Justine vs The Mentat

Note: Ever since Justine's injury, every time she has awaken, Misha, her bodyguard, and Hesakaya, the Ginaz Mentat, have always been there. Needless to say, Justine is not happy about this. She also isn't impressed with the new Mentat, as he always seems to have his information wrong.
====================================================================================

Justine lies in the large bed, on her back, with her left arm out to the side and bent at the elbow so her hand rests palm up beside her face and her right arm lays still beside her with her hand on her stomach. She seems very peaceful, despite the events that occured last night and the blood stained bandage on her chest.

Hesakaya quietly opens the door and closes it behind himself again. Then gently he knocks on the doorstill.

Misha looks up from his chair, he was reading "Master of Assasins"

Justine still remains sleeping.

Hesakaya nods, speaking in a soft and calm voice. "How is the lady Garamond doing?"

Misha puts his book down "She has slept well, I have been with her throughout the night, and she hasn't stireed much"

Hesakaya nods quietly. "I...came to make ammends...."

Misha puts his book away "I am sure she will awaken soon, she has slept for a considerable amount of time, the drug teh suk adminstered should wear off soon...."

Hesakaya nods again and finds a seat. "Then i will wait til that moment arrives."

As if on cue, you hear a quiet moan from Justine and notice her body stir slightly.

Misha rises and looks to her

Hesakaya remains seated, not wanting to impose on the lady's waking.

Justine goes to roll over and a sharp pain gives her a rude awakening. She whines in pain as she grabs her chest, rolling onto her back again. She sighs heavily and asks, without opening her eyes, "Let me guess, you're still here, aren't you, shadow?"

Misha sits down "Yes My Lady"

Justine grumbles quietly, "wonderful"

Hesakaya remains in his chair, quietly observing.

Misha says, "The Master of Assasins is here to speak with you"

Hesakaya holds up his hand. "In due time..Allow the lady the time to refresh herself before recieving me. Certain etiquettes must be obeyed."

Justine's left hand slowly moves away from her face and feels along the empty space beside her on the bed. Her fingers linger over the bedspread, causing a deep frown on her face. She can tell that he hasn't been here and then wonders why she continues to have any hope at all as she draws her hand up to her stomach, meeting with the other one. She listens to Misha speak and mutters, "Oh goody, just the things I like to wake up to. My Shadow and the Miscalculating Mentat. Is this going to become a ritual or is this how you welcome new people into the House?"

Misha furrows his brows and leans back

Hesakaya ignores the cutting remarks in his direction. Instead he makes a mental note of them and processes how they fit in the whole picture.

Justine lies still and quiet, waiting. Minutes pass with a tense silence and finally she sighs heavily and snaps, "I'm waiting!"

Hesakaya slowly gets on his feet, walking towards the bed. "Milady Garamond. It seems....my peers at the academy...have had some fun with me...fabricating an unfounded filmbook on house Ginaz which they then gave to me as the original..."

Justine's brows furrow in confusion and then ask, "What does that have to do with me? I am not in any filmbooks of House Ginaz."

Hesakaya says, "In this book...you were...or better said...a consort was mentioned suffering from paranoid delusions..."

Misha arches his eyebrow, but says nothing

Justine's eyes roll, "My dear misinformed Mentat, perhaps I should teach you something that you should have been taught long ago. Never trust fully in what is said to you, nor in what you read. Always trust in what you see around you. Words are nothing, actions are everything. A person can easily control their tongue but in the far depths of their mind, even that they cannot control. Look around you for answers, if you cannot find them there, then look into the eyes of those you wish to seek answers from. That is where you will find their souls."

Hesakaya frowns as his pride gets a serious blow here. "Milady. I came here this morning to make ammends.

Apparently milady judges a person rather on his mistakes, which makes ammends only futile." He turns to face away from you. "Maybe it is time you focus your anger of the situation on others more deserving than those who try to make your stay safe and comfortable."

Misha listens, silently, one may think he wasn't there, as even his breathing is barely heard

Justine's head shakes and then says, "Figures that you can't handle knowing that someone might actually know something you don't. I didn't give you that advice out of spite nor out of condemption but as friendly advice. I was told that Mentats were taught that early on in school. If I didn't wish to attempt to make ammends, do you think I would have been kind enough to have offered such valued advice? No, I would have insulted you, which I didn't. Learn to swallow that pride of yours, learn to see things from all angles and your job will be a lot easier. As far as your comment about my anger, perhaps you're right. However, the Marquis isn't here right now for me to release my anger out on but you two are. And since you are here on his bidding and refuse to leave me alone, then you will continue to get the blunt of it until I finally have some sort of privacy around here. My stay will not be safe nor will it be comfortable as long as I continue to be forced to stay here, forced to have people constantly around me and I'm being treated as a prisoner. Until such time that things change, then you'll just have to deal with my anger and my nasty disposition. If you don't want to, then I've accomplished my mission and we'll all be happier."

Hesakaya crosses his arms. "And where would you go?..."

Justine smirks, "Do I look as if I am capable of going anywhere, Mentat?"

Hesakaya turns towards the bed and slowly crosses his arms. "Your spirit wants to fly like a bird...your status binds you to this place...since your spirit will not abide to your status we look at conflict...conflict spawns chaos...thus..we need to take away the conflict...we need compromise here...How would milady feel about this?"

Justine is silent for a moment and then her lips pull back into a small smirk, "The Mentat has finally gotten something right. My congratulations to you. I was beginning to lose faith in you but you've restored some of it." She thinks for a moment and then says, "I do not need protection while I am within the walls of the Embassy, I do not need a Shadow, of any kind, just to move about the Embassy and the grounds of the Embassy."

Misha is still silent, listening

Hesakaya nods. "There is truth in this, however, every beginning is a delicate time. therefor we must be cautious, regardless."

Justine's eyes roll, "Oh please! Do you know how many times I have been here in the past yet never had a guard? I didn't need one then and I don't need one now. You asked for a compromise and I gave you one. A very reasonable one at that. If you cannot heed to it, then be prepared to deal with my wrath." She winces a bit and closes her eyes as she brings a hand to her wounded chest.

Misha shifts in his seat, his hnds moving a bout for a moment before settling back down to his original position

Hesakaya says, "with all due respect milady, the situation has changed. you are now the marquis future consort. Before you were merely an....aquaintance..."

Hesakaya turns his back to misha, placing his hands on his back.

Justine's head shakes a little again and says, "I am /not/ his consort nor will I be! And I wasn't merely an aquaintance before either. The last time I was here, I was engaged to the man on my own terms." She smirks to Hesakaya, "You just lost the faith you gained back, Mentat. You're in desperate need of facts and I suggest you get them quickly...and the right ones this time."

Hesakaya holds up his hand. "What, milady, is the first rule of compromise?"

Justine smirks, "That both parties have a shred of intelligence. Sadly, I seem to be the only one with them."

Hesakaya shakes his head. "common interest...that is the first rule. Your guard is following his orders as given to him. I was ordered to make sure he followed them. Only one man can lift them and you know who this is. Therefor, I must have something I can offer him in return of less stringent security measures."

Justine smirks, "Then bring him to me so I can deal with him. Otherwise, the only thing I have to offer is your lives. Meaning, if you abide by my compromise then neither of you will be in any danger. If you do not, I cannot and will not promise the safety of either of you."

Misha arches his eyebrow, but once again saying nothing, not really bothered or intimidated by her statement

Hesakaya says, "my life is to serve. It may be taken at any time. Be it in your presence or elsewhere..."

Misha finally speaks, his voice soft "My word bond was given to protect you with my life, and I will give it gladly"

Justine shrugs, "Then it's a waste, your life should be taken for a far greater cause. I do not feel as if I am asking too much from either of you. I only wish privacy while I am on the grounds. As much as I do not like it, I am willing to compromise and have 'Shadow' here, follow me whenever I leave."

Hesakaya ponders. "IF....your quarters are your own....will this meet with your satisfaction?"

Justine's eyes narrow on Hesakaya, "/If/?? Why would I share quarters with a man that I deny being married to? As much as I would love to move to my own quarters, I cannot. The Suk will not allow me to be moved just yet."

Hesakaya shakes his head slowly, moving his hands on his back again.

Misha brushes his hands against his face

Hesakaya says, "Very well. I will inform the Marquis of your stance and advice him your demands are fair. He can then name his terms to seal the compromise."

Justine smirks, "You're too kind to me, Mentat. If he has a problem with it, then I advise you bring him here so he can be the one to receive the anger that is sure to follow. After all, it's his place to take the blunt of it, not yours."

Hesakaya moves carefully to the bed. "As my first task here was to make ammends, maybe it is still not too late to do so." From within his overcoat he produces a small box he can hold within the palm of his hand. The box is wrapped in goldfoil. Carefully he places it at the footend of the bed.

Justine's eyes follow the Mentat's actions carefully and then rest on the box for a moment before looking back to him, "I appreciate the sentiment, Mentat, but I cannot accept it. Please take it back."

Hesakaya shrugs and takes it back, gently tapping the box to make it open and revealing a single flower. He carefully places the flower in a waterbowl on a small table. He only remarks. "Regulan orchids. It's said their perfume is soothing. If you won't accept it as a peace-offering I will leave it as a peace-offering to the room. It's beauty shouldn't have been scarred by our battle of words."

Justine looks to the flower and frowns. She sighs as her eyes close, "I'm sorry, but I am allergic to them. I honestly do appreciate the thought though."

Hesakaya dips the flower into the water. "As you wish" Carefully he lifts the orchid out and, without any other destination for it wraps it in a handkerchief.

Justine's eyes open and looks to Hesakaya thoughtfully, her voice calm and tender, "Honestly, I appreciate it, Mentat. But I am allergic to them." She pauses for a moment and then adds in a more quiet tone, "Tulips are my favorite and I am not allergic to them."

Hesakaya nods softly. "processed..."

Misha leans back in his chair, watching the interaction, quiet, as he can be

Justine nods a little, her eyes growing heavy.

Justine mutters quietly before she falls asleep, "Tell your Marquis that if he does not abide by my compromise then he will leave me no choice but to summon for the Emperor and tell him of my imprisonment. I'm sure he will not be pleased to hear such news." She yawns and then slowly falls into a slumber.

Hesakaya nods watching justine fall to sleep.

Misha stands and walks over to the Mentat "I was most impressed Master of Assasins"

Hesakaya quirks a brow. "Were you? I must say i was not...This woman has outmatched me on every field like a Bene Gesserit Truthsayer. Some mentat I am..."

Misha nods "She comes form a fallen house, I am sure she has had to be on her toes all her life..."

Hesakaya nods, rubbing his forehead as if having a headache. "We must win her trust and show her the truth of our intent. If she were a threat the suk would not have rescued her.

Misha nods and returns to his seat, picking up his book "You are correct"

Hesakaya takes a seat on the chair he vacated earlier and takes out a handkerchief to wipe his brow.
