Presenting the Lady DeBouchette!

A fairly long RP here, which has a sequel with just myself, Sylvie and Fahahd (maybe it'll show just how much she got into my pants).  In the entire RP, we have, in order of appearance:

Lady Justine Garamond - Diplomat and Adviser of House Corrino.

Master Guenter Kolk - Owner of Cafe Alvsgaard and an Independant.

Grand Earl Setzer Trajanus Cartusa Vaslaj - Prime Minister of House Venhei.

Countess Leliya Gabriella Aida Vallus Obrenovi - Minister of Public Relations in House Venhei.

Lady Tat'iana Anstasovna Rastanyev - Earl's Sister of House Rastanyev.

Count Palatine Septimus Optimus Magnus-Paldrigus III - Chancellor of the Gerousia and House Atreides.

Lord Richelieu Jean Armand du Rochelle - Swordsmaster of House Alvstad.

Lady Gaia Cartusa Vaslaj - Ministerial Aide to Setzer in House Venhei and his daughter.

Lady Lena Andragoras of Radek - Ambassador at Large of House Alvstad.

Lady Sylvie Marguerite de Biencourt - Baronial Concubine in House Harkonnen.

Guard Sergeant Fahahd Alaurans - Familiar Guard in House Harkonnen.

I give special credit to Guenter, for his amazing use of the Lady DeBouchette, the gentlemen in tuxedo's and other NPC's, it was very well done.

Read and enjoy!

Through the eyes of Setzer:

You walk through the Wooden Double Doors.

Cafe Alvsgaard (Kaitain)

A wide, white walled, arena of seats circle about a central, hardwood, dancefloor and stage. At the back wall is the main bar, though most drinks are served at the tables that fill the room. At the left of the bar, a luxuriously furnished staircase leads to the upstairs of the cafe.

Kaitain's most respected and well known mill about the cafe in full dress. Though a few remain in more casual attire, they are often scoffed at and ignored by the ladies and gentlemen of polite society. A full sized piano is set, off-center, in the room where an assortment of talented pianists work the ebony and ivory keys. Of all the entertainers, the most common by far is a young woman of exotic features.

Players:

Justine                                                             Guenter

Exits:

White Marbled Staircase <U> leads to Upstairs - Cafe Alvsgaard (Kaitain)

Ornate French Doors <SW> leads to Casino -- Cafe Alvsgaard (Kaitain)

Gilded Silver Doors <S> leads to Saudir I Plaza -- Central District (Kaitain)

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches Setzer, his obsequious nature overlfowing from him, "My'lord. Might I find a table for you? I would be honored to be at your service."

Upon entering, Setzer looks over the room and smiles as the gentleman approaches him, "Certainly, my good man. I've not yet come here, so I'll trust your advice on a good table." Peering over, he notices Justine in another part of the room and says to the gentleman, "Do tell me...is that the Lady Justine Garamond over yonder?"

Leliya walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Leliya has arrived.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman addresses Leliya, "Only a moment, and I will be with you, m'lady." He then turns his attentions back to Setzer. He looks toward the booth where Guenter and Justine are seated. "Indeed, m'lord. That is the Lady Justine." He indicates a table near the bar, "Might I ask that you follow me to one of our finest tables, m'lord?"

Setzer turns to Leliya and offers her his hand, "Both of us, good sir. More than that, might you be so kind as to ask Lady Justine and her friend if we may join them? No obligation, of course."

An exotic young woman plays at the piano. The tune is a quiet song, and the lyrics speak of young lovers, torn assunder by circumstances beyond either of their control, and the man's undying quest to be reuinted with his long lost lover. Her voice is sublime, as if she were bred to the task of entertaining.

Leliya takes Setzer's hand, smiling plesantly. She looks over at the Lady Justine and runs through her memory, bringing up everything she knows on the woman.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman smiles at the request, "Very well, m'lord." He looks toward the couple at the booth, then bck to Setzer, "My Lord, while I assure you are of the most kindly sort, I must inform you that the couple have asked not to be disturbed, at least for the time being." He looks to Leliya, "Might I interst the two of you in a bottle of our Thorgod Reisling? I'm certain you will enjoy it. Though, if you would prefer, I will glady send our sommeliere."

Setzer frowns slightly, then raises one brow, taking out his wallet, "You'll be so kind as to bring me some Caladanian wine. If you've none on the House, I'm sure you'll find some elsewhere? Money is no option," he turns to Leliya and smiles, "Only the best for my dearest. I still haven't recovered from the taste it left me when I visited the Atreides not long ago."

Justine sits at a table, near the stage, speaking quietly with Guenter. Her expression changes from confusion, to sadness, to warmth and to happiness, depending on what the issue is. The conversation appears to be personal and deep, as her attention is only on him.

Guenter sighs, as he speaks, obviously rather wrapped up in the conversation, his demeanor is gentle, and quiet. The employees of the cafe, in their ballet of serving each customer, carefully avoid getting to close to the man, for fear of what actions their presence might bring from the man.

Leliya lets Setzer take care of getting the wine, then smiles up at him, "Yes, I do love Caladanian wine. It is practicly addictive."

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman smiles, both out of his debt of service, and at the obvious attraction shared by the couple, "But of course, m'lord, m'lady. Only the best." He calls for the sommelier. He then leads the couple to their table, explaining as he goes, "You have chosen a fabulous night to join us, we have none other then Dianne DeBourchette, a marvelous singer only recently released from contract with the Turenne. I'm certain you will enjoy her performance." He dodges a few servers, "And of course, the finest pianist on the planet for yur enjoyment in the meantime." He smiles, finally reaching the seat, he pulls the chair out for Leliya, "Once more, we are honored to have you s our guests."

Guiding Leliya along the same path as the gentleman, Setzer retains his smile, looking over at the pianist admiringly, "Yes I'm sure I will. Music is quite my hobby. Pity I can't play all that well, hmm dear?" he laughs, then seats himself opposite Leliya at the table, "I'm glad to be out of the Embassy. Being surrounded by politics has made me more claustraphobic than a slave in a Harkonnen cell."

Leliya laughs plesantly as she takes her seat, "You can play quite well." She casts a glance over at the pianist, "Although I must admit, you are just a little bit better than the talent here." She laughs again, aparently in a very good mood.

Setzer chuckles and leans over, whispering in Leliya's ear. His face is impassive, though shows good humour and a laid back attitude.

You whisper, "I've not met her but I had heard about her during our trip to Alvsgaard. I hadn't expected her to be associating with a nobody, who is that man with her?" to Leliya.

Leliya whispers, "I believe he is the owner of this cafe...I have seen him her before, and he seems to fit the role."

Leliya listens to Setzer, then whispers back a reply.

Guenter refills his glass from the bottle, then adding to Justine's.

Setzer nods in agreement with Leliya, "Certainly seems like it." He looks back over to the pianist and listens to the music, taking in the atmosphere completely while tapping a finger on the table inadvertantly.

An exotic young woman finishes her song, looking about the cafe, she pauses for a drink. Her eyes catch sight of Setzer and Leliya, and a smile breaks across her lips. She then begins into an old standard of Liathon, light, but touching.

Setzer smiles at Leliya, then rises from the table and extends his hand to her, "Dance with me?"

Leliya smiles up at Setzer brightly, and takes his hand. She is lifted up and brings herself to Setzer, "Why, of course."

Setzer walks to the dancefloor with Leliya and then begins to step lightly to the music. His movements are graceful and one can see quite clearly that he is a consummate dancer, with a partner who is his match both in height and skill. As the music continues, he spins her about softly and hums to the tune well-known on Liathon.

The dance floor is filled with men and women, all dressed to the tee in formal regalia, tuxedos and formal gowns moving about to a common rythm. The pianist plays the song perfectly, a song from the era of Alin Venhei's rule. The cafe is alive as the evening is upon it.

Leliya dances with Setzer, moving in perfect sync with him. She smilies brightly and lovingly at him, humming the tune with him. She gets louder with the song, becoming absorbed with it and Setzer.

Justine doesn't seem to notice the music nor the people as she continues her deep discussion with Guenter, only breaking her attention just enough to take occassional sips of her wine.

Guenter nods in response to whatever it is that Justine is saying. He takes another drink from his wine glass, speaking softly, with great tenderness.

Tat'iana walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Tat'iana has arrived.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches Tat'iana, smiling, and obsequious, "M'lady." He bows deeply, "Might I find a table for you, or perhaps you would like a seat at our most wonderful bar?" He motions toward the packed br, and smiling bartender, "How might I serve you best?"

Setzer dances unobtrusively, not noticing Tat'iana enter and brings Leliya close to him, whispering an 'I love you' into her ear, then stepping back and spinning her around once, going a little faster as the music gains pace.

Magnus walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Magnus has arrived.

Leliya doesn't notice Tat'iana enter either, so entwined with the music and Setzer. Her smile becomes even more loving, and she is even on the verge of laughing with joy as the tempo picks up.

Tat'iana steps into the cafe, and is immediately approached by the maitre'd. The quick attention surprises her, and she gestures vaguely towards the tables to indicate her preference.

Justine sits at a table with Guenter, talking quietly with him. The mood seems to change as she quickly finishes her glass and appears to be preparing to depart the table.

Magnus steps in gingerly, just after Tat'iana and walks to her side. As he reaches her, he smiles with a polite nod, "You'll allow me to join you, my lady?"

A gentleman in a tuxedo approaches the pianist. As he does, the music comes to a halt, and the song changes to the anthm of the Rastanyev. The gentleman announces to the cafe, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are honroed to have the presence of The Lady Tat'iana Anstasovna Rastanyev, Sister to the Siridar Earl Mikhail Rastanyev." He then turns, and bows to the high ranked noble.

Setzer begins to slow down as more and more people enter the Cafe. He takes Leliya's hand and kisses it gently, looking up and noticing Tat'iana enter. He whispers something into her ear, then begins to walk over to the Lady Tat'iana.

An exotic young woman stops the anthem after a breif time, and then fluidly blends back into the song she was playing before, the dancing picking up again.

Tat'iana turns at the familiar voice at her elbow, but is stopped by the announcement. She smiles warmly, nodding politely to those who seek to meet her gaze. Again, she returns her attention to Magnus, quietly murmuring to him, "Excellency, what a pleasant surprise. Yes, please do join me... I'd thought I'd pop by this evening for some tea, but, I see business has quite picked up here lately."

Magnus extends his arm toward her with a grin, then gently says to her, "You seem to be the star attraction, my lady."

Justine begins to stand from her seat but stops when Guenter speaks to her. She slowly lowers herself back down, nodding her head slightly as she replies in soft, quiet tones.

Leliya follows Setzer toword Tat'iana, smiling much less brightly, and much more politely.

Tat'iana slips her arm through Magnus', a blush starting up from her neck and spreading across her cheeks. She shakes her head incredulously, then laughs quietly. "I don't see whatever for... but... I suppose it is good."

Setzer looks over at the pianist when the anthem stops, then chuckles and continues to make his way to Tat'iana, stopping a few feet from her and bowing slightly, "Lady Rastanyev, this is a pleasant surprise...." he smiles, almost amused at the grand introduction, but genuinely nevertheless.

Tat'iana just looked at you.

Magnus smiles and whispers something to Tat'iana as Setzer approaches, then watches the man greet the Lady. He tilts his head curiously and seems to analyze the man there on the spot.

Leliya curtsies in sync with Setzer, "Yes, Lady Rastanyev. This is quite a plesant suprise. She smiles at Tat'iana with a smile that conveys happyness but covers up true feelings.

Tat'iana peers at the man and woman approaching her for a moment, but then recognition alights in her face. Her smile broadens, and she inclines her head towards the couple, not responding to Magnus' whispered comment. "Ah... Lord Vaslaj, Lady Obrenovi, indeed this is a most pleasant surprise. Enjoying your evening, I do hope? I am glad to see that you have recovered from your illness, Lord Vaslaj. Do you know Count Palatine Magnus, of House Atreides?"

Setzer chuckles, "Yes..I have quite recovered. I hope you are well yourself, Lady Rastanyev?" He turns to look at Magnus and bows again, "No, I do not personally know the Count Palatine, though I have heard of him. Chancellor of the Atreides Gerousia, am I correct?"

Magnus nods politely to Setzer, "Yes sir, you are correct." He now remains silent, looking out over several tables to who he thinks is Justine Garamond. Squinting, he asks the others around him, "Forgive my eyesight, that is the Lady Garamond, yes?"

Guenter's demeanor shifts a bit, becoming a bit more at ease, a bit more comfortable. He has a few drink from his wine glass, and speaks, still softly, to Justine.

Leliya looks to Magnus, then bows in sync with Setzer yet again, "Well, many suprises tonight. Count Palantine, yet another plesant suprise."

Richelieu walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Richelieu has arrived.

Justine seems to relax even more now herself, as if relieved about something as she sips her wine and speaks quietly with Guenter. Still oblivious of those in the room.

Richelieu enters, his eyes roaming the room, placing names with faces as he makes his way towards the bar.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches Richelieu, smling, and obequious, "Lord Armand du Rochelle, an honor to see you this evening." He motions toward a table halfway back from the dance floor/stage area, "Might I find a seat for you from where you can enjoy the Lady DeBouchette, m'lord?"

Tat'iana cranes her neck to see in the direction Magnus looks. She shakes her head after a moment, "I've not been introduced to her... I'm afraid I couldn't confirm or deny the Lady's identity..."

The Swormaster takes a look at the gentleman, one eyebrow slightly raised, "No thank you, I will rather stand, I find it more to my taste." The Gentleman nods, and leaves, leaving Richelieu near the entrance, now slightly amused.

Justine chuckles lightly at something Guenter says, shaking her head slightly as she waves her hand a bit in the air.

Magnus squints for a short while longer, then shakes his head and turns to Tat'iana with a smile, "A table my lady?" he looks to Setzer and Leliya, "You wouldn't mind joining us, if it is acceptable by the lady?" He looks again to Tat'iana and exchanges another smile with a sparkle of his eyes.

Gaia walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Gaia has arrived.

The bar tender, a man getting along in years, though looking very refined in a bright red dinner jacket, looks toward Richelieu, he offers a glass filled with Alvst Vodka to the man, "House custom, m'lord. A gift a man of Alvsgaard would surely enjoy."

Gaia steps into the cafe, her heels clicking as she walks into the room deeper before looking about to see if there is an open seat.

"A splendid idea, on both counts," Tat'iana says warmly, looking towards the tables to see if any are available.

Leliya nods to Magnus, smiling in a much more receptive manner to him. She waits for Setzer to begin walking, then spots Gaia, "Gaia." She says it just loud enough to be heard.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches the Lady Vaslaj, "M'lady, will you be dining with the Grand Earl Vaslaj and the Countess Vallus Obrenovi this evening, or would you prefer another table?"

Guenter smiles to Justine, extending a hand to her as she prepares to leave, speaking quietly.

Richelieu smiles and nods, accepting the glass from from the offered hand. Turning slightly to allow himself to look about the room he brings the glass to his lips and taste the sweet nectar. His eyes fall upon the beautiful Lady Leliya, one person he knows amongst the crowd of strangers, and he makes his way towards her, "M'lady Leliya, what a surprise," he bows slightly.

Justine is speaking with Guenter when her com unit beeps. She frowns as she answers it and then sighs while standing. When Guenter offers his hand, she smiles and reaches for it, taking it lightly.

Standing next to Leliya, Setzer raises his brows in expectation of an introduction, looking at Richelieu with his head slightly tilted.

Gaia moves towards her father and Leliya and smiles at them both as she comments then to the Gentleman "I will be joining my father this evening."

Magnus points to a gold-booth in one area of the room, "That looks like a charming place my lady, if I may be so bold," he looks to Setzer and Leliya, "You'll join us of course?"

Leliya nods slowly, "Why of course, Count Palantine. She waits for Setzer to move first."

Setzer blinks for a moment, then suddenly clicks out of his trance, "Hmm? OH! Yes, of course, we'll join you, Your Excellency."

Guenter takes Justine's hand with a warm smile, saying his goodbyes. He then heads toward the stage.

Tat'iana looks down as her own com unit beeps, her mouth opening in surprise. With a shake of her head, she extracts her arm from Magnus'. "Oh dear... this must be important," she murmurs, "I am terribly sorry. I must decline after all."

Justine nods to Guenter, almost bowing to him and then turns to move out of the establishment. She blinks in surprise when she sees the amount of people in here and feels somewhat embarrassed for not noticing. She offers a bright smile and a nod to everyone as she weaves her way around the tables and patrons towards the exit.

Magnus raises his brows as Tat'iana leaves his side, "Very well my lady. Another time, hopefully. I will escort you out?"

Gaia moves up along side Leliya and smiles "Countess how are you this evening?"

Leliya smiles brightly at Gaia, "Quite well, and you?"

Setzer looks at her daughter, then leans over and kisses her on the cheek, "My dear how are you? I hadn't expected to find you in this place. You followed us, hmm?" he smiles brightly at his daughter.

Gaia smiles a good bit, "I am well and just supprised to find you and my father here."

Tat'iana pauses in the midst of preparing to leave, smiling brightly to Magnus. "If you wish, Excellency.. but I would not wish to distract you from your pleasant evening with such a chore..."

Justine slips out of the establishment quietly, now pondering how her conversation must have looked to the others and wondering if she should be concerned.

Richelieu frowns slightly, unsure of how to proceed, whether or not to act miffed or to take a seat elsewhere. He decides to go with the less dramatic and slowly makes his way from the Lady Leliya, taking another sip from his drink and sitting alone near the dance floor.

Guenter steps up, onto the stage, he speaks with a few tuxedo clad servers, and then leaves the stage, headed back toward the bar.

Magnus chuckles, "It is no chore," he looks to the others and nods politely, "Another time, my lords and ladies? My own apologies." He links arms with Tat'iana again and escorts her out.

Gaia blushes at her fathers affection and then looks at him "Please do not do that Father."

Justine walks to the south and passes through the Gilded Silver Doors.

Justine has left.

Magnus walks to the south and passes through the Gilded Silver Doors.

Magnus has left.

Tat'iana walks to the south and passes through the Gilded Silver Doors.

Tat'iana has left.

An attractive young lady enters from the casino, looking about the gathered group of people.

Leliya watches all of the people leave, then turns her attention back to Setzer and Gaia.

Setzer looks around once more at the now depleted crowd and laughs, "Our own table again I suppose?"

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman takes to the stage, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Nobleborn." He speaks into a microphone over the music played by the pianist, "The Cafe Alvsgaard is pleased to announce, for your pleasure, the Lady DeBouchette, only recently released of contractual obligations to the Turenne, and appearing here tonight, for one night only." He takes a step back, looking to the pianist, with a simle, and a nod. The music fades, and the lights dim. Those on the dance floor pause, many returning to their seats.

Leliya laughs quietly and plesantly, "Yes, I suppose so." She catches Gaia's look quickly, and looks over to Setzer, letting him make the decision.

Setzer takes Leliya's hand gently and gestures for his daughter to join them also. He walks over to their former table and begins to watch the show, leaning over to Leliya and making a small comment.

You whisper, "You know that Alvstad man? Ask him to join us if you wish, but you might want to introduce us first, dearest. I've not met him." to Leliya.

An attractive young lady wanders about the cafe, apparently a bit confused. She catches sight of Richelieu, alone, at his table, and approaches him.

You take a seat at the Golden Booth.

Richelieu looks up, finishing the last of his drink, his eyes roaming till they rest upon the approaching lady. Out of custom he stands swiftly, smiling slightly and intoning his head, "G'day m'Lady."

Gaia smiles lightly and joins them both and then leans back slowly in her seat allowing her father to enjoy his tiem with Leliya as she turns soem to watch the show.

Gaia joins you at the Golden Booth.

Coming to the stage is a woman of Gamont, well known as a prized entertainer. She steps toward the microphone, and the pianist begins to play a song of a latin flavour. She pauses, with no further introdution or speech, breaking directly into the song, "Se voce disser que eu desafino amor/Saiba que isso em mim provoca imensa dor/So previlegiados tem ouvido igual ao seu/Eu possuo apenas o que deus me deu..."

Leliya joins you at the Golden Booth.

Richelieu not waiting to exchange names nor titles he offers his arm to the unknown lady, "Would you care to dance, m'Lady," a faint smile gracing his face.

An attractive young lady smiles brightly as Richelieu addresses her, "Oh!" She lets out a slightly surprised expression, "I.." She looks behind her, notcing that she is blocking the view of several people, and so, to avoid a scene, sits quickly at the man's table, "I would, I would /love/ to." She giggles slightly, and stands back to her feet, her formal gown moving with fluid motion with each stride she takes.

Leliya whispers, "He seems to be quite entwined with that singer at the moment...Perhaps in a few minutes?"

Setzer smiles at the love song, patting Leliya's hand gently and listening to the charming words of the singer, "Voice like an angel. I wonder how much it would be to buy her as an entertainer in House Venhei?"

The Lady DeBouchette continues the song, sung with great emotion, "E se voce insiste em classificar/ Com o meu comportamento de anti-musical/ Nao lhes vou mentir ate vou comentar/ Que isso e bossa-nova/ Que isso e muito natural/ Que voce nao sabe nem sequer pressente/ E que os desafinados tambem tem um coracao/ Fotografei voce na minha role-flix/ Revelou-se a sua enorme engratidao" The bossa nova beat plays nicely to the dance floor, as many have risen to dance.

Leliya smiles up at the singer, then turns to Setzer. Having not clearly heard him, she says "What, dear?"

Setzer chuckles and repeats, "I said how much do you think it would cost to buy that woman for House Venhei?"

Leliya nods, blushing slightly as she feels a little embarassed that she may be loosing her hearing, "Oh...I am sure she is not cheap...but not above Venhei means."

He nods his head, taking her hand in his he leads her to the center of the dance floor, waiting a brief minute to get the tempo of the song he immediately moves into one of the more favored dance moves on Alvsgaard. A grin quickly spreads across his face as he leads her forward, to the left, to the right, then back again, ending with a unique and elaborate spin, he leans forward, "M'Lady, may I say, you are rather ravishing and elegant. Though," with a sudden change of movement he quickly spins her, now standing in what was her position, "I hope you may keep up."

Gaia looks back at Setzer and gives him a dirty look before jokeingly commenting "Probably about as much as it would cost to get a Real Dancer for house Venhei."

Lena walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Lena has arrived.

An attractive young woman dances with Richelieu, trying hard to keep in pace with the man, "Oh!" She smiles, giggling a bit, "You'r much better I am." She dances well, but not as well as the Alvstad man, "Are you this good at everything?"

Setzer laughs heartily, "A real dancer, eh?" he looks over at the Alvstad man, grinning, "Would you prefer him as your instructor, dearest daughter?" he says this just lightly, so only his table can hear.

Leliya laughs softly, but not softly enough to keep people from the bordering booths to her.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches Lena, "My Lady Andragoras." He bows, deeply, "You have arrived in time to enjoy a night of the Lady DeBouchette. I hope I might be able to find you a seat to enjoy the show, yes, m'lady?" As he speaks, a woman stands upon the stage, singing quite finely to the song played on the piano. Men and women, all dressed in full formal regalia, dance upon the dance floor, and sit in the various seats, conversing amoung themselves.

Lena walks into the cafe with an easy smile and a gliding stride. She quickly scans the room with a careful eye, nodding to those she knows. A gloved hand holds a bit of her skirt as she makes her way across the café to the bar. She notices the Alvst Swordmaster on the dance floor and grins mischievously.

Gaia leans back and rolls her eyes some "About as badly as you need a new advisor." Gaia then gets a warm tea ordered for herself.

Richelieu grins, flowing from one step to the next, "M'lady, I dance for a living," he leads her into another dance maneuver, resulting in the pair moving from the center of the dance floor to the side, moving along the edge, then returning to the center.

The Lady DeBouchette continues to sing, divinely, "So nao podera falar assim do meu amor/ Que bem maior que voce pode encontrar/ Voce passou a musica e esqueceu o principal/ Que no peito dos desafinados/ No fundo do peito bate calado/ No peito dos desafinados tambem bate um coracao" and soon after the song ends. She takes a step back from the microphone, as she is met with great applause.

Setzer chuckles, "At least I can boast to have taught a daughter with wit which stings far more than a Ginaz sword, hmmm?" He looks up at the entering Lady Andragoras for a moment, then back to Lady DeBouchette and claps at the end of the performance, yelling out a 'bravo!' and smiling broadly.

Lena stops and looks over the gentleman that has spoken to her. She smiles sweetly and then claps for the lovely exotic singer. "Of course. That would be delightful."

An attractive young woman smiles to the Alvst man as he dances with her, "Well," She begins, nearly out of breathe, "You've certainly picked a career that suits you." She smiles happily. As the song ends, she pooks to the stage, applauding, and glad to have a moment to catch her breathe.

Leliya claps gracefully 'dixie style'. She adds to Setzer's comment, "Yes, Bra-vo!"

Gaia claps some for the singer before she recieves her tea and then smiles at the waiter. Finnaly she turns to both Setzer and Leliya "Well are you both doing well?"

Setzer smiles, finishing the clapping and turning to his daughter, "Yes, quite well. I'm sorry I've not had the time to see you of late, I seem to be caught up in Venhei politics far more than I had ever wished."

Leliya turns to Gaia and laughs plesantly, "Yes...Venhei politics. I am quite well myself."

Sylvie walks in from Saudir I Plaza through the Wooden Double Doors.

Sylvie has arrived.

Richelieu smiles, his hands clapping loudly, and one booted foot rising and falling to add to the applause in the Alvst Military tradition, "Bravo! Bravo!" He stops at the applause dies out, turning to the attractive lady he bows deeply, bringing her hand to his lips, and kissing it lightly, "It has been an honor m'lady, but sadly I must rest for know," his eyes having noticed the arrival of Lady Lena, "I pray we meet again." He then backs away, a smile upon his face, and makes his way through the crows to Lena, a smile upon his face, "G'day m'Lady, you are as elegant as ever."

Gaia sips on her tea and then asks "Well then why have I not been asked to join you as I thought my opinion was allways valued." she smiles seem what and sips more on the tea "Well I am happy you and the countess are doing very good."

Setzer notices the Lady Sylvie entering and stands up, beaming and waving his hand gently for Sylvie to join them, he looks down at Leliya and Gaia at his booth, "You don't mind, I hope?"

Sylvie just looked at you.

Leliya shakes her head, "Of course I don't mind, dear."

Sylvie pauses at the doorway long enough to take in the room, its occupants, and a few other details. She smiles at Setzer's greeting and waves back, approaching his table and offering a bow to those seated there.

A tuxedo clad distinguished gentleman approaches the Lady Biencourt, "M'lady, might I find you a table?" He looks tward the stage, "Or would you prefer a seatat the bar?"

Gaia looks up at the Harkonnen lady and gives a slight nod to her.

Setzer bows politely in return and draws a chair out for Sylvie, "This is a pleasure indeed, my lady. I do hope you still remember me from last time we met?"

Leliya casts a glance over at Gaia, and laughs for no apparent reason. She then turns to Sylvie, quickly controling her laughter and smiles, "Quite a pleasure, Lady Biencourt."

Lena stands next to a tuxedo clad gentleman and nods to the approaching Swordmaster. "My Lord, you are most kind and it's a distinct pleasure to see you. You look handsome as always." She grins as she looks at the attractive girl that just left the floor. "I see that you are breaking hearts again." She shakes her head and purses her lips. "These Ladies are not match for you Alvst Naval men."

Sylvie glances from the gentleman in the tux to Setzer and says, "I'd be happy to join you, Lord Vaslaj."

Sylvie joins you at the Golden Booth.

Richelieu raises one eyebrow, feigning innocence, "What ever do you mean m'Lady," a grin spreading across his bearded face. He moves to pull out the lady's chair, " And last time I heard, the Alvst woman were known for their guile as well, m'Lady." He winks slightly, "How are you this fine evening m'Lady?"

The Lady DeBouchette comes back to the microphone, as the piano plays a fimilar tune, "Mon histoire est beaucoup trop triste d'être dite. Mais ev'rything pracitically me laisse totalement froid. La seule exception que je sais est le cas Quand je suis dehors sur une fête silencieuse Combat vainly du vieil ennui...

Gaia sets her tea down on the table now and looks about the cafe for a bit.

At the Golden Booth, Sylvie asks Setzer, "Are you refering to the little party at the spaceport tavern?"

Leliya takes a sip of her caladanian wine.

At the Golden Booth, Setzer nods and smiles at Sylvie, "Yes, indeed m'lady." returns back to his seat and pours some Caladanian wine for Lady Sylvie, "You're well since then, my lady?"

Lena's gaze pans the cafe again and takes a seat at the Cherry Booth. She doesn't acknowledge the Swordmaster's comment about Alvst women as the statement is quite true. "I am in fine spirits and you My Lord?"

At the Golden Booth, Sylvie says, "Yes, thank you. School keeps me busy..." She glances at Gaia, "I don't believe I've had the pleasure?"

Lena sits down at theCherry Wood Booth.

The Lady DeBouchette continues with her song, fluidly beginning, "My story is much too sad to be told. / But pracitically ev'rything leaves me totally cold. / The only exception I know is the case / When I'm out on a quiet spree / Fighting vainly the old ennui / And I suddenly turn and see / Your fabulous face."

Richelieu sits down at theCherry Wood Booth.

Richelieu follows the Lady Lena to the booth, whispering to a passing waiter to brink back a bottle of Alvst Vodka. He grins slightly as he relaxes in the booth, "I think tonight shall prove interesting, something seems to be in the air."

The Lady continues to sing, her voice fitting the tune quite well, "I get no kick from champagne, / Mere alcohol doesn't thrill me at all, / So tell me why should it be true / That I get a kick out of you."

Setzer raises a brow, "School my lady? Still learning to be a consummate assassin?" he turns to Gaia and smiles proudly, "My apologies. Let me introduce the Lady Gaia Cartusa Vaslaj, my daughter. Gaia, meet Lady de Biencourt of House Harkonnen, Bound Concubine to the Baron."

Leliya waits paitently to be introduced to Setzer, listenting to the conversation between him and Sylvie

The singer continues, as a fleet of servants move from table to table, making sure everyone's drinks are full, and food is delivered. The lights, now dim, cast shadows upon the crowd, giving an amibience of comfort and warmth. The Lady DeBouchette sings on, "Some get a kick from cocaine./ I'm sure that if I took even one sniff/ That would bore me terrific'ly too. / Yet I get a kick out of you."

Gaia blinks some and turns from watching the singer and then smiles to Sylvie "My lady a pleasure I am sure." Gaia extends her towards Sylvie.

Sylvie smiles apologetically at Gaia and says, "I'm sorry, I'm not permitted to shake hands. I'm happy to meet you, though."

Leliya leans over to Gaia and whispers something.

An outburst is heard from the casino as someone wins big. On the dance floor, the mood is lively, as it is on the stage, "I get a kick ev'ry time I see / You're standing there before me. / I get a kick though it's clear to me / You obviously don't adore me. / I get no kick in a plane. / Flying too high with some guy in the sky / Is my idea of nothing to do. / Yet I get a kick out of you." The Lady DeBouchette sways to the temp, finishing the song with great enthusiasm.

Gaia retracts her hand and accepts the explination and just smiles softly to Sylvie as she picks up her tea again but stiffles a giggle as she hears what Leliya says and then sips on her tea "Well my lady it is understandable then. do excuse my being too forward."

Leliya claps her hands 'dixie style' again, quite enjoying the wonderful song.

At the Cherry Wood Booth, Lena leans forward and lifts the glass of vodka and cups it in her small hands for a moment, basking in the music and the captivating voice. She throws her head back and downs the vodka and pours herself another. "I see that the Venhei are again making appearances. I suppose things in their House have sufficiently slowed down somewhat to give them some time to kick back." She smiles at the Gold Booth over her glass.

Sylvie raises her eyebrows inquisitively, but doesn't comment on the noblewomen's behavior.

Setzer frowns a little toward the whispering, but ignores it. He then claps for Lady DeBouchette, and catches Lena's smile, returning one also, though making no comment to invite the Lady over.

Leliya giggles with Gaia, having quite a time tonight.

At the Cherry Wood Booth, Lena smirks at the Earl and raises her glass in a toast. "Yes, to His Excellency and the continued fortune of House Alvstad. May His Lordship's plans be realized," She downs the vodka quickly.

Sylvie glances at Setzer as she reaches for the glass of wine he poured for her, "Weren't you accompanied by a lovely...gracious woman that night?"

Gaia smiles some now and then sips more of the tea before she sets down the empty glass "Father I am sorry if I am offending you tonight." she looks down now

Richelieu raises the glass, and with a throaty bellow he responds, "Yes, to His Excellency and the continued fortune of House Alvstad. May his Lordship's enemies die swiftly and without honor," the vodka disappearing quickly. He grins, caring not who heard him, obviously filled with pride after the comment.

Setzer smiles and gestures to Leliya, but makes no comment toward her. He sips his wine, letting her make her own introduction, obviously a move to humble her somewhat. He looks around once more, watching the Lady DeBouchette leave and the normal entertainers resume their positions, playing gently.

Leliya takes the hint and turns to Sylvie, "Well, my mute counterpart here /would/ introduce me, but he has been aflicted with a mysterious disease. I am the Lady Leliya Obernovi."

Sylvie says, "I'm sorry that I didn't recognize you, My Lady. It's been some time."

Setzer shoots Leliya a dangerous glance, one which he knows all to well to make others cringe. The veins on his arms stick out a little bit as he clenches his fists under the table and restrains himself from baring teeth.

Gaia smiles at Leliya and then comments "Perhaps my father should get himself examinied." she laughs a bit "I am sure that there is a good physcian somewhere that will see him."

Leliya shrinks back slightly, her smile fading for a moment, "Yes...Lady Biencourt...it has been some time..."

Setzer looks over to Gaia and calmly says, "Perhaps you ladies would like to leave Lady De Biencourt and I and visit a physician who specializes in teaching manners. Hmm?" His voice is icy cold, though it is clear the order is rhetorical and needs no reply.

At the Cherry Wood Booth, Lena grins while she fingers the rim of her glass and comments on the Swordmaster's toast about their enemies. "Yes, they may indeed." She leans back in her chair again and folds her arms. She watches the gold booth with interest. "Perhaps you are right. I do feel some tension in the air."

Sylvie shakes her head and murmurs, "Forgive me. If I had known my presence was unwanted, I wouldn't have burdened you with it." She stands and bows to Setzer, "My Lord, thank you for your kindness. I hope we meet again another time."

Gaia looks down now and then just sits quietly as it seems her spine has been broken in pride.

Setzer sighs and rises, "Lady DeBiencourt, if I may impose on you so much as to join you? Believe me, your presence is no burden, though I seem to have grown weary of this place very quickly."

Sylvie leaves her place at the Golden Booth.

Leliya looks over at Gaia, and remains silent.

At the Golden Booth, Gaia looks directly at Setzer and says softly, "I am so sorry father, I did not mean to cause such trouble." Gaia then begins to make ready to leave.

Sylvie smiles, "If you wish it, My Lord." She turns to the ladies and inclines her head, "It was...an experience, My Lady Obrenovi, Lady Vaslaj."

Leliya nods, smiling wealkly and politely at Sylvie, but saying nothing.

At the Cherry Wood Booth, Lena arches her left brow as the Earl and the Lady DeBiencourt leave. My, what excitement this evening.

Setzer smiles, glad that the Lady has accepted his impose on her. He offers no goodbye's to the other two ladies, though looks at the Alvstad pair and nods politely, with a face that portrays 'do hope you enjoyed the "show".'

Gaia glances towards Sylvie "Lady DeBiencourt do have a good evening." she then stands herself up makeing ready to leave

At the Cherry Wood Booth, Lena nods at the departing pair with a mischievous smile. She raises her glass in a toast.

Sylvie turns and heads for the door, her expression carefully blank.

Leliya quickly downs the remaining wine.

Setzer follows Sylvie out the door, clasping his hands behind his back.

Sylvie walks to the south and passes through the Gilded Silver Doors.

Sylvie has left.

You walk through the Gilded Silver Doors.
