes. That is correct." He shakes the offered hand.
"actually I still owe you a taste of Moritani wine."
Steffan pours a goblet of lemonade and places it on the table for Dominic,
"The good diplmat here was about to inform us of...." He trails off while
looking at the Moritani. "What DOES the Countess Valentina wish of House
Ginaz?'
The diplomat seems slightly more tense than when first they met.
Dominic smiles slightly at this comment. "Why, yes you do. I look forward
to receiving it.He sits .
Dominic picks up the goblet "Thank you, My Lord" and takes a slow sip.
Gil hrms in his hand and tries to focus on the matter at hand. "Yes, well.
It is quite a serious matter." He reaches for his goblet, notices that it
is still empty and sets it back with a slight clang.
Dominic fills Gil's goblet. "Here you are, good sir."
Gil looks at the goblet with curiousity, "The Countess has voiced her
unhappiness about the current Kanly between our Houses" - he seems to be
speaking to the table.
Guillermo drinks eagerly as if these few words has left his throat as dry
as after an extended staff meeting.
Steffan leans back sipping breifly of his goblet and then smiles thinly,
"Serious ...well...I imagined that. It has been along time since a Moritani
has stepped into our embassay. Yes, the kanly...and what do the Moritani
wish to do about it?"
Gil meets Steffan's gaze. Slowly, delibarately he says, "M'Lady desires
peace. She would end our longstanding Vendetta."
Dominic takes another sip from his goblet.
Steffan raises both brows in near astonishment, "I see......" Steffan
places the now empty goblet on the table, "and if I may ask why
now?....what incentive would House Ginaz have in settling the kanly?"
Dominic immediately fills Steffan's goblet.
Guillermo looks into his glass as if only just now realising that the sweet
liquid doesnıt contain any alcohol. Then he returns his full attention to
the Na-Marquis. "Well, it is my impression that she feels that more
pressing matters may soon challenge both our Houses.
Gil continues, carefully choosing each word "Also, she feels that the
Vendetta has dragged on beyond the reasonable - that it now is kept alive
by mere tradition and inborn bias." He pauses for an instant looking as if
considering some past event or trying to hold on to a stray thought. "Now,
Iıll be the first to admit, that I was born in to seeing your House as an
enemy and believing that things made me see things differently."
He settles back to measure the Ginaz' reaction.
Gil sits - possibly looking for support - or just worrying about his
impractical tactical position.
Dominic is thinking. His posture remains one of relaxing non-hostility.
Steffan eyes the diplomat a bit strangly and then adjusts himself in the
chair as if it were uncomfortable, "If the Countess didn't have the
imperial conditioning....I don't think I would take this very seriously.
Many of the Ginaz would say that House Moritani is not known for being very
trustworth Moritani. But perhaps such a proposal requires some thought.
However recently our own laws do not allow me personally or my father to
end such a thing soley. The House Ginaz parliment must agree to end the
Kanly..."
Dominic whispers, "perhaps, My Lord, I should make a visit to the Moritani
embassy to gauge the validity of this.....gesture."
Steffan takes a deep breath, "They will be reluctant to end it....many
still wish revenge for their losses...they will not be easy to convince. It
would be easier with some type of tangible gesture on hrms, "A gesture of
goodwill...."
Gil nods in Steffan's reaction to his liking. "I understand this. And none
of us would want such a ... drastic step to be taken too hastily. But even
Chardonnay grows in dry soil - and yet we find wine from its grapes to be
delicate. Could not a friendship between our Houses - growing from the
desolate battlefields - bring forth a similarly fine and appreciated wine?"
A sincere smile follows the rosy words lending the statement a measure of
credibilty. "As for compensation ... did you have anything in mind?"
You whisper, "Yes, actually it would be more convincing to hear it from the
Suk Countess herself tha.
's words.
Dominic whispers, "Then, My Lord, after we finishing speaking to this man,
I will accompany him immediately to their embassy and seek to speak with
her. This way, they have no time to prepare a facade for me and i can judge
them more easily."
A smile starts to form over Steffan's face as he sips a bit more lemonade,
"Well ..well if the Countess is indeed performing the Counts
reponisiblities. Well, as I remember the Arrakis-Spice contract is coming
up for bids. House Ginaz could use such a contract and the Moritani
directorship could help us get it...."
Dominic smiles at Steffans comment.
Guillermo seems to consider the claim amusing as put forward as an
amusement. He smiles and says, "Well, now. The way I see this, House
Moritani might as easily be the ones asking for compensation." He raises
his eyebrows in a questioning gesture and continues. "I am here only to
/plant/ this seed - and measure the fertility of the soil, so to speak." He
drinks again, the early trepidation apparently now completely vanished.
"But I do think we should discuss these matters further at a later point -
give the good representatives of House Ginaz time to come up with something
slightly more ... realistic.""
Steffan laughs almost inaudibly, "Yes realistic, perhaps an exchange of
favors is in order....something that would benefit us both. However some
favors would be beyond my purview, but Im sure if it were in exchange for
something that would end the Kanly perhaps that would be incentive enough
to end it..."
Gil is toying innocently with the goblet, setting the last of the lemonade
to dancing. He nods at Steffan's statement. "Exactly. Even if it seems to
me that the ones benefiting the most from peace in the first place would be
the Ginaz - considering their current situation." He brings the dance to an
end by swallowing the golden liquid.
Steffan leans back, the expression going blank, "Current situation? of
what do you refer to?"
Gil tries to pierce the blank facade of the Na-Marquis, and the gathering
of strength in his eyes makes his whole body tense imperceptibly. "I mean
only that while House Moritani is currently consolidating on all fronts,
the last Ginaz I met - unofficially - was going to Marcinko with the firm
believe that he might very well not survive." He breaks rhetorically to
measure any reaction. "Maybe some trouble that we could help you with?"
Steffan hums with a smile, "oh THAT....well a handfull of misguided
misfits who are ill-trained and misled. It will take us longer to get there
and back by heighliner than it will to capture them and place them
somewhere where they can't hurt anyone. They are merely a distraction.....I
haven't given them much thought. I didn't know our such unimportant matters
would interest anyone....even we don't give them much thought..."
Rosler enters the Gardens from the West where the Foyer is. He wears a
white suit with a cape attached to his shoulders that reach down to his
ankles. He walks in without noticing the others that occupy this area.
Dominic glances in the direction of Rosler.
Gil waves his hand in a dismissive gesture, "as I said, /someone/ in this
household seemed to take them quite seriously. But be that as it may. I do
have /something/ that could be considered a friendly gesture ..." He stops
at the sound of the new arrivee.
Steffan ahhs at Rosler's entrance, he then looks at the Moritani diplomat,
"This is our illustrious warmaster, Lord Rosler" He then motions a hand at
the Moritani, "And this is the Mortani Diplomat Guillermo Moncasetti
dEletto ....who has come to see us...."
Gil nods at Rosler, acknowledging his presence.
Guillermo obviously doesn't feel that the illustriousness of the Warmaster
warrants his standing up and he just nods curtly and halfsmiles.
Steffan motions for the Warmaster to sit and then he pauses for a
moment. He then looks up at Rosler as if having difficulty with chosing his
words, "The Countess wishes to end the kanly between our two Houses. We
were just discussing how this might be acomplished...."
Rosler comes to the three occupants in the room. He bows his head to all
of them respectfully letting his black hair flop into his eyes. He takes
his right hand and sweeps it back into place after he is finished with his
bows. He turns over to the Moritani diplomat. He frowns a little for he is
a little uncomfortable to be around a Moritani. "Greetings, sir diplomat of
House Moritani." He spoke in a low but calm tone of voice.
Gil refills his goblet while introductions are made and picks up his
speech more or less where he left off, pointedly ignoring the Warmaster.
"Well, the more the merrier, I guess since what I am about to propose is an
offer extended to all of House Ginaz. See, I am also to pass on an
invitation from so that she herself may convince you of the benefits of
concluding a peace between our Houses: A state dinner with both our Houses
in full attendance. And hopefully His Imperial Majesty will be able to
grace the proceedings with his presence as well." He drinks.
.
Gil still doesnıt seem to have fully come to terms with the concept of
lemonade if his current expression is to be trusted.
Rosler scans the features of all who is in his presence. He stands there
with nothing else to say and just listens to the conversations as theey go.
A bit of nervousness suddenly creeps into Steffan's voice, "His Majesty?
VERY well, such an invitation House Ginaz cannot turn down. However I must
apologize, it is unlikely the Marquis will be there for he is away on
business. Where shall such a state dinner take place?"
While waiting for Steffan's reaction Guillermo gains confidence and says,
"in a weeks time, at the Moritani Embassy."
Steffan hesitates for a moment at the mention of the embassay, "Well, you
must realize that is somet pauses a moment to smile ".... I tell you what
as a gesture of good faith we WILL meet you at the embassay.....we await
your formal invitation..."
Any trace of secret anger is washed away by a sudden and radient smile. "I
was hoping you would come to that decision. And I must admit that I have
been worrying about the contents of this ... concoction." A smiling grimace
accompanies the word.
Steffan smiles broadly, "I wish no offense, but little would be gained
from poisening your drink. Killing the messenger before the message is
heard ....well...IS unwise so I have been told..."
Dominic grins at Steffan's statement.
Gil doesn't wish to argue on Steffan's status or stir Dominic into some
rash action. "Now, Sirs, if you'll excuse me, I must be returning to M'Lady
with the good news."
Steffan stands and nods, "I look forward to this.....meeting. It has been
along time since we have talked peace....perhaps now we can make it
work..."
Dominic looks in Gil's direction "Perhaps we could speak for a short moment
before you leave the embassy.?"
Guillermo bows respectfully to Steffan and says "My Lord, it has been a
privilige talking to you. Let us hope this talk will bring changes for the
better."
Gil then turns to Dominic. "Certainly, maybe you could escort me to the door?"
Dominic nods "Of course, good sir." He turns toward Steffan."Good evening,
My Lord. I will escort our guest out of the Embassy."
Steffan nods, "I must say....it took courage to come here....it will not be
forgotten....and perhaps it is time ....to bring changes for the better.."
Dominic bows toward Steffan and motions for Gil to follow him.
Gil accepts the compliment with just the barest nod. "Nothing that compares
to the courage it will take to make these ... revolutionary ideas come into
full bloom. Goodbye."
Dominic turns to Gil "House Ginaz thanks you for your visit here today. I
was wondering if I might visit you at your Embassy as well, perhaps even to
meet with the Na-Countess?"He smiles at Gil.
Gil looks suddenly very tired and he stops a few steps into the foyer.
Dominic grins "Relax, good sir"
Gil wipes his brow and breathes slowly. "Certainly. You should. We have
unfinished buisness."
Dominic smiles "Excellent. If I may be so bold, would tonight be an
appropriate time? I will of course understand if you need to first return
to your Embassy and speak with the Na-Countess. I can wait here for your
invitation."
A lean, young man carrying a relaxed elegance that leans from the feline
towards the feminine. Long strands of auburn hair streaks his forehead,
just failing to obscure his vision - eyes green and piercing as pine
needles. He has an all-year tan suggesting a love for the outdoors, and a
few freckles accentuates his all-round boyish appearance. The disorderly
immediate impression is augmented by a calm, practised etiquette in
mannerism and gesticulations. Still, even when concentrating to look like a
courtier a certain rustic naturalness remains. He is dressed in a dark
bordeaux suit and sharp, elegant shoes of a chestnut-like texture. An ebony
signet-ring with a motif laid out in mother-of-pearl adorns his right hand
- no other jewellery is visible.
He starts walking again - his step markedly heavier than at his coming. "I
think the Na-Countess may be busy in the days leading to such an important
event as our feast. I for one is absolutely spend and would not, I am
afraid, be able to fully appreciate the kind of bouquet I have in mind for
you." He smiles apologetically. "I am sorry - some other night."
Dominic nods understandably "Of course, I understand completely. I will
look forward to hearing from you and I hope to have the opportunity to meet
with you and the Na-Countess before the banquet. Good Evening, sir."He bows
slightly to Gil.
Gil says "Well then, goodbye." He walks from the Embassy, his walk gaining
strength and confidence anew with each stride.
