Dune III - Ulricke - Saturday, August 26, 2000, 9:02 PM
-------------------------------------------------------
Ulricke is showing off her dress for her father and brother.
Ulricke(#1290PeACF)
Ulricke Harkonnen is a tall young woman that appears to be in her early twenties. At just an inch under six feet tall, she manages both statuesque voluptuousness and lithe athleticism. There's nothing soft about her, yet she maintains an almost aggressive femininity. Her white-blonde hair is sleek and straight, falling to the shoulder and framing her face. Her blue eyes tend to vary in shade depending on her mood; the more intense her emotion, the more bright and intense they become. Her eyelids have been shaded with silvery gray shadow and outlined with kohl to emphasis her eyes even more. Her high cheekbones have been brushed subtly with shadow, and her full lips, which glossed lightly to luscious effect, provide her with an arrogant, dangerous beauty. The image is assisted by her confidant, predatory stance and movement.
The two piece dress is a rich, royal shade of blue, and made of a light, silken fabric. The top is a simple tube bandeau, in a sleeveless halter style. The shirt is cropped to just above the navel, where a glistening, dark blue jewel has been set. The skirt, ankle length and made of the same material, is a sort of split skirt divided into two pieces. The back piece is hemmed at the top to drape from the inside of each part of her hip all the way around to the back, while the front section is worn loincloth style in the front. While covering her lower body completely, it allows her to reveal her long, svelte legs, all the way from her sleek upper thigh to her soft and elegantly pedicured feet. Her additional ornamentation are a solid silver necklace with a large, dark blue sapphire twined in smaller silver wire, and a coiling wire upper arm band also made of silver. Her skin has been dusted with a faintly sparkling silver sheen, causing her skin to glow luminously.
Ulricke just looked at you.
Boris is ogling his daughter admiringly. "You are a picture of grace and deadliness, Uli!" he beams, cupping her chin in his hand. "Andrei, will you come and look?" he insists.
Sylvie enters the garden from the traffic loop, looking less than her usual picture of health and wearing a new pin on her dress.
Andrei approaches with a nod. "I agree father. As far as concubines go father you truly picked the perfect match of genes to create a creature as feline as my sister." He gives Ulricke a chaste kiss on the cheek whispering. "You'll make them all pale in comparison."
Boris chuckles. "Blue and silver always warms my heart. But Uli looks lovely in or out of her dress." Spotting Sylvie, he extends a hand to her. "Ah, my golden Sylvie! Come, come. Tell me about your busy day, eh?"
Ulricke preens appropriately and kisses her father and brother's cheeks. "Thank you! I hope to do the House proud. We'll be the talk of the Landsraad if I've anything to say about it, before the night is over." she looks over. "Lady Sylvie...you look positively exhausted. Did you manage to sleep a bit before the fete? It's going to be a very busy night."
Sylvie approaches the small group and smiles weakly, "Yes, I slept. I'm afraid our first lesson at the school was on poisons and I'm not feeling so well."
Sylvie just looked at you.
Boris chuckles. "Poisons? Nothing ruins the appetite like that, eh? Andrei, do you remember the first slave you poisoned? Just gave him the barest dose of murky and the fellow was puking for days!"
Andrei watches his father's concubine with interest as he stands next to his sister.
Sylvie says, "I'll get someone to...maybe Sen has something to perk me up? And I'll get changed for the party. Don't worry, I'll be shining by party time."
Ulricke suggests, "Just stay off the dance floor, Sylvie. If you need to, just lay down in the Salon - that's where the orgy will be happening, but someone will make sure a chaise is clear for you."
Sylvie nods to Ulricke, "Thank you. I just need, maybe some rachag."
Boris steps close to Sylvie and takes the pin in his hand, where it's pinned to her dress. "And this is Nestor's new symbol, eh? I just hope he remembers that it's the Harkonnen School, not the Nestor School. Sylvie, you must be my eyes and ears there, eh?"
Boris Harkonnen is a great bear of a man, his body a slab of muscle now turning to fat with age. His head is shaven bald, his full white beard plaited in braids that spill down his barrel chest.. Crystal blue eyes glint maniacally under bushy white brows. He wears a red leather singlet with a stiff high collar, the silver ram's-head insignia emblazoned on his left breast. Black trousers, with a red stripe down each side, are tucked into his knee-high gleaming boots. An elaborately gilded kindjal is worn in a thigh sheath. Boris' left leg is in a cast up to his knee, the cast of dappled plasticlike material that flexes as he walks.
Long golden blonde hair with an uneven part tumbles to the middle of her back in loose, bouncy curls. She has a fair complexion and dark brown eyes fringed with gold-tipped lashes, beneath pale eyebrows. The delicate curve of her cheek imparts a gentle quality to her face but a mischievous smile lingers at the corners of her full lips. She is tall and slender, her body well-toned from years of outdoor activities.
Sylvie is wearing a dark blue gown with three-quarter length sleeves and embroidered with silver thread. The tight bodice has a scooped neck and a tailored waistline that emphasizes the curve of her breasts and her narrow waist. The textured fabric of the skirt flows over her long legs to her feet, where she wears soft moccasin-like boots. On her wrists are multiple strands of colorful cloisonne and ceramic beads.
She also wears a medium-sized, gray lapel pin in the shape of a profile of an open hand, each finger lined up neatly beside the next.
Sylvie smiles at Boris, "You know you can trust me, My Lord."
Andrei casts a casual sideglance towards Ulricke and suddenly starts staring intently. With a delicate touch his fingers poke her hair. "is that dandruff?"
Ulricke bats his hand away. "Andrei!" she glowers at him. "Please don't muss my hair so early in the evening."
Andrei grins impishly. "Just keeping you on your toes."
Sylvie offers Boris a kiss on the cheek, "I'll go get ready and be right back."
Boris plants a kiss on Sylvie's forehead, then turns to go. "I've still to get dressed myself, eh? Where's my valet! I swear if he's wrinkled my tunic I'll wrinkle his hide!" He stalks off caning away.
Sylvie giggles and walks toward the embassy building at a more sedate pace.
Boris :offers his elbow to Sylvie as the two of them head off towards the embassy.
Announcement: Sargon shouts, "The Harkonnen Fete will begin around 8:30 EST. Guests will be admitted around 8:15. If you plan to attend, you may begin making your way to the Harkonnen Embassy shortly. Remember to look at the party object in the Garden when you arrive."
Sylvie takes the Baron's arm and can be seen whispering to him as the walk away.
Andrei watches Boris leave to change. Making sure he is out of earshot but still inside he starts humming the song of the Scorpian tripod-beetle, the cadence of the music perfectly falling into place with Boris' way of walking.
Boris mutters to Sylvie, "... "We'll... this... Sylvie. My..."
Sylvie grins knowingly.
Ulricke elbows Andrei gently, giving him a look. "You promised, remember?"
Boris walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Boris has left.
Sylvie walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Sylvie has left.
Ceile walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Ceile has arrived.
Klaude walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Klaude has arrived.
Ulricke immediately walks to Ceile and Klaude. "Lady Ceile, Doctor.." she addresses both the concubine and the Suk. "Welcome to the Harkonnen Embassy, and thank you for attending our fete." she smiles at them both.
Standing at no more than 5'4" tall, this woman's height is hardly what makes her stand out in a crowd. Sparkling cool gray eyes, flecked with pale ice-blue around the iris' edges, gaze unsettlingly out from under a thick curtain of black lashes, failing to hide her warmth or intelligence. Her complexion is fair and creamy, and lead to her bow-shaped lips, which are a warm-pinkish-hue, curve softly into a smile. Rich hair, a deep rusty-brown in colour, is twisted up around her head in an elegant style, several tendrils left to curl around the sides of her face and neck.
The gown she's chosen to wear is quiet impressive. The bodice is low cut and a deep green in colour, it's sleeves cutting across her shoulders, leaving their upper portions bare. The sleeves themselves are perhaps two inches in width, leaving the rest of her arms bare. The bodice is simple in cut, and fits snugly with beadwork covering it's front in a matching green hue, decending in a graceful 'u' shape into the skirt of the gown. As she moves, the beadwork catches the light and seems almost to shimmer softly. The skirt is double-layered, the top layer being of the same green colour, beadwork down the split edges and hem. The under layer is a soft cream shade, intricately woven with threads of the colour of the overskirt.
Before you, Dr. Tordarsson is a man about average height, and the wear of age has started to show on his slender face with miniscule crows-feet and his jet-black hair graying at the temples. His hair is just past shoulder length as his institution requires and bound with a silver ring near the ends. He has attentive and observant eyes the color of slate, the conspicuous Suk red diamond tattoo on his forehead just above his eyebrows, and a scruff of a dark beard. The tips of Klaude's somewhat thin moustache are groomed and waxed in a distinctive manner that brings them straight outward to finish in tapered points. His uniform consists of an understated grey, collarless, longsleeved jacket with teal-colored buttons, darker charcoal trousers and shined black shoes. He carries himself with a collected, non-threatening demeanor, keeping himself always finely poised and professional. His speech, although well-mannered, often subtly betrays a past rural influence away from the metropolises of his home planet.
Andrei stands in the background. After all, this is his sister's party, lets not steal her place in the limelight. He casually awaits her to greet the guests and a proper introduction.
Klaude bows slightly from the waist as he is greeted. "Good evening, Lady Ulricke. It is a great pleasure to accept such a gracious invitation to such an opulent fete."
Klaude notices the na-Baron glancing over, and turns to him, offering his hand. "And not to mention your hospitality as well, Lord."
Ceile moves quietly through the door, apparently in no hurry to join the festivities of her first formal occation since her BG healing. As she's approached, she does, however, smile warmly, bowing her head slightly before tipping it back to look up at the woman. "Thank you, Lady Ulricke. It is indeed, as the Suk said, a pleasure."
Ulricke gestures. "This is my brother, Na-Baron Andrei Harkonnen. Andrei, this is Lady Ceile, Concubine to His Majesty, and Doctor Tordarsson, Suk of House Alvstad. I hope you enjoy yourselves, please allow any of the house slaves to see to any of your needs."
Ulricke adds, "You look marvelous, Lady Ceile - you honor us by allowing our little gathering to be your first attendance since your recovery. I hope you have a wonderful time."
Klaude just looked at you.
Justine walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Justine has arrived.
"I can not hide in the Palace, Lady Ulricke." Ceile responds quietly before turning and bowing her head once again to Andrei, before once again turning to speak to Ulricke. "Besides, I thought I might enjoy meeting you."
Andrei looks at the offered hand and decides to shake it, the smile kicking in a fraction too late. "The pleasure is all mine doctor. I hope you will enjoy yourself." Quickly he turns towards Ceile and bows, showing a lot more respect. "Milady Ceile, it is a privilege that we may welcome you here at this time."
Justine wanders into the Garden area, escorted by a couple of Ginaz guards. Her steps are slow and careful, but appears to be well considering recent events. The only hints left of the incident are minor scarring on her face and her left arm being in a sling.
Ulricke nods. "I will make an effort to steal a few moments to talk with you more pointedly then, Lady Ceile. I'm sorry that I can't do so most immediately, but I'm rather ardent about my duties as hostess. And ahh, the Marquessa. Would you excuse me so I may greet her?"
Justine stands before you at approximately 5 feet, 11 inches and an estimated weight of 130 pounds. Her long, straight, Honey Blonde hair is pulled back and braided at the sides with silk ribbons entertwined in the weave, the rest falls down loosely to her mid back. Her heart shaped face is free of any sort of blemishes making her seem to appear younger then she really is. Her cheeks are high boned and flushed in a touch of red that barely shows through her seemingly natural tan, a golden tan that accentuates her ice blue eyes and appearing to make them shine even brighter and richer then most. Her lips are small and thin, tinted with a natural rose color. You also notice that high on her right ear is a single, sparkling ruby earring and if you look to her left ear, you'll notice the mate is not there.
The tight-fitting bodice is delicately embroidered with white and an overlay of frost, short puffs of sleeves cling to her shoulders and then flow down to her wrists with a ruffled cuffs. Softly ruffled skirts of delicate rose-pink swirl about down to mid calf as she moves, hemmed in a deep flounce of white lace. Matching silk ribbons are braided loosely into her hair, the ends fluttering down her back.
Smiling, Ceile nods. "I understand well your duties." she replies, though as the Marquise is mentioned, her eyes widen. She turns towards the door, and a smile lights her face. "Justine!" she exclaims, taking a step forward before stopping herself to allow Ulricke to do what she must.
Andrei already has forgotten his promise to his sister and moves out of her shadow. With a firm stride he walks up to Justine and bows curtly. Seeing Justine's arm i a sling he decides it's better to dispense with kissing her hand "I bid you welcome Marquise to our fete. I hope your trip here wasn't all too...boring?"
Ulricke grins a touch. "It seems my brother has beat me to the punch." she says. Well, she really doesn't mind. After all, he'll need to know how to do this as na-Baron, and it makes her job easier.
Slaves promptly offer the new entrants food and drink. "My lord?" a young slave offers a platter of canape to the Doctor.
Justine's head is currently nodding to those around that she passes as she makes her way towards the center of the garden. She looks around for the familiar voice and smiles brightly in return, nodding to Ceile from where she is, calling back, "Greetings, Lady Ceile. It tis good to see you again." Her attention is now drawn to the Lady and Lord approaching her, so she bows from the waist and smiles pleasantly, "Greetings my Lord and my Lady. Tis a pleasure to see the both of you. Forgive me for not knowing either of you, I haven't that honor just yet. As you seem to already know, I am the Marquise of Ginaz, Lady Justine Garamond-Lear."
Klaude decides to stroll about the garden walkways, stimulating his intellect in observing the flora if Geidi Prime as he awaits his Alvst colleagues.
Klaude takes a canape from the slave, nodding his thanks before blinking at the taste of the hors-d'oeuvre.
Andrei smiles. "I Lord Andrei Borovich Harkonnen, heir apparent to the house and this lovely creature here is my sister, the lady Ulricke. Our father lets himself be excused. Matters of state that were pressing tore him away from welcoming everyone in person."
Ulricke chimes in, "He should be present very shortly. Marquessa, it is a pleasure." she curtsies. "Please enjoy our hospitality."
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 2867, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Requesting clearance for Lady Andragoras.""
You clear the vehicle over your communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 2867, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Ulricke."
Justine bows slightly again, her smile broadening, "Then it indeed is an honor to meet the both of you. I understand about your father, it is not at all surprising. Seems he left wonderful and most competant replacements in leu of his absence though."
Klaude responds in kind. "Certainly, Lord Andrei. I am sure that heads of state often have concerns that unfortunately detract from more social pursuits."
Andrei smiles to reinforce his sisters words and then feigns interest by looking around before asking Justine. "Is your loving husband the Marquis not accompanying you Milady?"
Sartori walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Sartori has arrived.
Justine's smile drops just slightly at that and then shakes her head and replies, "No, I'm afraid he is not. Like your father, he had pressing matters to attend to. I hope that I am acceptable in his place?"
Ceile remains standing where she is, patiently waiting for the formalities surrounding Justine to be completed. As a servant approaches her with a tray of fruit, she waves them away, but not before offering him a smile and a thank you.
Sandra walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Sandra has arrived.
Lena walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Lena has arrived.
Sartori glances about and notes Lady Ceile " Ah lady Ceile!"..he offer a quick nod to Justine "Mlady"
Ulricke interrupts, "Of course, Marquessa. Please let any of the slaves know if you need assistance - there are plenty of chaises in the salon, in fact, I can have a slave carry a chair for you if you wish!" she grins. "Would you excuse me for just a moment? I must greet our newly arrived guests."
Andrei takes a dep breath as his smile broadens. "Milady, I am sure my sister will excuse me if I offer to be your company for the fete....that is, if you would appreciate having such company?"
Klaude grins broadly, sweet relief on his face. "Lady Lena, at last you have arrived."
Boris walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Boris has arrived.
Sylvie walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
Lena walks in alone with a mischievous smiles. She brushes some curls from her face and approaches the Lady Harkonnen first. She curtsies, "My Lady Ulricke. You look stunning."
Sandra walks in with a click of her heels and is accompanying Sartori. Sandra is supprised to see Ceile present and then looks about some
Sartori bows to Sylvie
Ulricke returns the curtsy and purrs, "Lady Lena, you look equally magnificient." she leans in close to give her aquaintance a hug.
Justine nods to Ulricke, her earlier smile returning, "Thank you, but that's not necessary. I've been sitting for far too long. Standing shall do me some good." She chuckles to Andrei and answers him, "I appreciate your most kind offer as well and perhaps, a bit later I might take you up on that, but for now. I would like to mingle a bit." She glances around briefly before looking back to Andrei, "Would Master Nestor be attending, perchance?"
You whisper, "Next time you plan to back out of something previously arranged, have the courtesy of informing me, dear. We Harkonnen get...cranky when embarrassed." to Lena.
Boris stumps in on his cane, his leg in a cast, Sylvie on his arm. The usual knot of slaves and retainers follow along in his wake. He offers a smile as he approaches the crowd. "Ah, my friends, my guests! Welcome, welcome to all of you. Is not my daughter a wonder?"
Ulricke says aloud, "I see Lord Mintor is not with you. Perhaps he will be arriving later?" she casts Boris a fond look.
Sylvie smiles at Sartori, "So nice to see you again, Burseg Gamut."
Andrei smiles and nods with a bow. "But of course milady. I hope you can forgive me my forwardness....it is not often I am in the presence of such beauty. As for master Nestor, he should be around somewhere. Maybe father knows more."
Sartori glances at the baron but smiles at Sylvie " Thnak you M'lady"
Lena smiles with good cheer. "My Lady Ulricke he will be joining me presently. Duties detained him."
Boris scoffs, "In this Embassy? Nestor is always with us," he sets a finger by the side of his nose and winks, laughing.
Ceile glances over towards Boris as he appears amid all his normal pomp and circumstance. Drawing a deep breath, she somehow manages to refrain from rolling her eyes, and even manages a smile as she bows her head to him, and then to the woman on his arm. "She is all one might expect a daughter of yours to be."
Sandra mutters to Sartori, "... think... fien..."
Lena whispers, "Mintor has stood me up I think."
Sartori walks over to Boris " Pardon M'lord"
Justine's lips curl up into a large grin and bows slightly herself to Andrei, "Your compliment is very kind, too kind, but accepted and appreciated. But there is nothing to forgive." Her head shakes, "No, no need to bother the Baron over something so trivial. If he will be here, I'm sure that I will see him. And once I'm done mingling, I shall try to find you later as well, if it pleases you."
Boris grins at Ceile. "I'll take that in the spirit in which it was attended, Lady Ceile! And have you met my concubine, Lady Sylvie Biencourt?"
You whisper, "Really? Do make sure to let it be known all over the party." to Lena.
Klaude approaches Justine. "Lady Marquise, it is a pleasure to meet you at last."
Boris stands near the alligator pond.
Ulricke grins at Lena. Apparently she's able to forgive...though an easy bet would be that she doesn't forget.
Sandra is still with Sartori, but seem just looks about and seems to remain quiet
Lena whispers, "I will, with pleasure."
Andrei nods, this time takng Justine's uninjured hand and kissing it lightly. "I am in milady's debt. I hope you can excuse me. M duties for tonight continue."
Ulricke grins and excuses herself turningn now to Sandra and Sartori. "Sir and Lady, welcome to our fete."
Sylvie stands near the alligator pond.
Ceile stands near the alligator pond.
Sartori follows the Baron but nods to the speaker " Pardon Baron Harkonnen if i may speak?"
Justine nods to Andrei with a smile, "But of course. Until later, My Lord." She begins to move away until she sees Klaude and gives him a confused look, "Pardon....?" She lets it hang, as she doesn't know if he is noble or staff or what.
Sylvie curtsies to Ceile, "My Lady, an honor to make your acquaintance."
Andrei heads over towards his sister and gives her a chaste kiss in the cheek.
Klaude presses his palms together in a gesture of calm, and bows from the waist slightly. "Oh, excuse me, m'Lady; I am Dr. Klaude Tordarsson, Suk in service to the Viscount Alvstad. It is a sublime pleasure."
Sartori bows respectfully to the Baron " it is a pleasure to be here M'lord Baron" he gestures to the woman with him and this is LADY sANDRA"
Boris says to Sartori, "Ah, Burseg, of course." clearly not rembering the man's name. "Good to see you. I hope all's well in the provinces?"
Ulricke accepts the kiss, looking on in amusement as the uncouth Sardaukar nods at her. Well, he is just a soldier. To Sandra she says, "I hope you enjoy yourselves."
Sandra deeply curtseys to the Baron and then smiles softly at him as she still remains quiet and stands by Sartori
Iason walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Iason has arrived.
Sartori smiles slightly " as always M'lord Baron"
Tall and stately at about 6' even, this thin and somewhat austere figure has an air of quiet dignity about him. His profile tends towards aquiline; his nose thin and sharply defined, his eyes a bright green hue, and with a thin-lipped face and long-fingered hands. He is dressed severely, a tight black jacket of vaguely martial cut worn with similarly tight dress pants and calf-high leather boots of a similarly coal-dark hue. The only splashes of color on his clothing are the white cuffs that frill out a bit around his wrists, along with the silver and white gold braiding that works around his shoulders like traced epaulets and down his sleeves. A small green emerald medallion cut in the shape of the Atreides hawk dangles from its gold chain about his neck, setting off his bright green eyes brilliantly. His motions are smooth and graceful, and a small smile curves his lips up at the corners as he glances around impassively.
Sartori stands near the alligator pond.
Sandra blinks lightly as she does finanly notice Ulricke and smiles. Sandra stands near the alligator pond.
Ulricke promptly turns, stepping torward Iason. "Ambassador..." she beams, "Thank you so much for coming." she extends her hand for him. "I hope we shall see the Duke and na-Duke this evening also?"
Lena approaches Klaude and Justine. "Dr. Tordarsson it's good to see you, and in good health," she says in jest.
Justine nods to Klaude and smiles to him, "Ah, I see. It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Tordarsson. I'm sure you serve the Viscount well and you must be very good at your craft to be working for him. He demands a high level of ability from his people."
Iason walks into the gardens, bowing deeply to Ulricke. "They are delayed by duty, though will strive to attend this evening." he replies.
You say, "How marvelous. But you are an excellent representative of the House, and I am glad you've come. Please enjoy our hospitality."
Andrei offers a stiff military bow to Iason. "ambassador..."
Justine looks to Lena and bows at her waist to her, "I wish to offer my condolenses, my Lady. For the actions of a former Ambassador of Ginaz. When I heard the news, I was greatly upset and immediately took action. I am only sorry that it had to be as lenient as it was. But I assure you that it will never happen again."
Sandra mutters to Sartori, "I know of... not... to... Sirider?"
Iason straightens slowly, murmurs, "It would be my pleasure." then he dips again to Andrei in a perfect, respectfully deep bow. "na-Baron."
Klaude nods to Lena, and chuckles heartily before again addressing the Marquise. "This is true; fortunately I am well acquainted with particular Alvst medicinal remedies. Which reminds me: I hear that the Marquis has an unfortunate leg injury. Is he well?"
Klaude gently slaps his forehead. "Oh, where are my manners? Marquise, may I introduce Lady Lena Andragoras of Radek, Undersecretary of Imperium and Landsraad for the Viscount Alvstad." He bows low to Lena, in due regard for her position.
Sartori Riases a single eyebrow " Alas M'lord Baron.m unmarried"
Marco walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Marco has arrived.
A lone man emerges from the traffic loop. As he nears one came see the bright blues that betray their owner. Don Marco approaches with a wry smile with his hands clasped behind his back. Clothes elegantly clean and pressed. He offers a graceful bow upon entering.
Justine rises and nods to Klaude with a smile, "Yes, I am familiar with who she is, I am only sorry that I have to know her from poor circumstances. But yes, he has a hurt leg, but it shall be fine in time. I appreciate your asking and will let him know you did."
Sartori gestures to the woman with him this is lady Sandra Laio M'lord Baron"
Ulricke excuses herself and flits to greet the newly arrived guest.
Lena curtsies to the Marquise. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Marquise."
You say, "Lord Marco! Truely a pleasure. Be welcome to our fete.""
Sartori smiles at Aldy Ceile " Mlady"
Sartori Nods breifly to Marco
Klaude nods to Justine. "Yes, I would most appreciate the honor. As a matter of fact, the Viscount insists out of his concern for the Marquis that I offer my services in assisting his recovery. Perhaps at his convenience a medical visit could be arranged?"
Iason bows a bit to those others in attendence as he passes through, heading for the refreshments.
Justine smiles to Lena, "Please, Lady Justine will be just fine. I hope this means that you accept my apology?"
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 1034, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Marquis Steffan Lear requesting clearance to the Harkonnen Embassy.""
Andrei ambles over to a slave, getting himself 2 glasses of brandy, finishing them back to back and then taking a third.
You clear the vehicle over your communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 1034, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Ulricke."
Justine steps into the shade of the dogwoods.
Marco offers a nod to the Lady Harkonnen, "Thank you Lady Harkonnen."
Klaude steps into the shade of the dogwoods.
Steffan walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Steffan has arrived.
Lena steps into the shade of the dogwoods.
Sartori gestures Ceile " If i may M'lady..speak a moment?"
Ulricke gestures. "Enjoy our hospitality. There's marvelous entertainments to be had in the main hall." And with that, she moves to the new entrant. "Marquis." she smiles. "Thank you for coming." she curtsies.
Marco takes a glass of wine from passing slave. Studying the room he notes faces he knows and does not. He smiles as he walks in to the fete.
Iason's fingers hook around the stem of a wineglass, plucking it off the tray of a passing slave. He sips at the clear liquid, eyes roaming the room to make note of who's present.
Steffan enters the Gardens, shooshing around on his suspensors. A low humm can be heard coming from a belt on around his waist. He is low to the ground, a caste on his leg just above touching it. Several bandages hold the caste in place. He surveys the area, one of his guards standing just behind him.
Marco stands near the alligator pond.
Sartori nods Marco
Klaude steps out from under the dogwoods.
Iason's eyes roam the area, flicking from face to face.
Ulricke is greeting Steffan as he floats forward.
Steffan with a little smile, he nods to Ulricke, "Thank you, our suk was kind enough to allow me to attend tonight. The guard here is only to assist me, nothing more.."
Boris nods. "I'll join you, Sylvie! Come, let us greet our guests properly. Come come, all, much to see inside the hall! Who's with me?" he offers his elbow to Sylvie and stumps off on his cane towards the Embassy.
Mikael walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Mikael has arrived.
Boris steps away from the pond.
Sylvie steps away from the pond.
Sartori narrows his eyes at the entrance of the barons son
Sandra watches Boris goes and seems disappointed by his leaveing
Andrei sees his brother arrive and quickly downs the third brandy. A sneer creeps on his face and he heaves the glass to throw, but catches himself looking at his sister. Remembering the promise he made he puts the glass back ona tray and heads inside.
Andrei walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Andrei has left.
Boris bellows, "And someone get me a drink!"
Sartori taking lady Sandra's hand he smiles "Would you like to see more M'lady?"
Boris walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Boris has left.
Marco steps away from the pond.
Sylvie walks alongside the Baron, into the embassy.

Sylvie has left.
Marco walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Marco has left.
Sandra shurgs slightly to Sartori "Well maybe their Ballroom?"
Mikael watches his brother's traditionally Harkonnen control over his emotions with professional disinterest. He gives his sister a longsuffering look and nods a bow to everyone else in the room.
Sartori walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Sartori has left.
Steffan begins to move away towards the dogwoods, his guard trying his best to keep up.
Sandra walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Sandra has left.
Ulricke continues to greet guests as Boris lead folks into the embassy proper.
Iason follows the group into the Embassy, keeping a proper distance from the House Major nobles.
Ulricke smiles at Mikael. "Mikael, darling. Come be a dear and attend Lady Lena, would you? It seems her original escort is nowhere to be found." her eyes glint.
Steffan steps into the shade of the dogwoods.
Klaude steps into the shade of the dogwoods.
Ceile hrms softly as she's left by herself quite suddenly. After a moment, she looks down to the mushroom wine she'd been prompted into taking, and quickly deposits it on a passing slave's tray.
Mikael shoots Iason a thoughtful glance at that "Very well sister" he murmurs and gives Lena and those nearby her a wan smile.
Ulricke walks over to Ceile, inquiring, "This seems a quiet moment, did you wish to have that quiet chat?" she smiles.
Iason walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Iason has left.
Mikael strolls towards the dogwoods and crouches down as he reaches the group, pulling one hand out of his pocket. Steel glints in the light; a small stiletto. Mikael leans down and delicately cuts a black lotus from the ground, rises and sets it in his buttonhole.
Ceile stands another few moments on her own near the pond before sighing softly. Turning towards the doors leading into the embassy, she decides she might as well find someone to converse with to pass the time she needs to spend for proprieties sake.
Ceile walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Ceile has left.
Justine's eyes wander as she listens to the Suk speak to Steffan after handing that over to him. She notices Mikael when he approaches near the dogwoods and watches him with idle interest until the blade is revealed. Her body tenses heavily, frozen in place but relaxes when the man merely cuts a flower. She sighs quietly and offers the man a smile and nod.
Ceile walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Ceile has arrived.
Ceile stands near the alligator pond.
You stand near the alligator pond.
Mikael beams amiably at Justine as he watches her reaction and sets the knife back in his pocket. "Marquis.. m'Lady Lear" he murmurs "And Lady Andragoras, what a distinct pleasure. You look " he casts around in his mind for a suitable adjective. " very green" he settles on with a grin.
From near the pond, Ceile stands another few moments on her own near the pond before sighing softly. She turns towards the doors into the Embassy, and is about to dare to venture in when Ulricke approaches her. With a smile, she turns back to face the other woman. "Quite for both of us, indeed. It would be best to take advantage of a rare time such as this. I'm certain other duties will call you later this evening, and the Baron has agreed to show me the Salon. He insisted I see it..."
Justine nods again to Mikael and remembers him from the Bajazet party. She smiles and says, "Hello again, Lord Harkonnen."
From near the pond, Ulricke's lips part, her eyes flashing with amusement. "The orgy is being held there." she explains.
From near the pond, Ceile blinks, her eyes widening in shock at that blunt announcement. Apparently, she had been completely unaware of that fact. "The...orgy?" she repeats, the colour draining from her cheeks.
Lena grins at Mikael. What a compliment. "Thank you Lord Mikael. You look very handsome this evening as always."
From near the pond, Ulricke seems a bit amused by the reaction, but tempers it. In fact, she seems a little sorry for the Imperial Concubine. "Why, yes. It's usually the highlight of the fete. Harkonnen tradition, you know. Attendance is not required, of course..."
Mikael nods. Well of course he does. He offers his arm "Perhaps you could join me inside, away from the through traffic as it were"
Lena takes Mikael's arm and smiles with amusement. "It would be my pleasure."
Klaude steps out from under the dogwoods.
Mikael slopes off towards the embassy building, murmuring something into Lena's ear as he goes.
Mikael walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Mikael has left.
Lena walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Lena has left.
Justine watches the two talk and just follows along behind the two of them, quietly.
Klaude walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Klaude has left.
Pers walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Pers has arrived.
From near the pond, Ulricke seems a bit amused by the reaction, but tempers it. In fact, she seems a little sorry for the Imperial Concubine. "Why, yes. It's usually the highlight of the fete. Harkonnen tradition, you know. Attendance is not required, of course..." *repose*
Justine walks to the northeast and passes through the Fanmetal Gate.
Justine has left.
Steffan walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Steffan has left.

Justine has left.
From near the pond, Ceile shakes her head slowly. "I know that." she mutters, as colour returns quickly to her. Indeed, her cheeks redden quite suddenly, and her eyes flash as she glances towards the doors where Boris had disappeared earlier. "The Baron assumes too much." she adds quietly, her voice completely lacknig the friendly, cheerful note it'd held moments ago.
An Alvstad entourage, mostly composed of seamen and pages, led by the High Admiral, passes through the Garden. They disperse slowly into the Embassy, breaking up into small groups of two or three.
Pers walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Pers has left.
Mikhail walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Mikhail has arrived.
Tat'iana walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Tat'iana has arrived.
Satyavrat walks in from Traffic Loop through the Fanmetal Gate.
Satyavrat has arrived.
Ulricke excuses herself from Ceile for just a moment, and steps over to the Rastanyev contingent.
Ulricke smiles. "Your Excellency and Lady Rastanyev...it is a great pleasure for you to join us." she nods to Satyavrat as well. "You'll be pleased to know the liqueurs you gifted me with are a success amongst the other guests."
Satyavrat smiles and laughs quietly, but forbears from verbal reply until his Earl speaks.
Of average height for a woman, Tat'iana carries herself as though she were taller than she actually is. Her chin is angled proudly, her ivory complexion smooth and flawless. Thick, dark lashes ring steely-grey eyes, which tip up at the corners. The silken curls of her ebony hair are piled atop her head in an artful, and intricate arrangement, with silver combs serving to help hold it in place.
Her gown is of a deep midnight blue -- simple in its cut and style, yet, elegant. Pinned to the front of her bodice is an ornate, but obviously antique, brooch depicting a phoenix, wings outstretched gloriously. Matching velvet slippers cover her feet, the toes of which peek out from beneath her voluminous stiff skirts.
Tat'iana inclines her head graciously, a warm smile pulling at her lips. She, too, remains silent, until Mikhail speaks...
Tat'iana just looked at you.
His Excellency smiles genuinely at the Lady Harkonnen, his cheeks flushing a darker shade of red than usual. He murmurs quickly in Russkiy to a small group of Cossack guards, they quickly retreat into the limo. "I am glad that our humble liquer is so well liked by your guests, Milady."
Satyavrat just looked at you.
Ulricke grins across to Lady Tat'iana. "And may I say you are in a color most becoming, Lady Tat'iana." she looks to everyone. "Most everyone is inside enjoying the rest of the fete's delights, so do not let me keep you. The Lady Ceile and I will be along shortly."
Ceile stands by the pond, where she'd been speaking with Ulricke a short time ago, quietly waiting.
Tat'iana chuckles softly, peering around Mikhail to Ulricke. "And you, dear Lady Harkonnen, are as always too kind. Stunning as usual. I am still jealous..."
Ulricke chuckles. "Please, join everyone in the Main Hall. I'll be along shortly." she curtseys by way of excuse, and moves back to Lady Ceile.
Sartori walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Sartori has arrived.
From near the pond, Ulricke explains quietly once she returns, "My Lady, I assure you that my father wished to pay you a compliment he pays any beautiful woman. Had you no desire to enjoy the pleasures of the salon, he would not be the least bit offended. You must forgive we Harkonnen, we often forget our sensibilities are somewhat broader then most others. But I must beg your forgiveness - I am needed inside. Will you walk with me, Lady?"
Sartori walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Sartori has left.
A soft chuckle escapes the Earl's lips. He gently touches his sister's elbow, reminding her that they ought to be off into the hall. "As always a pleasure," says the Earl off-handedly, the comment seems rather out of place here. The Rastanyev party makes its way into the hall.
Tat'iana bows her head once more, and slips her hand through the crook of Mikhail's arm, to rest her hand lightly there as he leads her in.
Tat'iana walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Tat'iana has left.
Satyavrat walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Satyavrat has left.
Mikhail walks to the south and passes through the Burnished Doors.
Mikhail has left.
Marco walks in from Giedi Hall through the Burnished Doors.
Marco has arrived.
Marco walks to the northeast and passes through the Fanmetal Gate.
Marco has left.
From near the pond, Ceile remains silent for a long moment after the explaination is given, her jaw clenched as she obviously tries to calm herself. "I understand what you're saying, and I must admire your defence of your father, my Lady. However, the Baron knows well enough I am bound to another, and have no wish of his 'compliments'." Drawing a breath, she then nods. "Yes, I'll join you..."
You climb the bank away from the pond.
You walk through the Burnished Doors.
Giedi Hall -- Harkonnen Embassy (Kaitain)(#492RantJ)
The imposing domed hall is a tribute to the Harkonnen homeworld. Directly overhead, a star-shaped skylight filters daylight through thick red glass, casting an iron red radiance into the room like that of Giedi's muted, red sun. At night, a myriad of tiny glowglobes form constellations against the backdrop of the dark blue and silver dome. Underfoot, a mosaic of tiny floor tiles creates an intricate, spiraling pattern, like a river of azure and teal.
Deep niches along the polished bluestone walls are lit by floating glowglobes and filled with bronze statuary depicting famous Harkonnen victories. Alternating with the niches are doors leading off into various chambers and, on the east side of the room, a broad majestic staircase leads up to a wide circular landing of white marble trimmed in gold. At the south end of the Hall, twin scantily-clad, blonde slave girls stand on either side of a pair of carved ivory doors.

Boris calls after Mikael, "Black beard? if it's that bastard Haroon, you pin him down for me until I can get there!" he jests.
Ceile walks in from Garden of Bitterblooms through the Burnished Doors.
Ceile has arrived.
Lena takes Mikael's arm and nods a farewell to the Baron.
Klaude chuckles at the departing humor, and steps forward to meet his host. "Lord Baron, it is a sublime honor to make your acquaintance. Dr. Klaude Tordarsson, Suk to the Viscount Alvstad."
The acrobats, fire-eaters, and various entertainers part to reveal Ceile and Ulricke emerging. The Harkonnen smooths over her rather unusual gown, and announces, "Has everyone had a chance to enjoy our lovely ballroom yet?" she beams, giving Ceile a brief smile, she moves to head over to her father.
Mikael walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Mikael has left.
Lena walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Lena has left.
Cabal climbs up the Spiral Stairs.
Cabal has arrived.
The Warmaster walks in at a near gape as he attempts to wave off several annoying military advisors accompanying him, each with their own urgent business to discuss with him. As he enters the Hall, he replaces his rigid military bearing with a more subdued noble one and adopts a smile like some pathetic war-orphan he took pity on. He stops briefly to search out the Lady of the hour but begins approaching Boris first as etiquette demands.
Boris greets Klaude. "Ah, Doctor Tordarsson, a pleasure, eh? Suk., are you?" He indicates the cast on his leg. "Tell me something, why is it you bastards can't create a cast that doesn't bloody itch! Eh? Answer me that!
The gong chimes once more near the entrance to the grand ballroom.
Klaude bursts in laughter before he can stifle it. "Ah, true, Baron, very true, but with your rugged constitution I am sure you shall be out of it before you can think about tossing it out the window."
Ceile returns Ulrickes smile, though her's is somewhat more tight than it was earlier, and she too moves towards Boris, trailing behing the other woman. She turns her attention towards the Baron as she approaches, something less than friendly flashing in her eyes, and she makes no effort to hide it, for once.
Boris harrumphs. "I'd like to toss my Suk out the window, Doctor. Pigheaded little twerp, he is! Are you all so disagreeable, ordering your Siridars about like tradesmen?"
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 2867, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Lady Sarah Dartania of House Moritani asks clearance.""
Ulricke interjects smoothly, "Daddy is indeed a man of great stamina." she oh's, and presses a notch on her arm circlet.
You clear the vehicle over your communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 2867, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Ulricke."
Klaude smiles. "It is only for your own health, Lord. You shall have ample opportunity to order your Suk around after he finishes ordering you, as you put it."
Tat'iana looks around, observing the other nobility present this evening. With curiosity, her eyes linger over the Baron, though her nose wrinkles slightly at the raucousness displayed. Quickly, she passes a hand across her face, smoothing her features once more into a neutral pleasantness.
Ceile slides up behind Ulricke, stopping within the circle of conversation. "Indeed, and a man of grea presumption." she adds, arching an eyebrow.
Boris senses, "Ulricke rolls her eyes in Ceile's direction."
Boris says, "Yes, Doctor, what an excellent point! I'll look forward to that, eh? Go on, enjoy yourself in the ballroom or have a go in the Salon."
Sylvie walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
Klaude nods sweetly to Ulricke. "Indeed he is, Lady." He turns back to the Baron. "Many thanks for your hospitality. I believe I shall."
You sense: Boris raises a brow in your direction. He makes a brushing off gesture, subtly.
Klaude bows once more and steps aside.
Marco walks in from Garden of Bitterblooms through the Burnished Doors.
Marco has arrived.
Sarah walks in from Garden of Bitterblooms through the Burnished Doors.
Sarah has arrived.
Sylvie steps out of the ballroom and approaches the Baron.
Boris greets Pers. "Lord Admiral Eskilsen! Now this is an honor, old boy! How are your submarines, eh? I admit I don't know how you stand it in those things."
Marco enters in with Sarah on his arm. Not sure of where to go he steps back to the side of Sartori.
Sylvie says, "My Lord, there are ladies without partners in the ballroom...we must have more men in there."
Ulricke smoothly steps over to the newcomer. "Lady Sarah, it's a pleasure to have you here. Please feel free to enjoy the dancing in the ballroom, or the pleasures of the salon." she smiles.
Sartori nods at marcos arrival and bows slighty to the lady
The Alvst Warmaster steps up to the Baron behind the Suk and bows smartly to him in an Alvst military salute. "Good evening, Lord Baron," he says with a slight smile on his lips. "And I find the submarines to be a pleasant comfort after the raw wind and surf of the open water." The man pauses for a moment, obviously unaccustomed to small talk, before extending a delicate glass bottle to the great pile of a man. "If it pleases m'Lord, I bear a gift from the Viscount Alvstad." The proffered bottle contains a murky red liquid...Alvst Vodka, no doubt, and by the stamp on the bottle, it appears to be from the Viscount's private stock. A tiny sea-weed tag with delicate watercolor script on it identifies it as from the last polar kelp harvest, of 9820.
Cabal walks up to Boris irrespective of anyone else in attendance whereupon he bows formally and deeply to His Baron as he greets him gruffly, "My Lord Baron, I've come to pay my respects to Lady Harkonnen." He must be preoccupied with something important to be so formal, but be that as it may, he moves on to Ulricke to do as he intended and bows to her as well, "My Lady, please accept my humble apologies for being unable to stay, but I am afraid that matters of some import demand my attentions. Please accept this small token as proof of my warmest reception of the Lady Harkonnen here at the Kaitain Embassy." He presents a scabbard of grey and blue, with silver fetigree. Sheathed within is a blackened steel kindjal with a silvered hilt and pommel of unsurpassing beauty and quality.
Klaude walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Klaude has left.
Sarah smiles at Ulricke, "Thank you."
Ulricke accepts the knife with a faint pinkening of her cheeks. "Ah, Warmaster, you are a man of exquisite tastes." her eyes twinkle as she summons a slave to take it to her suite for her. "I will wear it with pride, and it will be part of my armament when next I step into the Arena."
Boris accepts the gift gratefully from Pers. "I'm most honored, Lord Admiral, and I thank you. 9820! The last good year, I think! I'd be pleased if you'd share some with me sometime, eh?" He passes it to a slave nearby.
Sandra walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.
Sandra has arrived.
Marco walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Marco has left.
Sarah walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sarah has left.
Sartori Smiles and nods to Lady Sandra
Boris says to Sylvie, "What? Well, a Harkonnen man is worth ten others," he boasts, "So my presence ought to even the score, even with this damned thing on my leg!" He offers his concubine his elbow and stumps off towards the ballroom.
Sandra drifts in slowly and looks about the room. she does take another glass of wine from a slave.
Pers half-bows to the Baron in agreement. "It would be an honor, Lord Baron," he replies, with perhaps a bit more gravity than the occasion calls for. "Best wishes for the evening," he adds as the man waltzes off.
Sylvie takes the Baron's arm and walks toward the ballroom at his side.
Ceile sighs softly, shaking her head, somewhat embarrassed at her own comment. After another moment, the Imperial Concubine turns, and moves to continue on in her exploration, perhaps hoping to run into someone else she knows.
The atmosphere is festive here, with all manner of entertainers - acrobats, minstrels, fire-breathers, etc taking places throughout the hall. Slaves also circulate here with food and drink. Take note that security has placed guards blocking the stairway to guests unless noted by members of the House.
The Rastanyev diplomat seems to notice what has just happened with a bit of alarm. He coughs loudly, wondering if the Baron is actually going to refuse to even recognize the arrival of his Rastanyev cousines.
Ceile walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Ceile has left.
Ulricke smiles at Pers. "I hope you will do us honor and join the others in the ballroom?"
Cabal replies respectfully, if not playfully, "I look forward to testing My Lady's steel when the next opportunity presents itself, but until then, please enjoy this evening and my best regards to the Lady at her arrival here." He permits a slight broadening of his smile before turning back to Boris with a perfunctory nod. As he begins to leave, the Warmaster is enveloped by his awaiting advisors like a locust plague, and thus he departs.
Sandra just decides to stand near the ballroom entrance quietly and sipping on her drink.
Ulricke moves swiftly to her father's side and whispers in his ear.
"Of course, m'Lady," Pers replies. He steps in to the ballroom quietly, trailed by a single page.
Pers walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Pers has left.
You whisper, "Daddy...the Rastanyevs are here and they sent us the liqueur for the party, so do come say hello. Their diplomat looks like he's going to shit in his pants." to Boris.
Boris listens to Ulricke, then says a quiet word to Sylvie.
Cabal descends the Spiral Stairs.
Cabal has left.
Boris mutters to Sylvie, "... and... friend the Ambassador."
Sandra just moves toward Sartori now and smiles at him
Sartori smiles in return " M'lady
Cabal pages Boris and Ulricke: Have a good time. I hope I at least made a good impression, despite how brief it was. I really wish I could stay. Talk to you all later - I look forward to reading the log. :)
Sylvie looks past the Baron and smiles, "Lord Devhapti."
Boris turns in Mikhail's direction at last, grinning. "Cousine! This is an unexpected honor, eh? It's been too long since we've seen the mighty Phoenix among us." He sketches a bow, leaning on his cane.
Sartori raises an eyebrow in curiosity.
Sandra drifts to pause close to Sartori and actually kisses him right there infront of all present
Satyavrat senses, "Ulricke winks at you conspiritorally."
The diplomat bows to the Baron as the Rastanyev contingent is addressed before quietly greeting Sylvie. "Good evening, m'Lady de Biencourt."
Sylvie offers her hand to Satyavrat, "So nice to see you again."
Sartori seems off blaence but not entirly surprised.
Ulricke grins over at Sandra and Sartori - no doubt those two will take advantage of the salon later in the evening.
Sandra smiles at Sartori "Burseg I am thinking of Retireing for the evening."
Sartori looks surprised " OH?"
Satyavrat notices the undue attention from the Baron, and decides it safest to merely lift the Lady's hand and bow slightly to her rather than kissing it. "The pleasure is mine, m'Lady. It is good to see your Lord Baron and his Family in such health and prosperity."
Sandra just nods "Yes I am just not makeing much enjoyment of the event tonight and would hate to be a bore to others present."
Ulricke calls out, "Perhaps, good Madame, you should try enjoying what the salon has to offer. I'm sure our fine Sardaukar would be pleased and honored to escort you." she smiles.
Sartori nods "as you wish M'lady"
Iason makes himself inobtrusive, slipping through the crowd.
Sylvie says, "You must promise to dance with me, Lord Devhapti. I insist."
Sartori glances at the speaker breifly.
Mikhail grins broadly at Boris, he seems to be genuinely happy to see him, this time. "Ahh! My dear Baron Harkonnen, it is an honour to be in your home away from homes this night, the hospitality of House Harkonnen is unmatched by any in the Empire." A mischevious glimmer flickers in his saphire blue eyes as he reaches into an outer pocket, removing a gleaming golden cigar case, and from the aroma eminating from it, it would appear to be full of the best Ecazi cigars. "This, my Baron is for you." Ahh, but what is this? Apparently he isn't finished yet. He removes a sheathed blade from his belt, and then unsheathes it. The glimmer of the steel is dulled by years of use and the hilt of utilitarian and simple make. "And for the Lady, I give to you the blade which saw me through the great revolts of Neyvak. May it serve you as well as it has served me."
Sandra turns and glances toward the voice "I am not entireily sure it would be proper My Lady."
Ulricke grins at the Rastanyev contingent and murmurs, "Excuse me, I think I shall permit myself to enjoy some dancing...ahh, Ambassador! You're not going to leave without dancing with me, are you?" she then turns back, eyes widening in delight. "Your Excellency, this is a fine blade, and you honor me by gifting me with it. I have a private collection and this will be a fine addition." she grins, and with the charm that only such as Uli can pull off, steps forward and kisses the Earl's cheek.
Tat'iana's hand releases her brother's - Mikhail's - arm, and she drops to a deep, graceful curtsey as the Baron notes their presence. "The Phoenix does indeed rise from time to time, yes," she murmurs with a smile as she rises, watching Mikhail give the family gifts to the Baron and his daughter.
Satyavrat's brows rise up in surprise. Caught of guard, he coughs lightly into his hand to hide less civil signs of alarm. "Ahh...if it is your pleasure, m'Lady, I shall of course join you on the dance floor this evening." He turns to Ulricke, and, greatful for a chance to make the task seem ordinary, adds, "It would seem that I have the pleasure of dancing with two of the Baron's

Aleksei has arrived.
Finished greeting Satyavrat, Sylvie turns her attention to Mikhail and Tat'iana, curtseying, "So pleased to have you here, My Lord...Lady."
Sartori walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sartori has left.
A man dressed in the uniform of a Cossack, the legions that are elite among the forces of the Rastanyev. He look as if he is in his mid-forties, and has a slight greying of his dark blond hair. He is tanned, tall and fairly well built, a little over two meters tall and probably about 200 pounds. His uniform begins with an red overcoat with gold trim, a wide blue waist sash is draped on him, and his black pants and boots finish his uniform. A crest adorns his right breast pocket and on his collar is the rank eupalets of a full General. To complete the uniform, a sword is sheath at his side. He maybe a little old for the military sake, but he still lookes like he could defeat an army by himself.
Aleksei enters the Hall and glances around he notices Mikhail and then the others of his house, he attempts to make his way towards them, and walks along a non-evasive route to make his arrival less disruptive.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 2744, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Lord Chancellor Cromwell requests permission to attend upon the Great House Harkonnen.""
Ulricke has just finished kissing the Earl Rastanyev on the cheek. She casually presses a small notch on her arm circlet.
Boris says, "Come come, let's repair to the dance floor. Ulricke's my daughter and I claim the right of first tango, even if I am in this bloody cast."
You clear the vehicle over your communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 2744, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Ulricke."
Tat'iana looks down at the mentioned cast, a sympathetic purse to her lips forming. "Oh, dear," she murmurs, then looks up to smile at Ulricke.
Tat'iana senses, "Ulricke winks at you conspiritorally. You know she did that just to make Mikhail blush."
Sylvie says, "I'll remain here to greet the latest arrival so you can dance with your daughter."
Oh my, what have we here? Two spots of red begin to appear on the Earl Rastanyev's cheeks as the Lady Harkonnen kisses him, though they fade as quickly as they appeared. He smiles at the Baron again, grateful for the distraction, even if it was not intended.
Ulricke grins. "Sylvie, that's terribly kind of you. "Daddy, shall we?"
Tat'iana looks down, hiding a sudden smirk at Mikhail's blush. Oh, if only Nerissa were here to see that kiss!
Cromwell walks in from Garden of Bitterblooms through the Burnished Doors.
Cromwell has arrived.
A man just entering the prime of his life, Vincent Cromwell stands slightly less than 6 feet tall. He close cut red hair atop a pleasant, unwrinkled face. Though possessing an athletic build one can see that the demands of his position have begun to take their toll around his waist, as if he can no longer find the time to exercise as he once did. His lips are stained slightly from his use of sapho juice though not nearly to the extreme of most Mentats. The Chancellor's piercing blue eyes are his most noticeable feature. While not the total blue within blue of a Reverend mother or Fremen, the whites have a light blue tint and the pupils are a deep sapphire color, probably due to a mild addiction to the spice melange.
Ulricke looks over. "Chancellor Cromwell." the young Harkonnen hostess says. "We're about to enjoy the dancing in the ballroom. Do join us?"
Iason looks over at the cast, then over towards the Earl.
Boris walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Boris has left.
Cromwell enters quietly from the garden, having already obtained a glass of chanpagne. Upon hearing the Lady of honor call to him, he smiles and makes his way over. Offering appropriate bows to those assembled he smiles warmly to the Harkonnen debutante, "My Lady, it would be a pleasure."
Aleksei does a quick salute to the Earl, hand over his chest, he looks around the room again, his eyes attempting to figure out the occasion for this ball. He bows to anyone near by also, hoping not to annoy anyone of higher blood then his own.
Ulricke grins at Cromwell before seeing her way in.
Aleksei senses, "Ulricke actually winks at you before she steps inside."

Mikhail walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Mikhail has arrived.
Iason drifts towards the chairs, to enjoy his drink - and another he seems to have appropriated between here and Giedi Hall.
Ulricke grins and leans to kiss her father's cheek.
Sylvie walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
Klaude perceives the slightly more dynamic music and shifts his style into a more modern one and more confident.
Aleksei enters the ballroom along with the other Rastanyev, he discrete adjusts his Cossack uniform to make sure it fitting him correctly for such a formal occasion. He watches some of the people dancing..

The band signals that once this music is finished, they shall play a tango.
Ceile simply ignores Boris' comment, though one might assume, too, that she didn't hear it. However, she does glance towarsd Cromwell as she catches his greeting, offering him a friendly nod. "Indeed." she answers Klaude as she matches his increased step, gracefully, without missing a beat.
You whisper, "I don't like her Daddy. Though I suppose she's a tight ass enough to suit the Emperor. I'd probably snap him in half." to Boris.
The song that Don Marco requested ends.
The band plays a flourish to announce the tango.
Boris offers a hand to his daughter, a grin on his face. "Shall we, my jewel?
Cromwell finishes his glass of champagne, hands it to a nearby servant, and claims another. The observant might notice that the stone in his ring flashes a bright green color, before returning to its normal blue.
Ulricke takes his hand, performing a dripping curtsy that also happens to reveal enough leg to drop inclined male jaws.
You step out onto the dancefloor.
On the dancefloor, Klaude nods, and bows deeply to Ceile. He takes her hand and gracefully leads her from the dancefloor to watch the host couple.
Klaude leaves the dancefloor.
Ceile leaves the dancefloor.
Sartori leans back agains the wall contentedly watching the scene before him, though he doea gesture for Cromwell to joinhim.
On the dancefloor, Marco smiles at Sarah, "Shall we stay or leave?"
Cromwell nods and joins the Sardaukar.
On the dancefloor, Ulricke says, "Oh, do stay."
Aleksei notices the campagne and takes a glass, he smells it and then sips it, and then notices Boris and his daughter step onto the dance floor.
On the dancefloor, Ulricke says, "Or if you feel uncomfortable, join us after the first movement."
Boris stumps forward, clumsily. The cast impedes his motion, but he's clearly enjoying himself. The couple seems quite practiced together.
Iason watches the Baron dance with the cast, seated with two drinks.
On the dancefloor, Sarah looks to Marco, "I don't know how..."
Sarah leaves the dancefloor.
Ceile watches Boris and Ulricke for a short time before she turns to Klaude. "Do you wish to meet the Chencellor Mentat and Berseg?" she asks, motioning towards the pair.
On the dancefloor, Marco looks over to Ulricke and grins, "Guess she choose for me, my lady."
Iason finishes both drinks, before rising to get another pair.
Marco leaves the dancefloor.
Tat'iana also takes a glass of champagne from a passing servant, and sips at it delicately. She moves off to the side, watching the dancefloor and those upon it, with keen interest.
Ulricke grins. When the music begins, Ulricke seems to resolve to be the orbiting moon around Boris. In order to keep his movements minimal, it is she who dances to, around, and with him, while at the same time making it still seem like Boris is leading.
Klaude smiles. "It would be a pleasure." He follows her over to them.
Aleksei looks towards Sartori, the Sardaukar, he studies him for a mere second or so. o O (Never met one of them before.), he looks back to to his Earl, "My earl, is there anyone I should meet at this occasion?"
Ceile nods, and turns to make her way towards Cromwell and Sartori. As she approaches the two, she nods her head. "Burseg, Chancellor..." The concubine draws to a stop near the two, motioning gracefully towards Klaude with one hand.. "May I present Klaude Tordarsson, Suk to House Alvstad?"
Sartori comes to attention
Sartori says, "M'lady"
Boris steps out onto the dancefloor.
Sylvie finishes a glass of wine and exchanges the empty glass for one filled with champagne as she moves slowly around the room.
Satyavrat forbears from drinks for the time being, instead patiently waiting for the tango to end, replaced with some more familiar music and accompanying dance. He follows the Lady Rastanyev to the side of the dance floor, opting to remain behind her for the time being.
Boris chuckles. He gamely attempts to keep up with Ulricke, the two moving with practiced ease.
Sartori bows slightly pleasure to me you M'lord"
Ceile steps up onto the stage.
Sartori steps up onto the stage.
Klaude extends his hand toward the two. "Lord Chancellor... Burseg... it is an honor to meet you both. I am only recently located to Kaitain and Lady Ceile's hospitality has been most impressive of House Corrino."
Klaude steps up onto the stage.
Cromwell bows to the Lady, then turns his attention to the Alvstad, "Doctor Tordarsson, a pleasure to meet you. I have read a few of your articles. I found them very, insightful. I especially liked your comments on the over looked effectiveness of some 'folk
Sartori shakes the Suks hand strongly
Ulricke steps close to her father - even though he's impaired, his upper body strength is more then competent to support her when she is dipped, one hand at the small of her back, the other on her thigh.
Marco shrugs, '
Cromwell continues, "folk remidies', that is."
Tat'iana turns slightly, looking to the diplomat behind her. She beckons to him, placing a hand over her lips so that none can read them, as she leans towards him.
Marco says, "That's fine, what do you wan to do?"
Tat'iana mutters to Satyavrat, "Who are some... you must..."
Iason returns to his seat with three more drinks, then begins to work as he sits back to watch the dancers.
In time to the music, the Baron takes a moment to nuzzle his daughter's slim neck, almost romantically, as she's dipped backwards.
Cromwell steps up onto the stage.
Klaude bows slightly to Cromwell. "Thank you, Chancellor. I have indeed thought our own folk remedies to be much overlooked in our techniques."
Sarah says, "Do you know anyone here you could introduce me to, Maximus?"
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 2170, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Count Cesare Moritani requesting clearance.""
Satyavrat leans forward to respond to the Lady Rastanyev's request.
Sylvie says something into her communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 2170, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Sylvie."
Sartori glances at Ceile."I trust you are enjoying yourself m'lady Ceile?"
Aleksei walks casually towards Iason.
Ulricke finishes the dance with her father, giving him another curtsy.
Ulricke shoots a thankful look at Sylvie.
Satyavrat mutters to Tat'iana, "I... with most of them,... anyone in partcular that... meet?... from Houses Atreides, Corrino,... Ginaz,... from..."
Sylvie walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has left.
Tat'iana shakes her head at Satyavrat, smiling thinly. Again, she mutters to him.
Boris mutters to you, ":grins. "You are lovely as ever, my jewel.""
Ulricke beams at Boris and gives him a kiss. It's just a /little/ too lingering to be proper.
Tat'iana mutters to Satyavrat, "... Another time.... any... you... on... people... much..."
Boris calls, "Is she not a marvel, my friends? I give you Ulricke Harkonnen!"
Sartori returns to watching the party in gerneral listening to Cromwell and the Suk.
Using Russkiy, Mikhail nudges his sister and gestures to the Baron and his daughter. "... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..."
Aleksei bows to Iason and says, "Good evening."
Satyavrat inclines his head, smiling, and quickly replies in turn to te Lady Rastanyev before bringing his attention politely to the dancefloor.
Ulricke colors and defers, but curtseys to the room at her father's announcement.
Cromwell applauds politly.
Marco nods to Sarah and leads her to the stage.
Using Russkiy, Satyavrat says, "... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..."
Marco steps up onto the stage.
Sarah steps up onto the stage.
Justine glances over to the announcement and smiles slightly, wondering what's going on. Then, she turns back to Steffan.
Cesare walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Cesare has arrived.
Sartori also applauds but silently
Sylvie walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
The crowd applauds the pair from about the dance floor.
You leave the dancefloor.
Klaude bows in the direction of the dance floor and applauds Ulricke and the Baron heartily.
Sartori bows to the new arrivals.
Cesare enters the busy ballroom, the Siridar-Count Moritani holding a small package in one hand.
Iason rises to applaud to the Baron, bowing a bit to Aleksei. "Good Evening." he bids the man quietly.
Tat'iana looks back to the dancefloor as the father-daughter pair exit, and belatedly raises her hands to politely applaud.
Ceile takes a moment to applaud the pair, though her applauding might be somewhat less enthousiastic than some.
Ulricke steps off, and seems absolutely delighted when she sees the new entrant. Beaming, she walks up to the Moritani Count a kiss that will likely be the talk of the gossip-mongers come morning. "Cesare!" she says happily. "Oh, you made it!" she grins. "I knew you wouldn't dissapoint me."
Boris leaves the dancefloor.
Sartori turns his attention to the young woman.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Message from vehicle 2170, bound for Harkonnen Embassy, requesting clearance, "Requesting to join the party please.""
Sylvie says something into her communicator.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, a man's voice says, "Clearance has been granted for vehicle 2170, bound for the Harkonnen Embassy, by Sylvie."
Justine can't help but hear the squeel of Cesare's name and quickly turns her head around to see who it came from and where Cesare is. Her brow rises in curiosity and then stares at the two.
Boris claps Cesare's shoulder in greeting. "Cesare! My boy, it's so good to see you. go on, go on, Uli's been pouting all night that you're not here."
Cesare laughs as he dips Ulricke in graceful return of the kiss, winking at her rakishly as he hands over the gift he has borne. "Good evening, my dear. And welcome back to Kaitain."
Using Russkiy, Tat'iana shakes her head at the Rastanyev Earl and the diplomat. "... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..."
Sylvie walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has left.
Ulricke laughs. "You wicked thing...what is it?" she asks in delight.
Justine doesn't even hear what Steffan says as her focus is on Ulricke and Cesare, making sure not to miss a word.
Sartori bows deeply " I am honored M'lady Dartania, and a pleasure to meet you."
Cesare cocks a wry grin. "I know how you hate to wait, so I'll tell you ... It's an ornamental dagger I had forged back on Grumman. The blade was cooled in the blood of my late, deceased bastard brother Vittorio."
Magnus walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Magnus has arrived.
Sylvie walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
Magnus walks in slowly, looking around for a familiar face...
Ulricke gives Cesare a liscentious grin. "How /fabulous/." she purrs, leaning forward and kissing him again. She whispers something into his ear.
You whisper, "Would your knock kneed Imperial Princess appreciate a gift like this, I wonder?" to Cesare.
Sylvie crosses the room to Baron Harkonnen's side.
Cesare chuckles at whatever Ulricke whispers and squeezes her side meaningfully. "You have always had ... unique tastes, my dear. I knew you'd appreciate nothing but the best."
Sartori continuing to look at the young woman " So what brings you to Kaitain if i may ask?"
Justine's jaw tightens a bit and then turns her focus back to Steffan.
Your vote for Rastanyev for House has been logged.
Magnus stands at the doorway, putting his hands behind his back, then looking at his watch, waiting for something or someone.
Sartori gestures a greeting to Magnus
Klaude heads for the hall, turning only briefly to give an uncertain glance at the Moritani.
Klaude steps down from the stage.
Klaude walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Klaude has left.
Aleksei looks over to Sartori again, he has much interest in the Sardaukar since they are such an impressive force, he then looks back to the new arrivals.
Magnus notices Sartori and smiles with a light nod and bow
Ulricke grins at Cesare, softly promises to be right back, and walks to Magnus. "Welcome, Lord Magnus." she says politely. "Please enjoy our hospitality."
Boris extends his hand to Sylvie. "So, my lady, will you honor a one-legged man with a dance?"
Sartori smiles slightly " truely?..what medium if ia may ask?"
Magnus smiles, extending his hand to Ulricke to guide him wherever they may be sitting, "I am honoured my lady, may I have the added honour of sitting with you and yours?"
Sylvie takes Boris' hand and smiles, "If it's a slow dance, My Lord."
You say, "Well, we aren't really sitting, but please feel free to enjoy the ballroom and the salon. Are you expecting someone?"
Cesare decides to mill briefly over to a nearby platter-bearing servant, plucking a glass of wine and taking a large gulp, bright eyes looking around at all the nobles and particulars cavorting across the dance floor, his smile turning into a slight sneer as he espies Steffan, muttering something about Ginaz having skulls that are far too thick and the trials neccessary to split one open.
Magnus smiles gently, "My dear wife."
Ulricke beams. "No doubt she'll be along soon. I'll make sure the slaves escort her promptly."
You say, "Would you excuse me, though? There's a name on my dance card for this next song."
The baron isn't letting a cast slow him down from a dance. He commands the orchestra, "A Soudain waltz! And s'help me, if it's fast, I'll have you all sent to the mines." He leads Sylvie out onto the floor.
Boris steps out onto the dancefloor.
Sylvie steps out onto the dancefloor.
Sartori nods appreciativly " A wonderful gift, i Alas am un skilled in any arts but the most obvious of one for my profession."
Cromwell walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Cromwell has left.
Cromwell walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Cromwell has arrived.
Magnus turns around slightly, immediately noticing the new footsteps. Sees Cromwell and bows with a smile, then turns back to Ulricke, "How are you finding your stay on Kaitain, milady?"
The Rastanyev diplomat, noting the Lady de Bien Court's departure for the dance floor quite clearly, whispers something to his Lord and Lady. The Earl nods, muttering something in Russkiy before moving over towards the door, accompanied by his sister and attended by the diplomat. He pauses briefly before the Lady Ulricke, waiting for her to finish with Magnus.
Ulricke grins. "It's been just lovely." she repeats, "Would you excuse me, milord? I've been looking forward to dancing with His Excellency all evening." she smiles to Satyavrat, and then to Magnus again. "Do enjoy yourself." she departs, stepping back to Cesare and murmuring in his ear.
Sartori nods impressed " Then i am doubly honored to encounter you M'lady Dartania"
You whisper, "No, you're going to dance with me or I'm going to be extremely cross with you. And you don't want me cranky when next we spar, do you?" to Cesare.
Aleksei finishes his campagne and makes his way back towards the group of Rastanyev.
Magnus smiles at her, then smiles at Satyavrat with a polite nod, moving over to Sartori and his entourage.
Iason rises to bow a bit to the newcomers.
The Earl Rastanyev stiffens ever so slightly as the Lady Ulricke turns away from him, but decides not to mention it. Instead, his party makes its way out of the ballroom as quickly as can be done while still maintaining the appearance of civility.
Cesare sets aside his win, winking at Ulricke. "You know I prefer it when you're at your most ... energetic, but as you wish. Far be it for me to begrudge the whim of the Lady of the Evening. He takes her hand gently and leads the Lady Harkonnen out onto the dance floor.
Mikhail walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Mikhail has left.
Mikhail walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Mikhail has arrived.
Ulricke starts to make her way to Cesare, but pauses smoothly. "Dear cousine," she asks Mikhail with a smile. "What is it?"
Klaude walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Klaude has arrived.
Justine's eyes move off of Steffan and back to Ulricke and Cesare. She tenses a bit again but upon catching sight of Mikhail, it softens once more. She waits until he's finished speaking with the Harkonnen woman before calling to him.
Magnus turns to Sartori with a polite nod, and his friends with nods also, "Burseg, it has been a long time since I saw you, how have you been keeping yourself and who are these friends of yours, whom I'm yet to make acquaintance to?"
Crysania walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Crysania has arrived.
Crysania enters quietly and looks about for her husband, Magnus.
"Hmm?" Replies the Earl as he's addressed by Ulricke. "I fear there has been a little bit of trouoble at the Embassy. I fear that I must take leave of you and your most gracious father for the evening." He bows deeply to the Lady Harkonnen before turning to leave.
Magnus is standing with his back to the door, talking to Sartori and his group.
Ulricke oh's softly. "Well, I hope it isn't anything problematic. Thank you so much for coming, Your Excellency." she smiles, offering her hand, palm down.
Crysania watches her husband proudly, his nobility shining brightly and she smiles.
Tat'iana likewise dips her head towards Ulricke, and the Baron, before turning to follow Mikhail.
Cesare takes the hand and kisses it chivalrously. "It's been ages since we danced, hasn't it? Let's see if you can still keep up, hrmm?"
Mikhail walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Mikhail has left.
Tat'iana walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Tat'iana has left.
Satyavrat walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Satyavrat has left.
Cromwell steps up onto the stage.
Sartori smiles and gestures around" M'ladies M'lords allow me to introduce Count Pala."tine
Magnus he nods to Marco and smiles with a bow to Ceile, and bows slightly to the other girl, with an inquisitive look toward Sartori, begging an introduction.
Aleksei walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Aleksei has left.
Crysania slowly walks up to Magnus, standing just behind him, a gentle hand on her stomach.
Sartori says, "Count Palatine may i introduce to yuo Lady Sarah Dartania....Artist of moritani"
Ulricke grins. "If I can keep up with Father, I can keep up with you." she says. It sounds like an almost ritual challenge as she moves back onto the dance floor.
You step out onto the dancefloor.
Cesare follows, taking Ulricke swiftly into his arms and leading into the steps of the waltz.
Cesare steps out onto the dancefloor.
Klaude takes a seat in one of the alcoves.
Magnus notices a small shadow behind him and turns around with a frown. Noticing his wife, his frown turns to a smile and he leans over, kissing her on the cheek and linking his arm with hers. He turns to the others, "Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to my wife, Crysania de Fedor, newly pregnant with my third child." He smiles brightly, then turns to Sartori and nods, smiling at Sarah, "A pleasure I am sure, milady. May we impose on you, Burseg, and join your little party?"
Marco gives a nod, "Count Palatine long time no see." He turns his attention back to Lady Ceile and smiles, "Nothing to forgive, my lady, children are a joy. Something special to have."
You whisper, "So. Are you really going to continue courting the Imperial flower now that I'm back?" to Cesare.
On the dancefloor, Ulricke grins at Cesare, murmuring softly as they dance.
On the dancefloor, Sylvie rests her head on the Baron's shoulder, fingers playing lightly from his neck to his chest, as she dances close.
Your vote for Ceile for rper has been logged.
Crysania smiles back at her husband, nodding to all she was introduced to.
Sartori smiles " Of course Count." then glancing at lady de Fedor He bows " a Pleasure Mlady de Fedor
Magnus steps up onto the stage.
Iason takes a seat in one of the alcoves.
Crysania takes her husband's hand.
Iason finishes drink #4, then starts on the fifth.
A courier in Palace livery approaches the edge of the dance floor, where Boris dances with Sylvie. Behind him are two Sardaukar Colonel Bashars, who glower at the partying nobles as they pass. One Bashar approaches Lord Cromwell, and bows at the waist before him.
Cesare whispers, "Well ... You were the one who terminated our betrothal, Ulricke. I'm afraid the Princess Jenaa has my heart, unless of course you can wrest it back."
Magnus notices Iason and waves a greeting from the stage, then taking his wife's hand and giving it a gentle caress, turning to Sarah, "A musician you say? What music do you specialize in, if I may ask?"
Iason offers Magnus a quiet nod.
Sartori comes to strict attention at the arrival of the sardaukar
Crysania smiles at Ceile. "Yes, children are our... fountain of youth, if you will.
Ulricke gives Cesare a wickedly wry grin as she continues to dance with him, noticing the Imperial courier by the corner of her eye.
Cesare turns, his attentions drawn from his lovely dance partner as the irregular and untimely entrance of the high-ranking Sardaukar officers undeniably put a damper on the festivities.
Cromwell nods the the Sardaukar, "Yes?"
Ceile glances towards the Sardaukar who approaches the group before dismissing him and turning her attenion back to Crysania. "I do hope for another of my own soon, a sibling for my son. Congradulations are in order, then, on your third." She glances towarsd Magnus. "To both of you."
Sharid walks in from Giedi Hall through the Translucent Doors.
Sharid has arrived.
Standing at 6'2" and weighing about 200lbs Sharid is a well built male You see he has worked out on a regular basis to stay fit and trim, like most SF Troopers. He has grey-green eyes that change color depending on his mood, his light brown hair is short cropped to make wearing of a helmet more comfortable. He is dressed in the Black and Crimson of the Venhei Light Infantry. On his lower sleeves are swirls of gold embroidery, on his coller is the gold with crimson background of a General of Light Infantry. His knee length boots are shined well enough to see yourself in.
Ulricke continues to murmur softly to Cesare as they dance.
Sartori moves to stand next to Cromwell.
Sharid bows slightly to Baron Harkonnen
Crysania 's smile never leaves her face as she nods. "And good luck to you on another. We would all be lost without our children."
Magnus smiles with a polite nod, "I thank you my lady, you are most gracious," he turns around as Sharid enters and offers a wave and a smile, gesturing him to come over. He swivels on his chair again, "Portraits, life drawings?" he is genuinely interested in the conversation, his love for culture never faltering.
You whisper, "Mmm, let's see. You have me - passionate, strong, argumentative, inventive...and you have Princess Jenaa. Quiet, soft, delicate...boring. Do you honestly think there's a contest?"" to Cesare.
You whisper, "Though it's true...it is my fault. I'm afraid I was rather nervous of the idea, Cesi - it seemed like such an awful lock on my freedom." to Cesare.
On the dancefloor, Boris pauses, noting the courier. He says, irritably to Sylvie as he twirls her about. "And what's this? Some damned errand boy from His Majesty...Sylvie, you'll forgive me, eh?"
Sharid smiles at Magnus and nods still looking over the crowd of people
Your vote for Sharid for rper has been logged.
Cesare whispers, "Well, as I said, it depends on you. I do have a great amount of faith in you though, Uli. You always have had ... a good grip."
Ulricke grins at something Cesare says and murmurs in reply.
On the dancefloor, Sylvie nods, pouting a little, "Of course, My Lord."
You whisper, "Come to the Salon with me, and I'll show you what a good grip I have." to Cesare.
Ulricke arches her brows a little at Cesare playfully, but then pauses, noting her father's attendance on the courier.
Cesare chuckles in appreciation for what Ulricke says, taking her hand into his own and rubbing it lightly as he makes a soft reply.
Sharid snags a glass of wine from a waiter
Cesare whispers, "Why the Salon? Why not show the whole Imperium just what a grip you've got."
Ceile smiles, chuckling. "Thank you, my Lady. No one will be happier than I when it happens." She glances around the ballroom then, quickly sliding her gaze back to the Countess. "Have you been enjoying your evening thus far?"
Boris still holding Sylvie's hand, leads her over to where the courier awaits. The man bows, then speaks quietly to the Baron, who nods.
The Baron's eyes go wide.
Magnus smiles back, "Wonderful," he looks around for a waiter to bring him and the table a drink. Turning back to the table he gestures to Sharid and leans over saying quietly, so no one but the table can hear, "He's the new Venhei General...a seemingly strong man, I dined with him the other day," he turns to Sartori with a smile, "You should get along well with him Burseg."
Crysania motions to the dance floor.
Sartori head snaps around at the bellow from Cesare.
Marco hears the Count call out to the Sardaukar. He looks to see whats is amiss.
You have not been trained to use battle language.
Boris dismisses the courier, then looks towards where Cromwell is speaking with the Sardaukar. He gestures Cesare over, hurriedly.
Sylvie looks around at all the guests and wonders silently what to do. All the color is gone from her face.
Magnus looks at Crysania's motion, then blinks and bursts out laughing, "My dear, it has been so many years! I don't know if I can still dance with my leg and your poor belly may not take it. I wouldn't want you hurt my dear," he gently rubs her belly at this and smiles.
At the bellow from Cesare, Ceile turns her attention towards him, and then the Sardaukar. She might as well pay attention now, because doubtless whatever is happening will be the topic of conversation for the rest of the evening.
Cesare draws Ulricke over with him as he walks to where Boris stands.
Magnus hearing Cesare's bellow, he frowns and turns to look at the commotion
Cromwell all but throws his champagne glass to the nearist servant. He removes a pill case from his breast pocket and removes pill to counter-act the effects of the champagne. He then snaps into a flurry of acticity. "Colonel, you are ordered to secure the palace. No one in to exit or enter without my express permission. In addition all ground, air, space, water, and other forms of transportaion are hereby grounded. The streets are to be emptied and all inhabitants are confined to there abodes until further notice. These premisses are likewiase locked down. Until I say otherwise."
Crysania chuckles.
Ulricke lets herself be drawn. "Father..?" she says softly, leaning in for quiet conference.
Boris mutters to Cesare, "... dead!"
Boris mutters to you, "The Emperor is dead!"
Ceile's attention is caught by Cromwell's orders, and her smile disappears. Something is not right. "What is it, Chancellor?" she asks, tipping her head to one side as she turns her attention to him.
Klaude glances over from his alcove at the commotion, and ensures from his perspective that Lady Ceile is at ease.
Sylvie's glance rests on Ceile sympathetically.
Cesare blinks in surprise at Cromwell. "You're confining us all here? Whatever for?" Any further words of this sort are silenced by Boris' whispering, to whom he looks and inquires blithely, "Is that all?"
Magnus blinks a little and frowns even more, then turning to Ceile to see her reaction with a concerned look on his face.
Iason's attention drifts towards Boris.
Crysania blinks and looks to her husband, quite confused.
Cromwell says, "Berseg Sartori, You are hereby to attended to the Lady Ceile. I need not tell you that you are to guard her with your life.""
Sartori looks to Cromwell "orders?"
Marco steps down from the stage.
Sartori nods
Ulricke's eyes widen at the news, and she nods, immediately moving to speak softly with Lord Cromwell.
Ceile looks quickly towards Sartori before once again focusing on Cromwell. "What is it?" she demands once again, her voice somewhat harder and more forceful.
Crysania says, "M... Magnus? What's going on?"
Cromwell leans toward Ceile whispering in her ear.
Crysania brows furrow.
Sartori he moves next to Ceile " stay close M'
Magnus frowns, reaching out and taking Marco's arm, a concerned look on his face he gestures the man to come over closer and whispers into his ear.
Marco walks to the Count and bows awaiting orders if issued.
Boris protests, "See here, Chancellor. This is my abode and I will make orders here!"
Justine immediately stands and moves over to Ceile as she notices that something is seriously wrong, "Ceile?"
Cesare nudges Boris lightly. "Come, friend, that's not very funny. Your jokes are usually of a lighter sort. That's plain morbid."
Sartori moves close to Ceile " stayclose mlady"
Ulricke says quietly, "Father, I will attend the Chancellor." she turns and begins to speak the large man softly.
Magnus watches Marco leave, then turns to Sartori, reaching out and taking his wife's hand, clutching it, he looks concerned.
The Alvstad Warmaster notes the increasingly alarmed edge to everyone's voice and strides gently over to a position between the Alvst Suk and the Lady Garamond. He remains silent, however.
Steffan activates his suspensors again, the humm becoming more audible. He floats up from his chair into an upright position, the expression on his face one of concern.
Sartori opens a channel on his com " bring the 23rd legion to alert Bashar."
You mutter to Cromwell, "The guests need to be escorted to their homes. We are more then happy to offer Harkonnen security forces until your additional squadrons arrive. But obviously they cannot all stay here. I am at your disposal, sir."
At Cromwell's whisper, all the colour drains from Ceile's face, and her eyes widen in shock. "Wha..." she begins in disbelief, staring at the Chancellor's face as she lifts a hand to her mouth.
Marco speaks to Cesare, "My Lord Count, what are your orders?"
Justine frowns heavily at Ceile's expression and reaches out for her, "Ceile, what's wrong?"
Magnus looks at Sartori, then gestures for him to come forward to the stage.
Boris brandishes his cane. "Where's my Mentat, damn him! The Imperium's about to collapse, and he's off skulking!"
Klaude acknowledges Warmaster Pers' presence, and checks inside his jacket pocket to ensure his emergency medikit is in readiness in case needed.
Iason's eyes darken, as he look towards the principle speakers, his langour dropping away like a shed cloaked.
Cesare raises a hand to silence Marco, perhaps realizing this is indeed /not/ a joke, however much those Sardaukar looked like Harkonnen slaves. All colour leaves the Count's face as he looks about the room. "God help us," he states softly, "The Emperor ... He's dead."
Cromwell straightens his coat and turns to address the crowd. He gathers himself and makes the following announcement in a loud clear voice, "Ladies and Gentlemen. I regret to inform you that we have a confirmed report of the death of the Emperor Jeon the XIV and his son, the heir presumptive, Aleksander. You are all hereby order to remain on these premises until given clearance."
Sartori glances at Cromwell and speaks " the 23rd is ready m'lord"
Crysania face is pale as she looks to magnus, the smile gone.
Justine gasps at the announcement, her eyes widening as well and takes a firm grip on Ceile's arm as she asks, "Wha?? But...how??"
Magnus blinks and stands up, looking at Cromwell, "How, Chancellor? Do we have any idea?"
Sharids
Cromwell turns to Sartori, "Berseg this planet is now on offical lockdown. Make it so."
Ceile begins to shake noticably, the news not quite sinking in past the initial shock of the sudden, and rather bluntly delivered, news. "No..." she whispers softly, shaking her head slowly. "There must be some mistake!"
the Burseg now speaks into him com order all 30,000 sardaukar of the 23rd Imperial legion to occupy Kaitain.
Marco obbeys the Count and remains silent.
Iason utters a soft oath, keeping his expression little more than alert, letting nothing else show.
Sarah goes deathly pale.
Sylvie asks Boris softly, "Perhaps the Lady Ceile would be more comfortable in a private room?"
Sharid's face remains calm and cool
You whisper, "The guests need to be escorted to their homes. We are more then happy to offer Harkonnen security forces until your additional squadrons arrive. But obviously they cannot all stay here. I am at your disposal, sir." to Cromwell.
Boris shakes his head. "Look after her, would you, Sylvie?" he says, not without kindness.
Crysania releases her husbands hand as she puts her own two together. She closes her eyes and prays.
Sartori glances at Sylvie " the lady Ceile will stay by me.
Justine is stunned at the news herself but is more concerned for her dear friend. She looks to Ceile with great sadness and chokes out, "Oh Ceile, I....I'm so sorry...I..." She can't say anymore and offers her friend a hug.
Cesare raises a hand to rake frustratedly through his hair, the Count reaching out to steady himself on a table. "How did this happen? How?"
Ulricke looks at Sartori. "Then go with her." she rolls her eyes a touch and turns to attend Cromwell.
Cromwell whispers, "I understand Miss. As soon as I deem it safe to travel the streets, I will allow the guest to depart."
Pers raises his voice in constrenation. "Lord Chancellor," he calls across the general din. "Who commands the Sardaukar?"
Sylvie nods to Sartori, "But...this is so public. Perhaps you and a good friend for her. I can show you the way."
Magnus blinks and keeps his frown, turning and looking to Cesare with a nod, asking the same question.
Boris sets a hand on Cesare's shoulder. "A powerful man has powerful enemies, lad. Chancellor, how was this deed done?"
Steffan grows pale at the announcement, his glance fallen to the floor. He floats over to Cromwell cautiously, his brows furrowed.
Steffan emerges from one of the alcoves.
Cesare rounds to face Cromwell. "What are the circumstances leading to this? And ... his son as well? They are both dead and gone?"
Klaude emerges from one of the alcoves.
Justine emerges from one of the alcoves.
Coming to his feet, Iason quickly sweeps the crowd with his green-eyed gaze. His hands, almost unconsciously, move towards his lapel and his belt, fingers skimming over several pockets and compartments, apparently poised for action as if expecting an assassin to burst into the ballroom.
Even Ulricke winces. To lose a lover bad enough, but to lose a son..!
Cromwell glances at the Baron, "Prelimnary finding indicate poison, but the full investigation will offer more information."
Ceile doesn't hug Justine back, which shows just how deeply the unexpected news effected her. She does turn to look at Justine's face for a long moment before she draws a deep breath, tears flooding her eyes. "NOOOO!" Her actress' training comes through with an extremely loud scream, the sound heartwrenchin in it's anguish.
Pers pushes his way forward amongst the crowd. He pulls himself up to the Lord Baron and says something quietly.
Boris says, "Poison! The Corrino Plague, you mean."
The Baron uses the old macabre nickname for chaumurky.
Magnus nods to Sartori, then turns to Ceile, "If you would milady, I will most gladly escort you." At her cry, he moves closer and tries to comfort the lady.
Sartori rests his hand on his sheild belt
Crysania eyes are closed, but a tear runs down her cheek at the sound of Ceile's scream.
Cesare grimaces at Ceile's understanable anguish, but there are still too many questions left unanswered. "Who will succeed? Prince Eduard?"
Justine winces at Ceile's pain, tears of her own falling. She looks to her friend and pleads, "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry....please..." her words fall short.
Iason calls out, "Chaumas or chamurky?"
Sylvie addresses Sartori once again, "I must insist she be allowed to mourn without an audience."
Boris mutters to Pers, "... excellent... Admiral."
the Bursegs com beeps " the 23rd are in postion Chancellor."
Magnus looks at Sylvie, then Sartori, "I will take her somewhere safe if you will, Burseg."
Pers inclines his head to the Baron Harkonnen. Years of strategic study belie themselves in odd places.
Sylvie says, "She can have one of the rooms upstairs."
Justine looks to Magnus as she tries to comfort her friend and says, "Her family will take care of her, thank you."
Crysania ends the prayer and looks to her husband, wiping the tear and tending gently to Ceile.
Boris calls, "Chancellor, I must ask if you are prepared to address the representatives of the Great Houses at this time concerning these events!" He says ask, but it doesn't sound like a request.
Ulricke nods, looking to Sartori. "I am taking Lady Ceile to my father's study. You may come as is per your duty, but she is not going to be exposed in a public display any further." she flashes a hot look at Magnus. "How /dare/ you imply that this House is not secure!" she looks to Justine, the other ladies, and the Sardaukar. "If you would follow me?" she says tightly.
Crysania says, "Be careful, my love."
Marco looks to Sarah to see if she is okay.
Iason grasps his lapel, muttering quietly into it.
two sarduakar bearing the insignia of the 23rd Legion charge into the ballroom to escort Ceile to safety.
Ceile shakes her head, pulling away from Justine as people crowd towards her. She looks from one person to another as tears finally spill down her cheeks. Without another word, she begins to back away from them all, shaking her head as she mutters softly to herself, her hands balled into fists at her side.
Crysania looks to Ulricke carefully.
Sylvie looks gratefully to Ulricke, as people always seem to listen to her.
Cromwell looks at the Baron, "Of course Baron. I assure you I have nothing else to attend to right now, but your concerns." The sarcasm drips from his words.
Magnus looks at Justine, then nods in understanding, "The offer is always there my lady." He frowns at Ulricke's comment, due to the fact he wasn't referring to Security safety.
Ulricke is exihibiting nothing but concern for Ceile.
Sarah looks to Marco, looking not all that ok at the moment.
Magnus sits back down next to his dear wife, keeping silent.
Using Aglicon, Iason says, "... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..."
Sylvie looks through the crowd and calls out to Klaude, "Doctor? Your services may be required."
The two Sardaukar take up flanking postions next to Ceile.
Justine nods to Ulricke and says, "Please do." When Ceile backs away, she frowns but slowly moves towards her, calmly and softly saying, "Ceile, please...come with me. Away from everyone."
Cesare frowns at Cromwell. "Chancellor, the Houses must be informed immediately. Unless of course you fancy anarchy, in which case feel free to piddle about. The Emperor is dead, after all. Long live the Emperor."
Klaude nods. "Of course, Lady Sylvie. It seems I am the only medical personnel on premises."
Pers pushes his own argument forward upon Cromwell. "Lord Chancellor," he begins. "The assembled Houses Major are affected by this as direly as House Corrino. If you have taken charge of this situation, then you must be prepared to receive representatives of the High Council at the very least."
Iason speaks into his communicator.
Boris nods, having gotten his way. "Come with me, then, Chancellor. We shall meet in my most secure area, sir." he says more loudly, My lords and ladies, I will allow a small number of your representatives to accompany us."
Sylvie nods, "Once she's taken to a quieter place...."
Magnus nods, making his way over to Iason, noticing all the other Houses moving about themselves.
Cesare pats Boris' ponderous shoulder. "I will naturally want part in this."
Sartori looks to Cromwell " Chancellor?"
You say, "There is our House Suk...but Doctor, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Do come with us." she looks over at Cromwell. "Chancellor, with your permission?"
"I shall represent House Alvstad, Lord Baron, as the Viscount as occupied elsewhere."
Boris roars, "And someone find my bloody Mentat!"
The moment she spots the Sardaukar taking up positions beside her, Ceile's face twists into a mask of anger and pain, and she screams to the room in general, "LEave me be!" before she adds more quietly, almost to herself, "I...I must go..." With that, she spins on her heel, and begins to nearly run out of the ballroom, stumbling in her haste.
the Sarduakar follow her quickly.
Klaude glances over at his fellow Alvst and protector. "I shall be in contact via com-unit in the event of need."
Using Alvst, Pers shoots a glance at Klaude. He says, "... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..."
Cromwell raises his voice perhaps a touch louder than would be appropriate in any other situation, "Ladies and Gentelmen. My orders. I request that Lady Justine Garamond, and Berseg Sartori accompany the Lady Ceile to a more secluded location. All others are confined to this embassy until I have further reports. Baron Harkonnen, may I have a word wiith you?"
Justine reaches out for Ceile as she bolts and yells, "WAIT!" She tries to go after her, but isn't as fast as she once was, still not having fully recovered from her injury, but does follow as quickly as she can move.
Ceile walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Ceile has left.
Boris leads the way outside, surrounded by a clot of retainers.
Sartori walks to the east and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sartori has left.
Iason slips through the crowd towards Magnus.
Cesare rounds sudenly to look at Ceile, perfectly roaring, "Someone stop that fool woman!"
Justine has left.
You walk through the Translucent Doors.

Sartori turns a cold stare at ulricke
Sylvie walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.
Sylvie has arrived.
Ulricke isn't the least bit intimidated.
Ceile lets out a rather unladylike screech as someone grabs her shoulders, and without even checking who it is, she uses her momentum to spin around, swinging her arms in an attempt to hit whoever it is good and hard. All she wants is to get away. "Let go!" she screams, as she looses her footing in the spin, falling sharply to the side.
Iason walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.

Sartori continues to try and hold the screaming woman.
You whisper, "My father's study is upstairs. Bring the Sardakaur, bring Lady Ceile and the other women who are comforting her, and the Suk Doctor. He can give her a sedative if necesary, once you've checked his equipment. But she's obviously hysterical, and you can't get a handle on her until she's calmed down." to Sartori.
Sylvie says, "Doctor, can't you sedate her?"
Sharid walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.
Sharid has arrived.
Justine snaps at Sartori, "Let her go! If everyone will just back off and let me talk with her, she'll calm down. Please, she's not a wild animal, stop treating her as such!"
Klaude stares at Ceile. "Lady, I understand you are upset. But no one can help if you if you do not settle yourself."
Sartori glances at Justine coldly
Magnus walks in from Grand Ballroom through the Translucent Doors.
Magnus has arrived.
Justine looks to Klaude sternly, "Please, just let her be. Let me handle this, I beg of you. If you do not back off, it will make things worse."
Magnus walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Magnus has left.
Ceile doesn't look like she's in any mood to let someone keep a hold of her if she can help it. Despite the fact that she lands quite heavily on the ground, she continues to struggle against Sartori. "They need me!" she half-sobs,half screams. Tears continue to course down her cheeks.

Sharid descends the Spiral Stairs.

Ulricke looks back at Sartori. "Do it." she says flatly. Faced with two of the most formidable ladies of the Imperium, is the Sardaukar smart enough to realize that these women may be the only means to get Ceile back under control?
Crysania enters the Salon as twin slave girls hold the ivory doors open.
Crysania has left.
Sartori pulls Ceile to her feet maintaining his hold
Ulricke coughs. "My lords and ladies, the salon has been cleared, and wine will be brought shortly. Until we can get promptly sorted out, if you would please clear the Hall?"
Lena slowly makes her way to Klaude and stands behind him.
Sartori says, "Do yuor best Ginaz"
Klaude looks concerned, and takes Lena's hand. "Shall we?" He looks back to Ulricke. "If you have further need, do not hesitate to summon me."
Ulricke shakes her head and simply raises her com to address her father.
Sartori orders the two Sardaukar to follow.
You say, "Let her go, Sartori. Let Lady Justine calm her, if you would /please/?"
Ceile sobs as she's jerked uncerimoniously to her feet by the Sardaukar Burseg. Either not realizing, or not caring, that he could easily snap her neck, the Concubine curls her hands into fists and slams them into any part of his face or torso she can get at. "Let me go!" she screams between her sobs, struggling rather formitably.
Sartori glances at ulricke " it is your word I take Harkonnen..Understand?
Ulricke looks to Sartori and says calmly, "Insult me again, and I'll have you gutted. Let her go and let Lady Justine tend to her. You'll only injure her if you continue to restrain her." Her tone is filled with disgust for the callous, foolish man.
Klaude enters the Salon as twin slave girls hold the ivory doors open.
Klaude has left.
Lena enters the Salon as twin slave girls hold the ivory doors open.
Lena has left.
Sartori 's lip curls " Merly taking you at yuor word..."
Ceile takes a swing at her new 'captor' as she's handed over, half-blinded by her tears. She doesn't seem to care who's holding her, she doesn't want to be held, period.
Sartori walks to the west and passes through the Translucent Doors.
Sartori has left.
Over your communicator's secure frequency, you say, "Father? This /idiot/ Sardaukar keeps physically restraining Lady Ceile, who's hysterical, and he won't let Lady Justine tend to her. Could you please have Cromwell send someone up? I'm becoming very disgusted and there'
