Justine meets Novak

I apologize for not giving an introduction or anything with the LC log, it's late and I wasn't thinking. I also didn't notice until I was editting this one that +thinks don't show up when I log for some reason, so I apologize for all the +thinks that were left out of the meeting. I put in a bit from the meeting at the beginning of this one, to refresh everyone's memory as to why Justine approached Novak in the first place. Enjoy!

====================================================================================

From House Ginaz, Justine leans towards you slightly and whispers out of the corner of her mouth, "I'm sure you've thought of this, My Marquis, but I think the allowance of a new House might be a good thing. One can always use more allies, especially in cases of war." She then sits herself straight again.

From House Ginaz, Steffan smiles and whispers back, "Indeed it would. We know little of Venhei but I have heard that they lean more towards our values and those of the Bajazet rather than Harkonnen and the Moritani." He leans back in his chair smiling and whispers again, "Perhaps YOU can go and speak with them. See if you can forge new relations with them."

From House Ginaz, Justine's head turns towards you and a brow rises, "Me, Marquis? I am not a diplomat. That job is reserved for those you have appointed in doing so."

From House Ginaz, Steffan looks up at the council as the annoucement of adjournment is made. He sighs and pulls his portfolio closer to him, "Nonsense, I am too busy at the moment to address a new house. We are not negotiating any kind of treaty or asking for any favors at the moment. We simply desire to know more about them. Besides, as Marquise, they would have a great respect for you." He looks up as he sees others leaving, "Time to go my dear Marquise. "

From House Ginaz, Justine frowns slightly but nods and whispers, "Whatever you wish." She stands stiffly and leaves the seating area.

You leave the Ginaz seating.

Steffan walks to the east and passes through the Double Doors.

Steffan has left.

Novak walks to the east and passes through the Double Doors.

Saudir I Plaza -- Central District (Kaitain)

The avenue loops about a large FOUNTAIN, which is fed from the mouth of a golden lion statue at the center. The pavement is a smooth black material. The avenue branches off in three different directions, providing access to other areas of the city.

Justine hurries to try to catch up to you and calls out, "Excuse me!! Lord Venhei??" She is a bit out of breathe but not overly so.

Novak slows his pace, soon coming to a stop. He turns around, a smile across his face, "Yes, my Lady?"

Justine slows her steps when you stop and as she is where she needs to be, she curtsies, bowing her head out of respect and smiles warmly, "Greetings, My Lord. I wish to introduce myself, if it is not asking too much."

Novak bows in response, "Not at all my lady, I've got nothing but time on my hands." smiles.

Justine maintains her warm, gentle smile as she curtsies once more and softly says, "My name is Marquise Justine Lear, wife of the Marquis Steffan Lear of House Ginaz. It is a pleasure to meet you, kind Lord and welcome you to Kaitlain and also congratulate you on the aquisition of House Venhei."

Novak nods, "Thank you Marquise Lear, it is undoubtly a pleasure to meet my Lady. Though I'm sure you heard at the meeting, I am Baron Novak Dusko Venhei-Obrenovi, of House Venhei."

Justine seems slightly offended at the fact that you did not bow in return but she quickly covers it with a wide smile and a slightly flush to her cheeks as she embarrassingly admits quietly, "To be quite honest with you, dear Baron, I only caught you saying that you had aquired the House. My deepest apologies if I have offended you by not paying closer attention and I promise that I will do better in the future. Tonight has been a long evening and after hearing the slander, threats and curses of the Moritani, I tend to tune things out. I'm sure you understand?"

Novak nods, "Of course my Lady, but there really is no need to apologize. It happens to the best of us." Scratching his eyes with his hand rapidly, "Yes, it was a bit long, and I was not able to attend the whole meeting... I did miss the slanders of the Moritani I'm afriad."

Justine chuckles lightly and then smiles warmly as she clasps her hands in front of her velvet dress. Her ice blue eyes sparkle with kindness as she continues, "You did not miss much, I assure you." She notices the rubbing of the eyes and frowns a bit, "Oh, I beg your pardon, My Baron, I did not mean to keep you." She offers an apologetic smile, "Again, I apologize but this time, for my ramblings. I know you are a busy man, but I was wondering, if you ever have a free moment in your busy schedule, I'd love to welcome you more properly to Kaitlain, that is, if you do not mind. We, I mean, House Ginaz, would be most honored to have your House over for dinner soon. Or, if that is too much, we could meet elsewhere for tea perhaps?"

Novak rubs his right hand through his thinning black hair, "Or course we... Venhei I mean, would enjoy a dinner with House Ginaz. Then perhaps we can immediately return the favor and host Ginaz?"

Justine's warm smile broadens at the counteroffer and nods her head to you saying, "We would be most honored. I shall contact you soon with a date for approval. Until then, please take care of yourself, dear Baron Venhei-Obrenovi." She curtsies out of respect, not because she has to. After all, she's on the same level as you, if not higher.

Novak bows in return, "Until then." He quickly turns and continues from his original path. A bit more hurried this time as to not envoke any more interuptions.

Novak walks to the south and moves along the Imperial Boulevard.

Novak has left.

You walk through the Arch.

Marquis' Bedroom -- Ginaz Embassy (Kaitain)

As you enter the room, you catch a burst of clean fresh air. The room is decorated in various wood furnishings and accented with red, white and black timmings. The walls are covered in rich tapestries and paintings of various styles, while the floor is covered in one large, richly woven rug. At the back of the room is the large, cherry wood, four poster bed and on it is red satin bedding with an Eagle embroidered in the center. Thin, sheer white curtains hang from the cherry wood rods attached to the bed's posters, and can close when one wants some privacy. Black rope hangs on the posters and are meant to tie back the curtains when not in use. To the left of the bed is a nightstand, with a white porcelain basin with gold accents, a pitcher full of water and a couple of red towels that lie near the basin. Two large cedar chest of drawers are positioned along the wall to the right of the bed, while a large dark cherry desk with a matching chair sits near the side wall to the left of the bed.

Justine appears in the archway of our two rooms and stops in the middle of it to knock on the siding. She's still wearing the dress she wore to the meeting earlier and has a slight frown on her face. Other then that, it's emotionless.

Steffan looks startled at first and sees Justine standing there. He seems to be putting some of his things away.

Justine bows slightly and states in a dead tone, "Forgive me for disturbing you but I just came from meeting and talking with Baron Novak Dusko Venhei-Obrenovi, of House Venhei. I welcomed him to Kaitlain and congratulated him on his aquisition of House Venhei in the name of House Ginaz and he seemed most pleased. He seems like a nice man, although, I was not able to talk very long with him as he was tired. However, I took the liberty of inviting him and his House over to the Ginaz Embassy for a dinner in their honor. He seemed even more pleased with the idea, accepted it and offered to host one for us in return. He awaits to hear from me again, on a date for the dinner. Please check your calendar at your earliest convience and instruct me on when to arrange the dinner for House Venhei."

Steffan raises a brow, "A dinner huh, nice idea. Hmm, lets do it as soon as possible. Perhaps later this week, perhaps Wednesday? I would like everyone to be there if possible..."

Justine nods slightly and quietly replies, "If that is your wish, I will send a mail at once to the Baron, asking if his calendar is free for that day."

Steffan smiles," Very good. Please arrrange it. "

Justine inhales deeply just before she bows slightly again, her frown deepening somewhat, "As you wish. Will there be anything else?"

Steffan hrms, "I was about to ask the same, is there something about the Venhei that troubles you?"

Justine's head shakes, "No, my Lord. They do not trouble me."

Steffan nods, "are you sure, you seem...well, troubled about something.."

Justine lowers her head a bit and quietly says, "My apologies, My Lord. I did not mean to."

Steffan smiles, "no, apologies not necessary.....but if something does trouble you, you are free to tell me. "

<<Justine thinks: Tell, yes...understand, no.>>

Justine nods a little, "Thank you, My Lord, but you have more important matters to be concerned with. Is there anything else you wish me to do?"

Steffan hrms, "nothing I can think of at the moment. I had to delay Dominic's promotion again, we hopefully will take care of that soon as well. It would be good to get everyone to attend that too.."

Justine's head lifts back up to you with a raised brow and states, "If you tell them they must attend, then they must. One cannot disobey your orders."

Steffan hrms, "indeed, ...I realize that, but..well, I don't like to order everyone around for such things. Such a promotion is a reason for celebration, and so we shall.."

Justine nods a bit, "Very well, you are the Marquis. However, if you mention that it would please you greatly if everyone attended, then it would be hard for one not to. After all, who would not want to please the Marquis?"

Steffan smiles, "indeed, you put it quite well..."

Justine simply replies in her dead tone, "I only speak the truth."

Justine bows slightly before turning around and heading back into her room.
